Link Spamming is NOT cool.

But this is getting a little annoying...

And I'm sorry if this comes off mean but I have to nip this at the butt now.

Please Read this:
"Thank you for taking your time to comment! I read each and every single one!!
♥ Please be respectful and DO NOT post links in comments. Comments with links will not be published. If you would like me to check out your site or to be added to my blogroll, send me an email to cristina@letthemhavepolish.com please. ♥

That little blurb is above every comment someone leaves on my blog... So why is this happening!?

Here is the deal. I don't particularly appreciate comments on my posts that are all like .." Blah blah, OH BTW, here is my blog follow me since I follow you".

Ok, first off since clearly you couldn't respect my blog , the last thing I'm going to do is check out your page or publish your comment. The way to get your blog noticed is with hard work. Worked for me.... I never had the need to disrespect any bloggers wishes or their blogs by plastering my site all over their pages when specifically asked not to. All that will accomplish is pissing off an established blogger that could help you, but probably won't because now they are aggravated... I'm all for new blogs because I love all things nails and seeing new ideas, but the way to get me to look at your page is not by  doing what I ask NOT to do :(. I mean I even tell you guys where to send it to if you really want me to check it out and still people plaster their links all over my comments.... IF you had something on your blog asking ppl not to post links and they still did, would you be happy?

I understand being a new blogger can be tough and you all want to be noticed but the way to do that is just by sticking to it... Trust me when I tell you all that no one likes comments that pretend to care about the post only to get you to go to another site.

I'm really sorry I have to make this post because I shouldn't have to, but the situation was getting out of hand and VERY annoying. On average, out of 5 comments I can only publish 3 because people can't respect a simple wish.

I'm sorry to have to be a little mean, I hate having to post this

  4. This linkspamming seems to be happening everywhere right now and I don't really get it. Those people have to know that doing that ONLY pisses of the bloggers that get those comments and then you get even less publicity or whatever they're after. So what's the point?! And yes, you're so right to post this.

  5. It's a bit of a liberty, isn't it. I do marvel at the blatant spamming I see every so often. Good on you for telling 'em what's what!

  6. Sucks when you have to point these things out but you have to sometimes :)

The stupid thing is it's not actually going to do them as many favours as they may think in terms of google PR / SEO tricks. Meh.

    love the blog

  7. Well said Cristina! You're SO right.
It just makes you want to make sure you NEVER follow their blog because they were cheeky enough to spam you.

I'm a new blogger myself and I've never had the need to do this kind of thing..

  9. I don't like that spam stuff either! I never understand why people don't take the time to come up with a more interesting comment than: "cool! check out my blog and follow me at xxxx.xxxx.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
If you say something insightful and interesting like "Beautiful color it reminds me of that OPI shade "xxxx" mixed with the new Zoya shade "xxxx". I think it would look great as a party color..." that will get you more attention!

  10. I would have been too embarrassed to post a comment like that. Why don't they just post a nice comment without the spam and hope people will come anyway?

  13. Haha I completely agree -

I actually got my Mom started on Blogger and she started link spamming people until I told her it was not usually appreciated.

I guess some people just don't realize!

  14. lol. i love this! i totally agree! i am newbie but my skin is not thick enough to plaster my link everywhere. i believe hard work pays off. its the same with instagram, its annoying especially when they put :"returning follows, comments and likes" it makes it so superficial and meaningless.

  15. I couldn't agree more. I remember when I first started my blog I didn't know anything about the blogging world, but I still didn't leave links everywhere! Then read on the internet that leaving your link on people's posts is considered spamming, so it was always a definite no-no for me. But grrr, when others do it it's so annoying - especially if they just say one word, like "cute." You know what's also terrible, and annoying? When people claim "first" on your photos on facebook. It's ridiculous. I had someone claim first on one of my page's photos, and it was kind of hilarious as plenty of them don't even have comments. *facepalm*

  16. You are absolutely right for posting about this!!! It is mostly little girls that do it though - when did the internet get invaded by children? Man, that makes me sound old!

  17. LOL the phrase is "Nip it in the bud" not "nip it at the butt." I laughed so hard! True post though!

  18. I feel the same way, I've just started out myself and I don't feel the need to spam others hard work with my links. I recently had it out with a Youtube spammer, who chose to post her link on a beauty blogger's goodbye (due to illness) video! The cheek of it! I basically said that she should be ashamed to try and get hits off someone else's misery! Honestly, it disgusts me!

  19. Just same across this post while searching for tips for new nail bloggers and this is so true!
It just makes you feel that people are checking out your blog or commenting because they like what you made, but just for the plain sake of getting noticed, which is sad! I started a blog wanting to get into the community, find inspiration and meet lots of people with the same interest. This is really disrespectful, especially since you've stated it in your blog so clearly.

  20. I came across your blog when I was looking for ways to better my blog and to start a follower base, I most say thank you for this. I have seen so many others doing this I thought it may be what I need to do... So again thank you for the great read!! -new blogger
