China Glaze Mummy may I?

Happy Halloween!!

Are you guys sick of looking at pics of these polishes yet? Well here is one more post just in case you weren't lol!!

China Glaze Mummy May I?
Awakening Collection (Halloween 2010)
Artificial Light
I really am this pale :(. Scary for a Puerto Rican living in Florida lol!
Outdoors in Shade
Direct Sunlight
First things first. Sorry I have to swatch this on my little Nubby nails :(. I had such a great idea for this polish and when I broke my middle nail I knew that was kind of ruined but I wanted to wear this while it was still "relevant" lol. "Mummy may I?" is a beautiful dark Plum jelly packed full of dark Purple glitter. I was concerned about opacity on this, but there was no need for my worry as it had excellent coverage. For these pictures I only needed Two coats of polish and it was perfection. The formula is really easy to work with and the finished product as you can see is a lot less Halloween and a lot AWESOME. This dries a bit matte and gritty so a good top coat should be used. For my mani I used a good coat of Seche Vite and the gloss it gave made the color stand out even more.

Thanks for Reading and Happy Halloween!

Seche Vite vs. Poshe?

Hello Lovelies!

As promised here is a quick comparison of Seche Vite Top coat and Poshe Top Coat. I'll start with some pics.

Posche Brush
Seche Vite brush
I'm going to break this down by Category to make the comparison a little easier for all of us:)

Brush:
Both Brands have great brushes. They are both very soft, they both hold a nice amount of product and easy to manipulate. The Seche Vite brush is slightly smaller than the brush on Poshe. Also the Poshe brush seems to be very round where the Seche Vite brush is the slightest bit flattened. Personally, I prefer the Seche Vite Brush because I have small nails.

Formula:
I find the Poshe formula to be very thick, almost syrup- like. The formula on Seche Vite is thick but not goopy. My biggest issue with Poshe is that it becomes too tacky to fast. Almost like it's drying as I'm trying to cover my nail with it :-s. and also it can be stringy. As in when you pull the brush out of the bottle if you're not fast enough you'll end up with a lot of strings. Not cute. The Seche Vite formula on the other hand is the perfect thickness in my opinion. I do not have the string issue or the tackiness issue as I spread it on my nails. I don't like my polish to look thick r globbed on and with Seche I get great shine without looking globbed on. If you are looking for insane shine, either brand will provide that equaly great.

Dry Time:
They both dry fast and not tacky. Poshe claims: dry to the touch in one minute, completely dry in Five minutes. I'm not so sure about that as the few times I've used Poshe on my hands I always end up with winkles on my nails... So it's safe to say that I don't sit there with a timer to see how long it takes for my top coat to dry but I know Seche Vite dries very fast and I've never had the wrinkle issue with Seche Vite.

Bottom Line:
It's a personal preference thing when it comes to top coats. A top coat is important no matter what the brand. I think they are both great top coats but maybe for different things. I know it sounds like I hate Poshe, I don't. I really like the stuff but for specific things. Poshe is great for gritty glitters and pedicures. My pedis last soooo long and every few days I apply a fresh coat to revive the color. However I don't really like it over creme polishes too much. For cremes and my fingernails I prefer Seche Vite because it gives my manis a lovely glossy smooth finish. Plus with my tiny fingernails it's easier for me to use Seche because of it's smaller brush.

So I hope this helps any of you that may have had any questions about which one to get. This is just observations that I have made after using both top coats that I felt were the most important points. If any of you lovelies have questions or additions and what not feel free to leave 'em in the comments :).

China Glaze Tree Hugger

This is one BRIGHT happy green...

China Glaze Tree Hugger
Ecollection
Messed up my index :( This is a little brighter
I love the shimmer throughout this.
Not sure where I was going with this lol. Just playing with my Stripe Rites.
I have had this color for a LONG time. Why I hadn't tried it yet, I have no idea. "Tree Hugger" is a great Lime Green shimmer that has great pigmentation. I only needed two coats for full even coverage and the formula was excellent. I find that China Glaze shimmers all have great formulas. The shimmer in this is very subtle, almost pearl- like so the polish still looks creamy and rich. As for the black and white stripes... Well I'm not too sure what's up with those. I really wanted to play around with my Stripe Rite polishes, but as you can see my skills are still kind of lacking LOL. For this mani a top coat of Seche Vite was used.

***You guys decide: Should the black and white stripe mani go under the FAIL tab?***

Thank you for Reading :)

Tag you're it!

Hello,

I have been Tagged by Kelly from Konad and Polish to do this little Survey and I think it's nice to get to know your bloggers, so here we go :) :

1. Why did you create the blog?
It was actually the suggestion of my wonderful husband after I had started collecting nail polish and posting the pictures on my personal Facebook. One day I ventured over to blogger and decided to take the plunge.

2. What kind of blogs do you follow?
It's mostly other nail related blogs. Some are fashion blogs and some are make- up blogs.

3. Do you have a favourite make-up brand?
Not particularly. I really like Bare Escentuals mineral foundation. This stuff really does make you look flawless but it never looks like I have make up on at all. My complexion is not very good either so trust me when I tell you this stuff is magical.

4. And a favourite clothing brand?
I really like American Eagle. Their stuff is always so cute without being super trendy and obnoxious. I like Aeropostale for layering pieces like tanks and Cami's and Charlotte- Russe for Cardigans and such. Looove Pac Sun Skinny jeans. It's like they were made for me.

5. What make-up products are essential for you?
Mineral Veil, Mascara, Nude Lip Gloss, Eyeliner

6. What’s your favourite colour?
Green everythinginbetween, Blue everythinginbetween, Purple. haha I love color way to much to chose just one.
7. What’s your favourite perfume?
I'm going to just say it. Hands down it has to be Chance by Chanel

8. What’s the film you liked the most?
For some reason I really love Garden State. The characters in that movie are very relatable to me.
9. What countries would you like to go?
OMG EVERYWHERE! My husband and I want to go to sooo many places I can't even sit here and list them all. But we really want to travel and see the world.

The rules are that now I have to tag 10 other blogs so I'll chose from my list of awesomeness
9. You've got Nail (IDK if this will happen but I love her rants and it would be awesome to see her answers lol)
10. Black Nail Polish and Lip Gloss

Nubar 2010

Hello Lovelies,

I have seen the light, the Flakie light! I see what the big deal is over these and I don't understand why these flakie style polishes are so unaccesible :(. Every polish addict needs to own at least one flakie polish. Onto some prettyness!

Nubar 2010
Layered ove OPI Suzi says Feng Shui
Sunlight
Shade
I really love the effect the flakes are creating over "Suzi says Feng Shui". It kinda reminds me of the type of Sunset Sky where the clouds are pink and golden against a blue sky. Just beautiful! For this mani two coats of Nubar 2010 were used and Seche Vite as a top coat.

Nubar 2010

Shade. **Mega Drool**

Layered over Black Nubar's 2010 does magical things. Although I have a feeling this flakie could make anything stunning. To me this looks like when a fire is dying and just the embers are left. I just love Nubar's 2010 and I really am wanting more flakies now. For this mani Two coats of Nubar 2010 were used and for the first time a coat of Poshe top coat was used. I decided to try Poshe after one of my lovely readers (Thanks Dora :) recommended it to me. I will be doing a review and comparison pretty soon of both Seche Vite and Poshe top coats. As for Nubar 2010... It is so going in my Epic WIN tab :).

O.P.I Suzi says Feng Shui

This is probably one of my all time favorite colors!

O.P.I Suzi says Feng Shui
Tiny Takeouts (Hong Kong Collection)
Lovely Blue
Artificial Light
"Suzi says Feng Shui" is a lovely dark denim- ish Blue that is just perfection. From the creamy smooth formula to the stunning finish, this polish is just great. We all know I have a Blue polish fetish but this one I really loved from the second I did the first brushstroke. I only needed Two coats for full coverage and it could not have been easier to work with. This color is chic and perfect for any season if you ask me. This is also a very flattering color as it is not bright and in your face. As always a coat of Seche Vite was used to top it all off.

Yay Blues!!!!

O.P.I No Room for the Blues
Bright Lites Minis
Love love and more love!
What's not to love!

One of my other favorite colors is Blue. I cannot get enough Blue. For me to NOT like a blue there has to be something severely wrong with it lol... "No Room for the Blues" is an awesome Sky Blue creme shade. Application was flawless, only two coats were needed. For some reason my camera made this a little brighter than it really is but this is really a beautiful Blue and I really loved it against my skin. This color is very soothing to look at. As always it was topped off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Muffin Mondays - Zoya Harlow (Very Pic Heavy)

It's my least favorite day of the week! Monday :(((... So to make things a little more fun and cuter I decided to start a new thing... Muffin's Choice Mondays!!!

This is my sweet Kitteh Muffin. We just call her Kitty lol. This is what
she chose for me.
Zoya's Harlow
Zoya Harlow
Artificial Light
Lovely!
"Harlow" is a lovely matte Plum polish that has an actual shimmer to it. This is beautiful and it applied so smoothly and perfectly. I've only used O.P.I mattes before and I was not a fan of how they applied and the finished product wasn't great either so I've been a bit apprehensive of trying matte polishes. To my surprise Zoya's "Harlow" applies like any regular good polish would; smooth, even and opaque except it dries matte instead of shiny. I used two coats for full evenness and coverage. I really love how classy this looks and the richness of the color itself. This also looks AMAZING with a top coat. Look!

Shiny- Matte Harlow. Ruffian Style.
I really love this color both in Matte and Shiny Versions.
So this is it for my first instalment of "Muffin Mondays" I hope you all enjoyed :). Muffin sure did.

O.P.I Red my Fortune Cookie

I need to apologize to this color for underestimating so badly :(

O.P.I Red my Fortune Cookie
Tiny Takeouts (Hong Kong Collection)
Lovely Bright Red
*Drools*
How beautiful is this Red? I don't know why I didn't wear this before. I'm not a huge fan of Reds but this just does it for me. "Red my Fortune Cookie" is a lovely, bright Red creme that was so easy to apply I thought I dreamed up the mani. For these pictures I used two coats but this formula is pigmented perfectly so it could be a one coater. If you're a fan of Red and you don't own this then you need to run out and get it because it will not disappoint. As always I used a coat of Seche Vite to seal it up and give it even more shine. I didn't really want to take this off :)

O.P.I Charged up Cherry

Charged up fingers!

O.P.I Charged up Cherry
Bright Lites Minis
Artificial Light
Sorry I only have one pic of this but this was the only good one I took :(. "Charged up Cherry" is an amazing bright Pink that's on verging on a Neon Creme finish. Application of this color was easy, creamy and smooth. This is such a fun color but as the name suggests it is very bright and "in your face". If you work in an office and whatnot I'm thinking this might not be the best Pink for you :-/. I could probably bring in airplanes with my hands. However, for how bright it is I find it very flattering and it makes me happy. As always I used a coat of Seche Vite to finish it all off.

O.P.I Dim Sum Plum

I just cannot get enough Purples!

O.P.I Dim Sum Plum
Tiny Takeouts (Hong Kong Minis)
Artificial Light
Lovely Light Plummy Goodness!
"Dim Sum Plum" is a light Plum creme that is just lovely. Application on this polish is amazing even with the tiny brush I had to work with. This color could possibly be a one coater of you have a very steady hand. For this I used two coats because I have OCD when it comes to how many coats I use LOL. I really love this color. It is very flattering and a classic that you just cannot go wrong with. As always a coat of Seche Vite was used to top it all off.

O.P.I Need Sunglasses?

I live in Sunny Florida of course I do!! :)
O.P.I Need Sunglasses?
Bright Lites Minis
Artificial Light
Maybe not my best mani ever?

"Need Sunglasses?" is an insanely bright Yellow creme that may not be the best shade on me LOL. The formula was not bad, not streaky, not runny but maybe a little thin? I know Yellow polishes can be quite the... Experience... to work with but this honestly wasn't bad, however this is the only Yellow polish I've ever worn. After Three coats it was even and smooth but there was still some VNL so maybe wearing a white base might help. I think if I ever wear this again it will absolutely be getting stamped. As always a coat of Seche Vite was used.

Claire's Glow in the Dark- Blue

This is so cute!

Claire's Glow in the Dark Polish - Light Blue
Layered over Claire's Mood Polish Flirty/ Shy. Two coats.
This makes an adorable layering polish.
It Really does glow, it may need to be worn on a white base or as a clear glitter coat.

OK, so this is definitely a layering polish. But I think it would be cute over naked nails too. For these pictures I used Two coats of glitter polish. In the dark my nails were barely showing but I think my base might be too dark. This polish dries very matte and very gritty so I had to use a decent coat of Seche Vite to perk it up. I really love this over this particular polish because it creates a very icy effect with the gradient in Blues from the mood polish and the blue glitter. I'm sure this would be cool under UV lights :).

Claire's Mood Polish: Flirty/ Shy

This is so much fun!!

Claire's Flirty/ Shy
Mood Polish
Just Flirty, Cool Water
Flirty on Tips, Shy on Nail bed :)

Awesome Gradient.
I can see why these are so popular! "Flirty/ Shy" is an awesome color changing Blue shade that goes from a light Blue to a Royal Blue depending on temperature. Lighter areas of your nail will be a darker Blue and warmer areas of your nails will be the light Blue. I love that the polish by itself creates such a cool gradient effect without me having to do extra work :). Application was easy and only Two coats were needed for full coverage. This polish dried to a cool matte finish, almost plastic looking. Even though I liked the finish it dried to I still added a coat of Seche Vite to give it shine. I can't wait to try my next Mood Polish :)!

O.P.I Yodel me on my Cell

I love a gorgeous Shimmer..

O.P.I Yodel me on my Cell

Artificial Light
Gorgeous Blue tones
What's not to love?
This is the closest to the actual Color.

"Yodel me on my Cell" is a beautiful Dark Turquoise shimmer that I am so glad I bought :) (I debated on it for a while). This reminds me of the color on Peacock feathers. For full coverage I needed Three coats. I found the formula on this color to be a little on the thin side and it can be brush- stroke-y if not applied with a steady, even hand. As always Seche Vite was used as a top coat. The finished product is beautiful and very flattering. I wore this shade all weekend long and had no chips and even got a few compliments :).

A lovely Hunter Green shade.
Clear to say I wasn't really paying attention to swatches online... But wow this color surprised me with the beautiful subtle shimmer. The whole time I just thought it was a plain creme finish.  This polish is a beautiful dark hunter Green with a dark Blue- ish shimmer that I was not aware of until I started applying on my nails. For full, even coverage I needed Three coats. I'm really in love with this color. It is so perfect for Fall and so unique!

Orly Red Flare

I think I finally found my perfect Red! I'm way picky with red tones. I like them darker, true candy Apple Red. I think I have finally found it..

Orly: Red Flare
Artificial Light
Sunlight
Shade. SOOO Shiny!
For some reason this is what the color itself inspired.
"Red Flare" is a great deep luscious Red creme that applied great. This polish has an extremely pigmented formula. Two thin coats was all I needed for evenness and full coverage. It dried pretty quickly and really shiny. I used a thin coat of Seche Vite between the polish and the stamp to really make the Red pop. For some reason this color inspired me to go Halloween with my stamping. Oddly enough I am really liking this manicure :). But anyways, I am so happy with this color and so glad I have finally found my Red polish!

Sinful Colors Mint Apple

I love when a color looks good in the bottle and it turns out to be even better on the nails. Case in Point:

Sinful Colors: Mint Apple
Artificial Light
Loving the Silver Shimmer
Sunlight. Here it flashes Golden :)
Little Holo Flowers
Mint Apple
"Mint Apple" is a beautiful light pastel Green with a Silver shimmer that flashes Golden in Sunlight. The formula for this colors is so nice. Very creamy, smooth and well pigmented. These polishes are a great buy! They are inexpensive but of great quality. I only needed Two coats for full opacity and it dried to a beautiful high shine. Once I added a coat of Seche Vite it gave my nails a glazed look that was just amazing. I really enjoyed wearing this :)
