Flashy New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year's Eve loves!!

How cute is this?! Chalkboard Nails did an awesome Gold and Black mani not too long ago and that gave me the inspiration for this New Year's Eve mani. I loved the color combination and I absolutely agree with her on the though that Gold and Black= NYE. My look is lacking one major cool factor that hers has... That amazing Black square glitter... What do I have to do to get my hands on THAT?! Well anyways.. I got this little stamp in a kit and I immediatelly thought of a NYE mani. Cheers!!

So for this festive look I started with one coat of China Glaze Midnight Kiss and then layered Three coats of CG Lighthouse over the Gold foil to really make the Golden tones in Lighthouse come to lfe. The stamp comes from a Salon Express kit. The plate was SE22 and I used Konad Black Special Polish. For a full review of Salon Express kits head over to Vampy Varnish. This was not the most pleasant plate to work with. The results are better than I was expecting for the cost of the entire kit... I'm not too mad at how these turned out. Then to give the effect that the stars were "raining down my nail" I sponged the tips of my nails with Color Club Take the Stage and Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow. I topped it all off with some SV followed by INM Northern Lights. Have a safe and aweone NYE everyone!!! See you again next year!

Thanks for stopping by!

LTHP's Favorite Nail Polishes of 2011- Top 10(+1) "Big Brand" Picks

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Today's post is my top 10 favorite nail polishes of 2011 that were released by "big brands". This list was really tough to come up with because at first I had like 75 polishes on my short list but I figured that would have been a little excessive lol... So I sat down on the floor surrounded by my picks and really analyzed each color and how I "felt" when I first saw it and wore and and based on that I narrowed it down to my Top 10 polishes of 2011. You might be wondering about the "+1"... I asked Mr. LTHP if he would like top have a pick of the year and he was all about it so at the end of my "countdown" I will be showing you guys Mr. LTHP's favorite color of 2011. In no particular order I give you my Top 10 Mainstream nail polish picks of 2011.

Orly Fowl Play: Birds of a Feather Collection/ Fall 2011
Um... Does this one really need much of an explanation? There is just so much going on with this polish. There are flakes, there is glitter, all in a gorgeous deep Eggplant Purple jelly base. While the rest of this collection fell quite flat for me, this color gave me hope for what Orly can do. Whenever I wear this I always find myself staring at my hands incessantly.

O.P.I DS Temptation: Fall into Glitter/ 2011 Fall DS Release
While a lot of people were upset about the DS line deviating away from the holographic finish it was so known for, I could not help but falling for this glitter. The mix of colors is really just stunning and I love the sheer Purple tint to the jelly base.

O.P.I Crown me Already!: Miss Universe Collection/ 2011 Release
Holy disco ball nails! While Silver glitters may not be that unique this one is definitely a standout in my book. I love the gigantic mirror-like hex pieces that are mixed in so perfectly with all different sizes of bright, clean Silver glitter. This looks like crushed Swarovsky Crystals on your nails. I just <3 this!!!

O.P.I I Lilly Love You: Nice Stems/ Summer 2011 Collection
Yes, another O.P.I lol. I think it's petty obvious why I love this so much. It's not quite a flakie, not quite a glitter. I love all the irregular shaped pieces mixed in with all the little square bits. I love the amazing shade of Pink it is in and I love the amazing textured look that it gives anything you layer it over.

Nicole by O.P.I Kendall on the Katwalk: Kardashian Kolors/ Holiday 2011
Nicole by O.P.I really did some beautiful colors and AMAZING glitters this year but to me the BIG standout was this baby by a longshot. It's another interesting mix of glitters that give the polish an awesome "layered" look. It's edgy and complex and for those reasons I love it!

Zoya Yara: Mirrors Collection/ Fall 2011
Yara, Yara, Yara...... Military green with the most perfect Golden/Green micro glassfleck shimmer... I am always a little speechless when it comes to this beauty because all I want to do is stare at the picture and wish it was on my nails at that very moment. This is one of the most spectacular releases of 2011.

Nicole by O.P.I Kim-plenty in Love: Kardashian Kolors/ Holiday 2011
The reason for this color being on my top 10 of the year is very simple. It is a soft pink that doesn't bore me to tears. I love the soft squishy texture and the AMAZING micro duochrome shimmer that peaks through the soft Pink base so perfectly. I also love that while it is a soft, milky Pink it actually looks really nice on my skin tone.

Zoya Gemma: Intimate Collection/ Spring 2011
Yet another Zoya epic Green. This soft Olive Green comes to life with that soft Blue/ Pink flash that comes out so effortlessly. This color is easy on the eyes and just flawless. This is another color that made a lot of noise when it was released. I, for one, could not wait to get my mitts on it when I first saw pictures.

China Glaze Midtown Magic: Metro Collection/ Fall 2011
This looks like embers burning... It's just amazing. I don't ever go for Brown tones but the spectacular Golden/Green shimmer in this color really just drew me in and made a fool out of me for ever doubting Brown lol. I love that it's not an "in- your- face" shimmer keeping the color sultry but super interesting.

Revlon Starry Pink/ Fall 2011 Release
Another soft Pink that has something interesting going on. I love that the base has just a touch of Blue making this one of those "lavender pinks" that I love so much. I love the different sized glitters and how they look suspended in the base. I really liked that Revlon did some really interesting glitters this year and that they continue to dupe expensive brands so perfectly.

flakies? Magnetics? What do you guys think?

And now for Mr. LTHP's top pick of 2011.

China Glaze White Cap: Anchors Away/ Spring 2011 Collection
I totally agree with this pick. He really likes duochromes and I remember him commenting on this color waay back when I got it. I happen to love this color because it's delicate but so interesting and unique. He loves it because he thinks it would make a cool car color lool!!!!

Well, that is it for my top choices of 2011. Which ones do you guys agree with? Not?

LTHP's Favorite Nail Polishes of 2011- Top 10 International/Indie Picks

Happy Thursday and good morning to you all!

Today's post is my Top Ten Picks in the International/ Indie brands category. The reason why I decided to give these their own post is because there have really been some excellent polishes to come to us from smaller and international brands this year. This way it was also easier to be able to narrow it down to 10 picks per category. When I first took on the task of picking my faves of the year I thought I'd have like 54 picks :D.... Anyways.. Enough rambling! In no random order, I give you my Top 10 Indie/International brand picks for 2011.

A England Tristam: The Mythicals Collection
A England comes to us from.. You guessed it! England! This brand was started up the the very lovely Adina and she burst into the scene with a super strong collection. Tristam is Navy Blue scattered holographic perfection. Not only is this color unique and beautiful, it has an outstanding formula. When Adina created this color she really knew what she was going for because this was no mistake :D. The whole collection is really beautiful but Tristam is on a league of its own.

Chick Nail Polish All A Twitter: 2011 Collection
Chick Nail Polish has not been around very long but man did they grow on me fast! This Baby Blue creme just blew me away! It is THE perfect shade of Bridal Blue and it also has an outstanding formula. This brand is new to the scene but if Julie keeps coming up with colors like this one Chick Nail Polish will soon be a part of everyone's collection.

Glitter Gal Lizard Belly: Released in 2011.
Blackened Green linear holographic goodness... What more could you ask for? This Aussie brand really knows how to make a killer holo. When this color burst into the scene we all went crazy and when I finally got to try it I could see why. While the base is clearly green it looks practically Black and I had been dying for a black linear holo.

A Englad Galahad: The Mythicals Collection
This could easily be my most favorite creme of 2011. This color also got a lot of love when it first came out. It is just Teal perfection. I could sit here and try to think of a flaw with this color but there are non....

Specialita HITS Hefesto: No. Olimpo Collection
When I first saw this my eyes popped out of my head. I love this shade because while it can be worn fully opaque it can also be layered over anything to give other colors a strong linear holographic finish. The formula on this shade is just brilliant as well. Brazilians make some amazing polishes!

Bettina Hustle: Dico Collection/ Fall 2011
Puerto Rican brand Bettina really makes some iller cremes but when they do a shimmer they really make a statement. This whole collection was a part of my "short list" but when it really came down to it Hustle kept screaming my name. I love the subtle Teal to Purple shift when it's layered over Black. I love that it looks spectacular on it's own and droolworthy over Black.

Cult Nails Cruisin' Nude: A Day at the Races/ Summer 2011 Collection
Florida based Cult Nails is ran by the awesome Maria who really knows how to wow us with her amazing creations. This is just the perfect shade of nude for my skin tone but I am also in love with the awesome Pink/ Golden flashes that play hide and seek in this creamy base. This was my first true nude love.

Cult Nails Captivated/ A Day at the Races
Do I even have to explain why this is in my top 10 picks? I hope I don't lol...

Bettina Coutour: New Classics/ Fall 2011 Collection
This muddy Taupe is just so sophisticated and just a classic (no pun intended). Mostly I am madly in love with how it makes my skin look. It really plays well with my skintone and that really made this shade special for me.

Bettina Starfish: Resort Collection/ Summer 2011
This is, hands down, my favorite shade of Orange in my collection. It is just amazingly bright and juicy. When i think of Orange, a true shade of Orange, this is what comes to mind. I wish Oranges would photograph better but regardless this shade needed to be in my top 10 because I LOVE it!!

That is it for my Top 10 picks from International or Indie brands. I could have easily done a top 20 but I had to cut it down lol. This year I really got to experience different brands from different countries and companies of all sizes. It is nice to see what is trendy in other places and what smaller companies who are not so much influenced by media and fashion can come up with. I have not been blogging for very long but it seems like there was a slight boom in cool international and indie shades this year. A lot of brands also became a lot more accesible to us U.S gals thanks to etailers like Llarowe, Overall Beauty and Harlow &Co. I cannot wait to see what these companies will do in 2012!

Thoughts? Faves?

LTHP's Favorite Nail Polishes of 2011- Honorable Mentions

Hello and good evening!!

The year is coming to an end it is that time to pick our faves!! I've been all about these posts because I love seeing everyone's picks as their faves for the year. I didn't get to do this last year because I had just started blogging and I didn't really have much to choose from. I originally intended to only do a "Top 10" but the task of narrowing my list down from 57colors on my short list (LOOOL) down to just Ten was just impossible. So I'm doing things a little different for my 2011 Faves...

I've decided to break my picks down into different categories. I will be showing you guys my Top 10 International/ Indie brands in one post, my top Ten mainstream brand picks in one post and I have chosen Five "honorable mentions" as well. These will all be colors from 2011. Tonight I will be showing you guys my Five honorable mentions. These are colors that I absolutely fell in love with but they didn't  seem to get that much recognition from blogland. These are in no particular order. Let's get to it shall we?!

Zoya Kendall: Feel Collection/ Winter 2011

This shade is just dreamy. It's a soft neutral and a great go-to color. This shade came out very late in the year for Winter and it's a stand out because it is such a soft neutral shade. When I think of winter I think of sparkles and vamps and this color really detoxified me.

Color Club Nomadic in Nude: Back to Boho/ Fall 2011Collection
I remember when I first received this collection for review I started with this color because I thought it was the most boring... I ended up wearing it for Four days and not wanting to take it off. I later found out that this was a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Waking up in Vegas which kinda explained my strange attraction to this rather unusual Greige.

O.P.I On Stranger Tides: Pirates of the Caribbean Collection/Summer Brights 2011
When this collection came out I hated it.. And then I received them.. And swatched them and I was immediately drawn to this shade. A lot of people were going mad about Mermaid's Tears and Silver Shatter but this shade really stood out to me. I love the "dirty minty Green" quality about it.

China Glaze Pelican Grey: Anchors Away/ Spring 2011 Collection
I love Grey. Plain and simple. Even though I own about 68 different shades of Grey this one is really special due to the awesome Pearly shimmer that seems to float on the surface.

Zoya Mitzi: Mod Mattes/ Summer 2011 Collection
Matte? Check. Bright? Check. Awesome Formula? Check. This unusual Tennis Ball Yellow- Green really made my Summer vibrant. I love Zoya's mattes and this was is absolutely a must have for you ladies that enjoy some BRIGHT nails.

That is is for my honorable mentions. These are colors that while I loved them very much they came just a little short of my Top Picks but still needed to be recognized. These may be a little plain or boring to some I find them so pretty and refreshing. Tomorrow I will be showing you guys my Top 10 Indie/ International Brand picks. That is where things really get exciting!

Have a good nite loves! Thought?

Bettina Bliss Collection Swatches

Happy Humpday!!

Today I have one last Holiday Collection to show you guys. This group comes from the lovelies at Bettina and it consists of Three cremes and Three metallic shimmers. I am so stoked to see Bettina doing different finishes. While I love cremes, especially Bettina cremes, I really love to see companies step outside of their comfort zone and play with different finishes and colors than what they would normally do. So with that in mind... I finally get to show you guys the Bliss Collection.

On a small side note. I'm sorry about my cuticles in these pictures, especially my middle nail. I had a slip up when I was manicuring and kinda stabbed myself. So I am sorry for the angry- looking middle finger but at least the colors are still pretty awesome!
Myth.... Wow! This color is absolutely amazing, unique and beautiful. This pretty is a dusty metallic Purple with a Golden "frost" tied in. The interesting thing about this color is that as it goes on it looks very frosty and brushstrokey but as it dries the marks disappear and you are left with a smooth metallic finish that appears to almost be multichromatic thanks to the Golden flashes. The formula on this color is very smooth and easy to work with. This is opaque at Two easy coats.

Bordeaux is a sexy Burgundy creme with some slight Berry tones. It's an awesome vampy shade with an amazing formula. This color is a dupe of Zoya's Stacy but Bordeaux has a far better formula. This shade does better when applied in Three thin coats for a sultry opaque look.

Festive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say hello to my unexpected favorite from the collection. This color is a light metallic Olive green with flashes of Coppery Gold. This color screams Holidays and it is insanely flattering. Formula wise it is just like Myth

Cheers. A deep Forrest Green creme with some slight smokey tones. I will have new pics of this one soon. It is not quite this bright or Yellow toned. It is a really amazing Green. Quite similar to Zoya's Shawn. This is slightly darker and smokier. This polish has a very smooth and pigmented formula. This is fully opaque at Two coats.

Champagne. This is a light Chocolaty metallic tone with Golden flashes. This is basically Myth and Festive's Golden toned sister. Formula wise it is just like its Two siblings. This was not my favorite shade because it does absolutely nothing for my skin tone. I have a feeling this will be great for stamping.

Lastly we have Truffle. A rich, chocolate Brown creme with random bits of sparkle. I say random because you can barely see them in the bottle and even less on the nail. The formula on this color is also great and as much as I don't care for Brown this tone is actually getting to me (in a good way) because it has some slight Red undertones to it.

So I am pretty happy with this collection. Out of Six colors I am in love with Four which is not bad :D. I have to say my faves are Festive, Myth, Cheers and Bordeaux. Like always the formulas on these colors are great, smooth and easy to work with. These all have a really good dry time. Like I said before, I am super happy to see Bettina doing different finishes. The Three metallics in this collection really make me want to see what else Bettina can do. I really would love to see them do some more colors like the Disco Collection and I'd even love to see them venture into the world of Multichromes.. We will see :D...

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole by O.P.I Orna-ment for Eachother and Glitter in my Stocking

Hello and Happy Tuesday!!

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday. I got caught up with my momma (Yesterday was her B-day <3<3<3) and shopping for somethings and I just didn't have time to do a post. But today I am back with some super glittery and still quite Holiday nails. I got some awesome goodies for Christmas! Mr. LTHP really did good. I got the cutest little shoes. The Red Angel stamping plates, some OTT bulbs to take awesome pics with, Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift (OMG Smells amazing) and some Victoria's Secret goodies. We had an awesome Christmas and Muffin had a great B-day as well. She is Six now. Christmas came and went waaay too fast but it was still a nice day for my family and I.

So back to the nails. I went with two of my favorite polishes to come out this year. It's funny that most of my "top 2011" polishes are actually by NOPI because for the longest time I hated their bottles so much I'd avoid the brand all together... BUT with glitters and colors like they''ve been releasing lately they have fully captured my attention and my heart. These Two are some of the most epic glitters in my collection.
I kept it uber simple for this one since the glitter pretty much speaks for itself. I added flower stamps from no- brand plate A01 using Konad special White. I added some golden gems to accent the centers and topped the whole thing off with Two coats of SV. These glitters are a little hungry but nothing terrible.

Here is Three coats each of Orna-ment For Each other and Glitter in My Stocking.

I am absolutely mad about how much dimension these glitters have!
That is all for today. I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and got some great goodies. Now, to start planning my new year's nails....

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas!!! Holiday Watermarble with Bettina Nail Polish

Merry X-mas Morning and happy Sunday!

I hope Santa brought you all what you wanted. I don't know what he brought me yet because I've yet to open presents but I know they will be good. I will be back later or tomorrow and I'll tell you guys what I got. Tomorrow is very special as well. It is my Mommas birthday as well as Miss Muffin's!!! SO she gets tomorrow off but I will be doing a special mani for her birthday. Today I have a special Holiday watermarble that looks like little Holiday candies.
Mmmm candies!!! So for this marble I started with a base of one coat of Bettina Marshmallow. For my marbling colors I used all Bettina colors as well because I just love how they marble. I used Mojito, #15 and Marshmallow. I really liked how it looked but what is a X-mas mani without some glitter? So that's why I decided to add China Glaze's Party Hearty which is pretty much the ultimate Holiday glitter. To finish it all off I used Two coats of Hard Candy Mattely in Love because matte glitter is cool :D lol. Freaking love this!!

Here is the marble pre glitter. Here I had only applied a coat of INM Northern Lights.
I hope all of those celebrating today have a wonderful Holiday and all those warm fuzzy sentiments and such lol.

Merry Christmas!!

A Very Bettina and Zoya X-mas Eve!

Hi loves and happy Caturday/ X-mas eve to those celebrating.

Today I just have some super awesome layering. These Zoya Glitter Glazes are seriously just so much fun to wear. I was wearing a nice "plain" Bettina mani and in a matter of one coat of glitter glaze it was totally transformed into a festive, blingy and totally amazing manicure. I am still very much undecided on what I am wearing on my nails tomorrow. For some reason I keep going to red glitter... We shall see... In the mean time here is some Zoya and Bettina awesomesauce.
Let me just get this off my chest.... I love bar glitter!!!!!!!!!. Ok.. much better. For this I started with a base of Bettina's Bordeaux and Festive both colors from their Bliss collection. I really liked how they looked by themselves but I really felt like it was missing something which why I decided to glitterize with the awesome glitter glazes Kissy and Rina. It is a total transformation of colors with the glitters layered on top and I love how much the different colors in the glazes come through.

Ok, so here are Bordeaux(Burgundy) and Festive(Green). Bordeaux is pretty much a dead on dupe of Zoya's Stacy but in terms on formula, in this case, Bettina far surpasses Zoya. Bordeaux is a nice deep Plummy shade that is perfect for Fall and the Holidays. Festive pretty much took my breath away. It is a nice Mossy green with a shimmery finish. As you apply it there are brushstrokes but as the color dries the strokes disappear and you are left with awesome metallic, mossy Green nails. This color also has an outstanding Two coat formula.
Aren't these beautiful together? I really can't wait for you guys to see the Bliss collection by Bettina. It has some amazing and sultry colors. I am sooo ready for tomorrow! I can't wait to see what Mr. LTHP got me and for him to see what I got him :D.

Thanks for stopping by today loves!

Bettina Cheers Holiday Nail Art

Hello and happy Friday!!

Today I have some sweet and simple Holiday nails. For this mani I used one of my new Bettinas from the Bliss Collection, which I still have to show you guys. But anyways, here is a look using one of my new favorite shades of Green.
So for this simple look I started with Two coats of Cheers. I really liked the base color so I kept the accents simple. I sponged the tips with Bettina Hustle and Peace. For the stamp I used Bundle Monster plate BM and Color Club Perfect Mol-Ten. To accent the little tree I dabbed on some NYX Carnival and for the little tree toppers I fished out some Gold hexes out of Milanis Gold FX. Topped the whole thing off with some SV.

Here is Cheers all by itself. This Green is amazing. It is somewhat similar to Zoya's Shawn. But Cheers is slightly smokier and darker. Replace the Yellow tones in Shawn with Grey and you get Cheers. The formula on this color is amazing and is fully opaque at Two easy coats.
So that is all for today. It's a simple but fun look. The trees are too cute :D.

Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Cuteness with Zoya Nail Polish

Hi loves!!

Today I have a super cute mani using some Zoya and O.P.I Nail polishes. But mostly Zoya :D. The second I saw the gingerbread man stamp I fell in love with it. It's just so freaking cute. So for this one I decided to have some fun with it and create another Holiday Skittle mani.
I started with a base of Two coats of Zoya's Purity. For my Thumb and Ring finger I alternated coats of O.P.I Fresh Frog of Bel Air and Gettin' Miss Piggy with It  to create a fun Christmassy Mix of glitters. There are Four coats total of glitter. For the Candy Cane nails I used Konad plate M65 and Konad Red Special Polish. For the Gingerbread man I used Bundle Monster plate BM222 and Bettina #195. I accented the stamp with Zoya Shawn, Sookie and Charisma. How cute are these?!!

Here is a Picture of my base Purity and the mix of O.P.I glitters. I just looove Purity.
That is all I have for today. I hope you guys like it as much as I do. This was so much fun to work on.

Thanks for stopping by,

Merry Pinkmas with Julep Carrie!

Happy Pink Wednesday!

Good morning lovely ladies (and boys?). Today I have a super cute and girly Winter inspired design. I love how this turned out. It made me wish that it snowed in Florida. Fun fact: I am going on 25 years old and I've never seen snow... I really want to see snow... In the mean time I'll just gaze at my pretty snowflake nails. It's so much fun to turn Pink wednesday into a Holiday themed mani. These remind me of Barbie for some reason.
Eeeee! I just love this. So for this look I started with two coats of Julep's Carrie. OMG so pretty! To give my nails a snowy look I lightly sponged the tips with China Glaze White on White. Using Konad plate M59 and Konad White and Pink Special polish I added the cute layered snowflake stamps. I topped the whole thing off with some INM Northern Lights <3!!

Here is Carrie all by her self. It's an awesome shade of bright Bubblegum Pink. It is a lot brighter that my pics show here. I really love this shade. The formula on this color is really good and fully opaque at Two coats. The one thing I do not care for with Julep is their brushes are too long and hard to control.
So that is it for today. I hope you are all having a wonderful and short week. I am so ready for Christmas!!

Happy Pink Wednesday!

Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe Collection Swatches

Hello lovely people!!

Moar Glitter!!!!! Today's post is Color Clubs pretty Holiday Collection. This group consists of Six awesome glitter polishes that bring on the bling. It took me a while to get these swatches out because as I was trying them on I kept wanting to wear them as full manis. You will see why :D!
Holiday Splendor. This is an amazing polish. This baby is made up of small Green, Holo and Holo-y Green glitters along with some micro glitter all suspended in a Green jelly base. I love that this particular shade has a colored base. It actually made me wish all the glitters in this collection had a colored base. This is like a much Greener China Glaze Atlantis. Very beautiful! Two effortless coats.

Jingle Jangle. This pretty is made up of Icy Blue and Icy Purple glitter suspended in a clear base. I absolutely loved this one as well. I really like the mix of colors in this one. This is the only glitter that does not have holographic sparkles but it is still lovely. Three coats of glitter.

Sugarplum Fairy. This pretty is Lavender Glitter and Holographic glitter all suspended in a clear base. This one is super dense and only takes Two coats for opacity. I really really LOVED this one because the Holo sparkle is very noticeable.

Beyond the Mistletoe. This one is Sky Blue glitter and Holo glitter all suspended in a Clear base. This reminds me of O.P.I Simmer and Shimmer  but with a thorough sprinkling of Holographic glitter for good measure. Three coats.

Candy Cane. Pretty Pink, Soft Pink adnd Holo sparkle suspended in a clear base. Awesome Holiday glitter. Three coats.

Gingerbread. This one is so awesome. From what I can gather with my naked eye it is a mix of Gold, Copper, Gold Holo and Silver Holo glitters all mixed in a clear base. This one is soo freaking AWESOME! I love that there is a mix of different Gold toned glitters that give this color such awesome dimension.

I love all of these because I am a sucker for glitter. Removal of these was not terrible at all which is always nice. These all dry a bit dull and gritty so a good top coat is a must. These are seriously awesome and I love that while they are blingy and glittery they are not your traditional Holiday shades. I could not pick faves because I heart them all!!!

Which are your faves?
