Seeing Red

They say "Freak"...

I hate Chevelle.... lol.. Anyways, for today's late post I decided to throw some Red spam your way. I own the least Reds out of any color. Red is not a color I am naturally drawn to but once in a while the mood strikes and when it does I always wonder why I don't wear more Red. I have a love/ hate relationship with this color. On the one hand it looks good on my pale skin tone, on the other.. it's Red, therefore kind of "done. But anyways... The mood was striking and I started swatching my Red cremes I had yet to wear.

First is Bettina's Chic. This is a dark, vampy shade of Red with some Maroon undertones. I like this type of Red more than any other for it's richness and, of course, it's vampiness. The formula for this was great. A bit thin but well pigmented and easy to work with. This is two coats.

This is #15. This one is a bright candy toned Red. I am TERRIBLE as describing Red tones but my guess is that this would be a cool toned Red. I actually like this one quite a lot too. I love how it leans slightly Pink taking out of the very severe Red territory. Great formula as well, Two coats.

Garnet. One of my favorites! An awesome metallic Red tone with hints of Coppery goodness. It's rich, it's classic. You can't really go wrong with these types of tones. They are flattering on everyone and this particular one really speaks of Puerto Rico to me. LOVE! This was Two effortless coats.

And finally we have Flame. This one is an Orange-y Red. The name fits it perfectly. This is like a pin-up girl Red. Summery and bright I ended up really liking this color quite a lot. This was also Two coats.

And there you have my untried Reds. I love all Bettina Reds. They are fiery, have excellent formulas and they all scream of Puerto Rico. I really love that about Bettina polishes. They really know who they are selling polish to and they keep the colors bright, interesting and fiery. The formula on these are all amazing. I've yet to try a Bettina polish that didn't apply well.

Do you like to wear Reds?

  2. Red is my least favorite polish color...I almost never wear it. Occasionally as a pedi, but never on my hands. I admire it on others, just don't like it on me.

  7. You certainly should enjoy all the reds available, because they look great on you. Here in BRazil, there was a time that women only used nudes and shear colors. Red was used only for Carnival. Now, red is the new black. Always chic and classy. I used them a lot.
