Zoya Mirrors Collection Recap

Happy Friday!

Today I have a full recap of Zoya's Mirrors Collection. This is the "flashy" half of their Fall line up. To see swatches of the Smoke Collection just click [HERE]. This half basically "Mirrors" (get it, get it? ah.... I kill myself... :-\ ) the Smoke Collection with a slightly different, more "lively" version of the cremes. Shall we get started?
Marina. This beauty is a dusty denim Blue shimmer with a bit of frost. Thankfully the formula is magnificent and there is no brushstrokes when on the nail so the finish is very smooth and beautiful.

Tao. There is not a whole lot going on with this color. It is a light Grey with that same bit of frost as Marina and Nimue and I think I see just a hint of Green in Tao. I'm not too in love with this one because the frost effect is just a bit too strong.

Nimue. Now this is more like it. Ive shown this beauty recently. Purple metallic/ frost. Actually very pretty. One of my favorites from this collection.

Yara. This color is stunning! It is an Olive Green creme base with irregular shaped Golden glassfleck shimmers that have a slight shift to Green. If you love Greens, and even if you don't.. You will more than likely fall head over heels for Yara.

Neeka. Another stunner. This is basically Yara's Purple toned sister. They both have that same Golden/ Green irregular glassfleck throughout.

Jem. This pretty is the odd one out. This one is a lovely Burgundy/ Plummy shimmer that is so beyond flattering.

I think Zoya has more than redeemed themselves in my eyes for their little Summertime Collection dupe faux pas. These colors are so unique and just beautiful. I love that Zoya is one of the few companies doing some shimmers and glitters for Fall. Seems like a lot of collections coming out are only basic cremes. Every single color in this collection has an amazing Zoya formula. They are all opaque in two coats. Again I really love how cohesive this collection is. I mean both the Smoke and Mirrors collections compliment each other so well. I say job well done to Zoya for creating lovely "grown up" colors for Fall with a twist.

Which are your top picks? Mine are Yara, Neeka and Nimue.

  1. I love almost all of them! What about layering Tao over some dark colour, for example a dark purple or burgundy? Or even a navy blue? I think it would look great if it gets some of the tone!

  8. I guess I'm the only one not feeling this collection. Yara is the only one that seems unique and maybe Jem, neither to my taste. Others feel more of the same ole dark colors. Maybe it's because I'm feeling so summery and I'll turn around.

  9. I am so loving both collections....I really think Zoya hit it perfectly for fall. There are so many I want, I think it is best to just get all 12, just in case :)

  10. Yara is so sexy. It's my favorite from this collection and favorite Zoya polish PERIOD. I'm wearing Neeka right now though and I love it! Marina is also stunning. So is Jem but I already have Valerie so nothing surprising there. Well, why don't I go through all the Zoya's while I'm here?! Lol.

  14. I agree with your top 3 from this collection; they are so pretty! I'm actually loving this whole collection and hoping that Zoya does a really good promotion in the near future because buying all 12 at regular price is a bit too pricey!

  15. I heart this entire collection - both sides - smoke and mirrors both. It's my fav of all the fall collections. Marina is just what I was looking for in a denim shade with some fine glitter in it. I wish I had the $ to send all polish lovers a set of both smoke and mirrors! Would that not be fun? Even to send a set of each to my dearest friends that are polish heads that is and would appreciate the gesture.

  16. Oh and to change up Tao so you would like it more - I suggest playing with some overlays that are of course non frost overlays but not glitters either. I am thinking smooth flaky overlays or some others like Essie Kisses & Bisses comes to mind - also Essie Sequin Sashes. The latter has a few flecks of micro glitter in it, but that's what makes it magical - the very random/rare micro fleck that ends up looking surprising. Both would give a totally different look...Sashes is a champagne/peachy kind of sheer with a glint here and there - Kisses & Bisses is got a smooth finish sheer that gives a duochrom sheet flash of very subtle blue/violet/pink. The nice color of Tao would be there but changed up. Also I could see a cool looking Nfu-OH flaky like #39 if you are lucky enough to own one. There was a good overlay this year from OPI in that all kind of bridal sheer collection called I Juggle Men that also would give Tao a change up to tone down the frost. They keep saying frost is coming back...but I so hope not the old frosts. I had enough of them from the 60's on into the early 80's.
