Today I have a special franken creation. This is my answer to the new Deborah Lippmann polishes. You know the ones right? Happy Birthday in a Pink and Black base. I don't really know the names yet. Sometime ago the lovely Varnish Vixen posted about some franken dupes she had made and I decided to follow suit and create my own version of these DL polishes.
Cristina's Pink Thing is a mix of Ruby Kisses Hot Pink, China Glaze Rich and Famous, W 'n' W Party of Five Glitters, a whole bottle of NYX Carnival and some Orly clear. It's not a dead on dupe because my glitter is a bit more sparse and the Pink base is slightly darker but OMG do I freaking love this! For this mani I did Three coats of Cristina's Pink Thing.
I'm really happy with how it turned out. And I'm even happier about how much cheaper this alternative was... I just cannot come to terms with DL prices.
What do you guys think?
♥ Cristina
I love it.
ReplyDeleteOMGawd, I need this. I didn't even like any of the DL birthday glitters originally!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Especially love how it's sheer and the glitter particle are suspended in the layers!
ReplyDeletethis looks positively eatable!!
ReplyDeleteYour franken turned out beautiful!!! I like it better then DL :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute, I love it :)
ReplyDeleteThis is soo pretty and its so very close. I too cheap to pay for the real deal so I can myself making a dupe in the future.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, really maiden-like ;)!
ReplyDeleteIf this was really on the market I'd buy it! The DL's leave me cold but your creation is happy and vibrant :).
ReplyDeleteI love it. The franken looks so awesome and squishy! I love what you named it as well :)
ReplyDeletelook so pretty i love the franken
ReplyDeleteReally cute franken!!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Really lovely! And I really am digging the new photo position ;)
ReplyDelete-drools- LOVE it. It's like pretty little sprinkle cupcakes! Mmm, haha. xx
ReplyDeleteI actually love the color of yours. Hot pink looks fantastic! I like that yours doesn't have so much glitter either. I franked both the pink and the black from her set because I can't justify the price.
ReplyDeleteWOW I love this!!!
ReplyDeleteThis right here makes me want to start frankening!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYay! It's so festive and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!! I'm actually not in love with the DL Happy Birthday or the ones like it (I know, I'm weird) but I really like this one!!
ReplyDeleteYum <3
ReplyDeleteOoh, I really love this, how adorable!
ReplyDeletevery pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI really love this..the texture and the fact that it looks like a jelly mixture...
ReplyDeleteLooks fab - you came up with a winner! I have to admit, I have caved to DL prices. Her formula is so great. But I really love the base pink shade you have used here - it's like a great jelly/sorbet - you look right into it.
ReplyDeleteOMG OMG OMG que bello!! how can I have it!? sell it to me please!!! I love it!! :D
ReplyDeleteI love how 30 different bloggers can franken with the intentions of duping one polish but they all come out pleasantly different :) Mine has a lighter pink and no yellow glitter. I love them both! Very nice :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty, anything with glitter is I suppose:)
ReplyDeleteThe darker pink base is just perfect - like a punk version!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I need to make a pink franken to satisfy my lemming for Candy Shop. DL prices are very high, in my opinion, but I have caved twice.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love this, it's gorgeous and makes me a little bit giddy! I qould have called it Birthday Cake or Cupcake :)
ReplyDeletexo
I think this looks better than the DL one!
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to franken! I did both the pink and black tonight, my first frankens ever! Can't wait to wear them!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI'm not into Frankening yet so yes...I'm going to be getting the DL set, even tho I already have Happy Birthday. I am a DL junkie! (Hey it's *cheap* compared to my Clarins 230 *cough choke die*)
OOOH! so pretty I love the big chunky glitter.
ReplyDeleteI just loved it!
ReplyDeleteSo girlish!

I wish I had the time and the creativity to create my own polishes! All your frankens are great, and this is no exception! Love this glitter.
ReplyDeleteI keep coming back to look at your base shade here - I am in love - where do I get this brand??? Not even sure what brand it is - am going on the web now to try and see what comes up when I look up Ruby Kisses - not that means I will be able to find anywhere to buy it...life in a rural community and watching the $'s on shipping/handling all the time as it's my main way I have to shop.
ReplyDeletelove love LOVE. This is such a fun and happy combo - its like a nail of happiness. Great franken xx
