Lynnderella Mercurial

Hi loves and happy Sunday!

Today's post is my very first Lynderella ever and a total random act of kindness. See.. Sometime ago I had posted on LTHP's Facebook about how someday I would have a Lynn polish and my life would be complete then. Well to my surprise TWO lovely, amazing readers responded to my post offering to send me extra Lynn's they had and I was so touched. I mean... I knew polish people were nice and awesome but this took the polished cake... Girls were willing to make my month by sending me an amazing and hard to find polish just because they like my blog.. That is crazy to me.. And SOOO sweet and just awesome! Like seriously... Marnie and Bethany: You guys are the bomb and I hope you are reading :D. I am sooo grateful for this RAOK!

Today I will be showing you Lynn's Mercurial. This pretty made it's way to me thanks to the very lovely Marnie S. I cannot wait to wear this again.
To see more pics of Mercurial just keep on reading :D.

I am not %100 happy with how this looks.. Mainly because I am convinced that I picked an awful base color for Mercurial. I think the color I used matched the glitters and the base color of Mercurial too closely and it did not make the glitters pop against the base.
The look is cool non-the-less. Mercurial is a very complex color. It is a mix of different sized and shaped Graphite glitters as well as some Lavender Hex glitters all floating in a a shimmery Gunmetal Grey base. The base also seems to have some flashes of Teal coming through. For this I started with One coat of Bettina's Secret and then added Two coats of Mercurial. I think it would have also looked better with only one coat of Mercurial instead of Two. This is a bumpy glitter and it takes Two decent coats of TC to smooth it out. As much as the combo did not wow me, I still found myself staring at my hands constantly because of all the different glitters.
I keep reading that Purple is a good color to layer this over so I think I will try that next time....
SO... My polished life is pretty much complete at this point. I own Two Lynns and Max Factor's Fantasy Fire... I don't think I will be buying any polishes any time soon... hhhmmmmm....

Do you own any Lynderellas? Which are your faves? What should I layer this over next?

  1. Oooh I love this polish.
I covet many of Lynn's polishes but sadly, this economy squeezed my polish budget down to nil months ago so no dice yet! Haha, one day, one day.
What an amazing RAOK. :D Enjoy!!! The sweetness of nail gals never ceases to put a smile on my face.

  8. LOVING it...and know just how you feel about feeling complete as a polish hound when you finally get a Lynn polish in your stash! I feel the same way. I felt so badly for Llarowe with the mess she was going through recently with the launch of new shades and re-stock of other ones. I did not want to even add to her distress and try and beat my way in there to get my hands on one or three! Maybe when it calms down for Leah Anne (Llarowe) I will give it a go to try and get a few.

Funny, I just looked up and read Makeup Mermaid's comment about reading your blog more now your nails are shorter! I have to admit I prefer shorter nails. Mine like to default to their own standard lenght short of me ripping one. I have natural nails. They like to grow to maybe 4-5cm of white showing and they prefer almond shaping to keep growing. My thumbs will get a little longer at times - probably because they don't get much friction from the keyboard??? Who knows? They always have tended to be stronger than my other nails.

Congrats on your first Lynn. If I get brave enough to try and break through when poor LeahAnne is having a bit easier time of it, I will also pick out 1 for you.

  9. This post warmed my heart so much! I love you polish ladies!!! (((hugs everyone))) <3

I remember seeing Lynn's beautiful polishes waaaaaaaayyy back on the MUA nail board long before they were ever available for sale. I never thought I would be lucky enough to own one of her masterpieces. But it happened!!! I think she puts magic in those bottles along with the gorgeous glitters. :D

As for my favorite...it's so hard to say! All of them? Lol! XD Each one definitely has it's own special beauty. And as for what to layer Mercurial over next... I really loved steffels Mercurial mani - she layered it over Ulta3 Wild Berry. It really made the steely/graphite glitters pop! Any deep purple will do really. Enjoy your new pretties! <3
