Revlon Royal= Redemption

Hello and happy Friday!!

Today I have a re-swatch of Revlon's Royal. Remember [THIS] post? Turns out the bottle I had initially gotten was a bad bottle. It seemed like all the pigmentation had somehow settled and dried on the bottom of the bottle and no amount of shaking the bottle would make the pigment blend in. Well, I refused to give up on Royal so while I was at Ulta recently I decided to check out their Revlon selection to see if they had Royal available. They did, and lucky me I had naked nails so I did a quick swatch on my pinkie and the color was divine! Basically opaque in one coat... Thus proving to me that my first bottle was just not good....
So, I take back everything I said.... This color is amazing and the formula is really great. What you see here is Two easy coats of Royal. I'm so happy I decided to give this shade another go because I would have been missing out on a serious beauty.
I'm keeping it short and sweet today. I've been dragging out what little swatches I have left to post because I watermarbled my nails the other day and I cannot bear (bare?) to part with my awesome mani! Isn't this just electric!?

MMMMMMMMMM!

  3. What a coincidence! I have a crappy bottle of Royal too. All the pigment sank to the bottom. I stuck a metal pusher in the bottle and mixed it up and it's much better. However, if I let it sit for a long while it happens again. Otherwise, I really like Royal.

  4. Love this color! Sounds like it has a great formula (when it's not a bad bottle)!

  11. Because of your awesome post, I decided I NEEDED Royal and went on a quest. I went to Ulta (no luck, it's like they haven't replenished the core display in months), Target (still no luck), CVS (found it...but it was buy one get one half and like Ulta they hadn't stocked in ages and I didn't like anything else so I chose to move on), Kroger (on sale for $3.93 but no Royal), Walmart (nope, not there either), and finally Walgreens. At that point I was spent and ended up paying full price for it. BUT, it's mine now...lol.

  12. I had wondered a bit about your using a color you hadn't liked as the base color in your Fantasy Fire look. I'm glad it was a bottle issue, the color looks amazing! BTW, I think you can go back to a lot of the major drugstores and exchange makeup without a problem. If it was me, I'd try to get my money back (or even better, credit for more polish ;), LOL.)

  15. Absolutely stunning! I have to get my hands on this beauty - love the way it goes from bright to dark blue. Mmm!

And I know the feeling when you do a mani and just don't want to take it off again to do another swatch, because the one you've just made turned out so nice, hehe ;)

When will you be posting this wonderful watermarble design? :)

  17. I bought a bottle when I was out the other day based on your swatch. I love how bright, glowy, squishy and how (like you said) electric it looks. I don't know if there's a major light difference between my place and yours but mine doesn't look anything like yours :( Mine looks a lot darker than any of the pictures in both your posts and it doesn't look like a jelly. Yours looks...jellier if that makes sense lol. Your bad bottle looks even jellier than my bottle. Has anyone had that problem? I got my bottle at Walgreens so I guess I could try to exchange it to see if it's a bottle issue but I dunno...

  18. I have Revlon's Top Speed in Royal - it's watery but I worked with it. I used OPI's Last Friday Night glitter nail polish(Katy Perry Collection) over the royal. So far I had a few women compliment me on my nails :)
