Some Barielle Swatches

HI loves!!

Sorry for the late post. Today I have swatches of Two Barielle shades I just received recently. Now, these pics were taken with my old cam and capturing Falling Star was actually quite difficult so I will be re doing that swatch soon. I'm kinda bummed... See when I requested these I did not look up swatches. I didn't because I knew I'd love Falling Star and Blackened Bleu as for the Third color I requested.. Well... You'll see....
Barielle Falling Star
This is a really popular and well known shade so I won't go into huge detail. But basically this pretty is a creamy denim Blue base with a sprinkling of Copper glitter. I absolutely love the contrast of the colors and the unique look it creates. Falling Star has a great Two coat formula.

And now for "the bummer"...
Barielle Snap Dragon
This color taught me a valuable lesson.... Look for swatches next time!!!! While I love the shade of Green I am so not thrilled at the fact that it is a frosty finish... Just not cute at all. It is dated and it reminds of of colors that you might see grannies wear... Two streaky coats.
And there you have it. Falling Star is awesome and Snap Dragon not so much... Haha!

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I thought I was going to LOVE Falling Star. I fell in love with the swatches I saw and everything about it was just awesome. The formula on the bottle I have is horrible. It's thick and goopy and no amount of thinner makes this polish work. I was really disappointed. The colour is still awesome but the formula totally ruined it for me. :(

  3. Bariella can certainly be hit-or-miss. Falling Star? Hit. Myrza's Meadow? For me...Miss. Bummer. :-(

  5. I agree! Love falling star, snapdragon needs a matte finish, then it too would be lovely.

  8. I love Falling Star! I'm so glad that the glitter doesn't get lost in the base.

The green one is such a disappointment. I think that entire collection turned out to be frosts. Yuck! :(

  12. I have Falling Star and really love it - but I adore denim blues. The copper in it jut makes it all the more fun. So glad to see a swatch of Snapdragon as I see it listed on a lot of bloggers wish lists but never went looking (like you) for swatches. I know if it were available anytime I ordered from Barielle I would have nabbed it just on the name recognition from blogs - now it's off my list - not my kind of green at all. Sorry you got stuck with it. Wonder why I heard so much buzz about folks wanting it? it's a very odd green and not a green that is in style at all.

  14. I think this is the first swatch of Snapdragon I've seen. Too bad I already bought it. Maybe if I matte is as someone said above, or some other layering it might be okay.

  15. I agree, add a matte top coat and I think that'll fix the frost. As for streaks I saw someone somewhere use an eyeshadow swab stick (not sure of the correct term, but not the brush) and it didn't leave streaks. I haven't tried it, but it looked great in the pictures.

  16. I was going to say the same thing--matte! Also that would be a cute background for some spring flowers or other nail art, then you wouldn't notice the frost or the streakyness so much. Now that you have it, you may as well work with it :)

  17. Just a little tip - if you discover that one of your polishes is a "frost" you can sponge the last later to get rid of the brush strokes without losing the frost effect. I saw this somewhere and ever since I've rediscovered all my frost polishes!
