Etsy Mania!! Candeo Colors Orchid and Dolce

Good morning lovelies and happy Tuesday!

Today I have.. You guessed it! MORE Etsy finds! The shop in the spotlight today is Candeo Colors. I stumbled upon these Two pretties by, what I assume to be, nothing more that pure luck. I had never heard of this shop but these were the last Two colors she had available that day and I NEEDED them. Candeo Colors has very fast made a name for themselves and they sell out within minutes of opening shop. These are not easy to come by as it seems to be the case with a lot of these Etsy frankeners. But with beauties like these... Why would they not sell out within seconds?

Candeo Colors Orchid over Zoya Reagan
Orchid is a beautiful deep Purple-y/Magenta shimmery base packed full of Large Holo-y Hexes and smaller copper hexes in the shimmery base. This color could be opaque on its own but I layered it to give it a little extra depth and to make my bottle last as long as possible. I'm in awe of the combination of glitter colors and sizes. This polish is nothing but pure glittery awesomeness and sophistication.

Candeo Colors Dolce over Milani U Pinky Swear
Oh Dolce.... This is just yummy... I cannot think of a better word to describe this. It is a soft milky Pink base packed full of all different sized glitters in White, Pink and Violet. There are also some Half Moon glitters that I had no luck picking up but they are there. Once again, I layered my Dolce to make sure I don't run out any time soon. I love the look of this creamy glitter. The name is perfection.
I can't wait for mainstream companies to start watching these girls more closely. I don't want dupes.... But where is THIS kind of creativity in our mainstream brands? Lesbi-honest... We all love these Etsy frankens, and their creators are seriously talented ladies, but the low supply to the very high demand is just not working out. Also, the whole "stalking" bullshit is getting old. I feel like we are all giving ourselves heart attacks over snatching up even just one bottle. I cannot be mad at these ladies because we all know they work their fingers to the bone but I can still hate the fact that it's like the biggest C*CK tease ever! "Hey look at these amazing polishes I can make...-.... Oh.. But you can't buy any...."

Thoughts?

  5. I really like what I've seen from Candeo Colors so far. I guess I need to stalk their Etsy store too! I'm with you, my Etsy habit is getting out of control! There are just so many beautiful gems that I need to have!!

  6. These are both gorgeous! I really love Dolce even though I am not much of a pink fan. Heh.

I kind of feel the same about the whole Etsy stalking thing. I mean I'll try to get something from the sales when I remember they're having them / I'm actually on a computer when they restock but if I don't, I don't feel like it's the end of the world. I guess maybe I don't have to have them as bad as some people do. If I get lucky so be it but I'm not going to get all butthurt over it if I don't. There's always the next time.

  7. That's exactly why I started frankening. Too many absolutely fabulous glitter polishes that I can't haz... it was making me sad until I realized that with glitter base (I start with commercial premade sparse glitter polishes, since I don't know where to obtain glitter base on its own) and craft store glitters I can make similarly fabulous mixes of my own.

  9. I feel the same way. I know these girls pour their blood, sweat, and tears into these creative, good quality, GORGEOUS polishes. But you're totally right. Its a cock tease. I have my email notifications set up to go to my phone.. I've sped home from the grocery store, woken up at 4AM, went psycho for a laptop at a party.. just for a chance at some of the beauties. I've gotten quite a few but I'm getting tired of stalking. I'm not saying I want the mainstream companies to dupe these girls, not at all.. I just want them to dig a little deeper into the creativity barrel and throw some unique polishes like these into their collections! Also, I really love orchid, I think its gorrrrrrrrrgeous.

  12. I definitely don't want the mainstream companies getting on the dupe train--I like that I can support small businesses. We all do. Guess the stalking is just the cost of doing business.

  14. Ok first off, both colors are SO stinkin cute!! AND the bottle label too. AW! :)
I have not even tried to search Etsy for all these great frankens. I know it will be a bad bad thing (for my wallet). But I see them on blogs and read about the stalking and sell outs.
I used to sell my polymer clay goodies on Etsy, and I know the time it consumes to make and sell. You are right...it's too much demand for a few frankenfolk. I've only recently got into the polish blog/instagram/FB thing...and it's a lively, ravenous bunch! LOL! I'm guessing (hoping) there is enough demand to go around between both frankeners AND main stream companies.
    Wow...jabberjaw shutting up now. ;)

  16. These are so great! I'm kind of giving up on getting my hands on these indie polishes...I don't have the time to stalk them, with work all day, gym and trying to keep my social life alive. I would love if this stuff became more readily available.

  19. i would feel bad, but yes, i agree, i wish these sorts of polishes were more readily available. :( i don't have time or money for stalking, so for now i just look at swatches and drool... :/

  20. I so agree with you that it sucks that these are so hard to get. I've pretty much given up hope that I'll ever get any that I really want; if I do it will be a total happy accident. One thing it has done though is to start experimenting with my own frankens. I haven't started yet but I'm accumulating supplies.

  21. What annoys me about the etsy polish is that most of them buy the same glitter base and throw random mixes that are pretty. Anyone can do it. I can achieve the same at home mixing glitter polishes I already have, or layering. Not to mention that there is only 365 days in a year. I have seen polish collections that are 500-5000 polishes. You can't wear them all! I have around 300 and I'm overwhelmed sometimes. The only polish I buy now is completely different than anything I see, or replacing a sheer formula with a more opaque one. These random glitters are getting boring to me. When someone invents a mirror finish, or something that goes from royal purple to neon orange in a severe color shift, let me know. /end rant
