Happy Friday!!
Today I have, you guessed it.. MOAR Etsy polish!!! The shop today: Wonder Beauty Products. Something seemed unique about this shop and her creations and this particular mica- flake creation really caught my eye. And yes.... They come in a little jar!
So Hippie Fest is a mix of irregular shaped flakes in Blue, Green and Purple suspended in a micro Green glitter base. For this look I layered Hippie Fest over Butter London Primrose Hill Picnick. I really like this polish and the whimsical effect it creates. And to clarify the polish already comes blended in the jar. It is polish.. In a jar!
So when I saw that it was actually a jar of polish I was all....
But it became apparent VERY quick that this is quite the genius idea for polishes like this one as it made it so easy to pick out the shardy bits. She sends you your jar of color, a little mixing stick and a bottle of clear that comes with a brush that you dip into your jar. This particular polish does settle out and requires a good mixing before using.Thoughts on Hippie Fest? Thoughts on jarred polish?
adorable! love it over that pink
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks amazing. And that's such a different idea using a jar instead of a bottle.
ReplyDeleteLOOOOVE this!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so fuN!! love it and the application sounds pretty cool lol
ReplyDeleteSeems kind of genius for glitter polishes that tend to
ReplyDeleteA) Sink to the bottom
B) Require digging to get a variety of all the pretty glitters!
Cool :)
Thank you for reviewing Hippie Fest. I ordered Hippie Fest from Wonder Beauty (last Saturday). I have been wondering how the polish would look over colored polish. It looks Fabulous!!! I can't wait to receive mine:)
ReplyDeleteI think that is fantastic! A great solution to big glitter problems! The flakies are fabulous, and I love the name.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Why didn't anyone think of this before? Nice Picard pic, too. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, eye catching and innovative! Well done, Wonder Beauty Products!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good!!!! Not sure how I feel about the jar thing, I''d have to try it first!
ReplyDeleteDid you have to stir for each nail? I've used similar polishes in jars and I had a hard time with it! It kept settling out...
ReplyDeleteWow, this is totally groovy man. I mean, it is freaking awesome in every way. Thank you for bringing this one to us! It is really inspiring, this thinking outside of the bottle.
ReplyDeleteWonderful and colorful post. Again thanks.
very cool! random shard flakies are my favorite, they look so unique :D
ReplyDeleteLovely blog with so many interesting and inspiring posts! Love your work:) Would you like to follow each other?
ReplyDeleteI have a WBP polish in a jar and I love it! A little laborious but so fun!
ReplyDeleteit's super pretty. I like it a lot and wanna try those jars!
ReplyDeleteIf you order one that's not meant to be a layering polish (or you won't use it as a layering polish) the system is a lot less effective- it's very hard to get just the right amount of both each time you need more polish. But I do think it's a great idea for glitters that don't need to be opaque or perfectly even!
ReplyDeleteTotally ingenious idea! Do you think it will get thicker faster because more air is exposed to it?
ReplyDeleteI've made it a plan to order Esty makeup and polish. I'm so blown away with all the creativity!!
Very cool and unique!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! It reminds me of mermaid scales or something like that! :) I like the jar idea!

First let me say that this look is amazing! It looks like you have jewels on your nails. It's so beautiful. And the jar idea is genius. A wide opening to get out flakes like that would save me a lot of frustration. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOne of my first Etsy polishes was actually from them. I ordered Rhinestones & Pearls and was a bit weirded by the jar thing but it worked really well for the glitter.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really pretty glitter from them! I don't think they had it when I ordered mine forever ago. Hehe.
What a seriously cool polish--I'm going to have to check her out! The jar idea does sound totally genius for flakies and glitters. I'd be worried about spilling it all over my coffee table...though come to think of it, that might not be a bad look!
ReplyDeletePS: love the Jean-Luc macro ^_^
I love this combo! The colors go great together. I just checked out her shop and she has some amazing colors! Hopefully she doesn't get too popular before I have enough money to order. :)
ReplyDeleteI love these shards! I've never tried jarred polish!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna check her out too! This is so chick!
ReplyDeleteUsing jars might solve my frankening problem, which is that I never have enough empty bottles when I want them.
ReplyDeleteThe look is awesome, but I've heard using polishes in jars can cause such a hassle and the settling is awful, did you mix it for each nail?
