Hey it's Sunday!!
Why blab when there are awesome glitter- jelly sandwiches to be seen!!!
Continue reading to see some awesome sammies!I love glitter-jelly sammiches. I love them mainly because as long as you have jelly polishes and glitter polishes the possibilities and color combinations are endless. I love the encapsulated look of the glitter under jelly finish polishes. Want sparkle, but not TOO much sparkle? Do a jelly sandwich! Want to dupe your favorite Deborah Lippmann glitter? Do a jelly sandwich! Want to give your sheer nude a pop of color? Jelly Sandwich! You guys get the picture lool!
Revlon Sheer Seafoam and Orly Go Deeper
Pretty awesome right? For this sammy I started with Three coats of Revlon Sheer Seafoam. I actually wore that over night before I decided that I wanted to see how it would do as a jelly sammy. I immediately grabbed for my new Orly Go Deeper and did Two coats of That. Once that was pretty dry I did one more coat of Sheer Seafoam and Ta-Da! Beautiful Cosmic jelly nails!
Spoiled Trust Fund Baby and Essie Mademoiselle
I seriously LOVE this particular sandwich! For this I started with Two coats of Essie Mademoiselle then did one coat of Spoiled Trust Fund Baby. After that was dry I went back and did one more coat of Mademoiselle. This is a more "calm" take on a jelly sandwich.
Orly Can't be Tamed and O.P.I Care to Danse?
Doesn't this look like flowers or something? IDK but I LOVE it. I started with Two coats of O.P.I Care to Danse followed by Two coats of Orly Can't be Tamed then topped off with one more coat of Care to Danse. This combination has Spring written all over it!
Orly Right Amount of Evil and O.P.I Ya'll Come Back Ya' Hear?
For this look I started with Two juicy coats of O.P.I Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear? Once my base was dry I added Two coats of Orly Right Amount of Evil and topped it off with one more coat of Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear?. I loved how this looked like fish scales!I definitely need more sheer jelly polishes to be able to do more variations of sammies. Don't you wanna go play with your glitters and jellies now?!
Thoughts?
OMG...love the orange one!!!
ReplyDeleteThe orange combination looks gorgeous! I'm loving that one :) xxx
ReplyDeleteThese are so gorgeous!!! I especially love the second one (gotta get that Revlon!) :D!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I need to try this:)
ReplyDeleteThey're all gorgeous especially the blue one! Do you happen to know how the Orly Go Deeper compares to Milani Teal (Jewel FX)?
ReplyDeleteThese look like so much fun!! Love them.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
These are all gorgeous but the Spoiled/Essie combo takes my breath away!!
ReplyDeleteOooohhhh, I love all of them!!
ReplyDeleteTo me, "Care to Danse" & "Can't Be Tamed" together looks just like Lynnderella's Nosegay! Congrats :)
ReplyDeleteLove all of these. I am wearing a sandwich with Trust Fund Baby right now except its matte!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love them all!
ReplyDeletethe seafoam and orange sandwich's are my favorite! i haven't attempted this yet, and have no idea why. i need to get on that!
ReplyDeletewow wow wow!!! I have NEVER tried jelly sandwhich-ing lol it looks so beautiful!!! I wanna play!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so pretty! I like what you did with Revlon Sheer Seafoam! It's far too sheer to wear on it's own, so it's cool that you found a way to make it work.
ReplyDeleteThe orange combination is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous! I especially like the first and fourth ones.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with all the people going crazy over the orange combo!
ReplyDeleteLove these! I did my first ever glitter sandwich yesterday and I LOVE it!! I did a candy pink base, multi colored/shaped glitter, and a sheer pink on top. I can't stop staring at my nails! I will definitely be doing this more! I even tried out a bunch more combinations on a nail wheel a little while ago, I'm so into it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love jelly sandwiches! These are all gorgeous, I'm inspired.
ReplyDeleteOrgasmic baby! So in love with all of them. Think I need to go shopping now! Please do some more!!!
ReplyDeleteThey all look really pretty, but I especially like the first and last one! Revlon Sheer Seafoam is really pretty! Was it limited edition? This post really makes me want to go out and buy more jellies. I'm in a jelly mood now, haha. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure about Sheer Seafoam. I just recently found it on a "featured" display at Walgreens not Two days ago. I think it is a new color.
ReplyDeleteI really like them all, but the Care to Danse/Can't Be Tamed combo is my fave! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! You are so right!!! Excitement over heah!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are worlds appart. Milani Teal is in a clear base, Go deeper has a light teal base. Also go deeper doesnt have SIlver hexes and Teal does. I say you need both ;)!
ReplyDeletelove them all!
ReplyDeleteNow I need the Orly Go Deeper to go with my Revlon Seer Seafoam, I LOVE that one!! I actually bought the Revlon Seafoam to be underwear for my ModelsOwn Indian Ocean (it is perfect!). Your combo has summer and mermaid-licious all over it :)
ReplyDeleteok... I'm gonna be the NEWBIE to first of all confess that I have NEVER done a jelly sandwhich :( .... I seriously love it!!! my question to you is.. when I go "polish shopping" how do I know which is a sheer jelly polish?
ReplyDeleteWow. I HAVE to get the colors you used to do the orange jelly sammich!! They are all gorgeous, but that one just makes me want to stare at your nails for hours. Creepy, right?
ReplyDeleteI really love how jelly sandwiches make the glitter float! That first combo is really really gorgeous ♥.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these, especially the seafoam and purple one! However, I really want to warn people really strongly about how sheer Revlon Seafoam is-we're talking more than 5 coats, people! I have heard that you can increase the opacity by adding a similar tinted creme into the polish, though.
ReplyDeleteTip a polish onto its side. If you can cleary see the metal mixing balls inside, then the polish will be a jelly texture. All of the OPI NYC colors are jellies, and there are countless other beautiful ones out there as well. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI've read that it's limited edition, but I've still seen that display on and off in drugstores. I posted about it around the time I first saw in in April, warning people to stay away!
ReplyDeleteSee above, try adding a small amount of a creme like For Audrey, New Bohemian or I Need Refresh-mint.
ReplyDeleteYou can also check out the "sorbets" from the OPI Texas collection and Zoya just put out Three in their Birchbox blogger trio.
ReplyDeleteSo much delicious, sammichey goodness! I love 'em all, but Trust Fund Baby/Mademoiselle has got to be my fave. :)
ReplyDeleteMust. Have. Revlon Sheer Seafoam and Orly Go Deeper.
ReplyDeleteHi, do you have a photo of just Revlon Sea foam? I want to see what it looks like on its own. I've had my eye on it for a while now but its $8.99 at the Riteaid near me so I want to make sure it is worth it! :o)
ReplyDeleteUnless it is mis-marked, but it has been mis-marked for over a month if so. lol.
Thanks!
That price CANNOT be right! You might want to have them do a price check at the register. It is VERY EXTREMELY Sheer. I did three coats and it was barely a tint. This is a water finish polish. It will never be opaque on its own and your nais must be clean and unstained. I'll post a swatch pic soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Is Go Deeper from the first set of Glam FX because I can't find it... Or is it another name for Mermaid Tale??
ReplyDeleteGo Deeper is from the Flash Glam FX collection. There are Two Teal based glitters. Mermaid Tale and Go Deeper. For some reason I was liking Go Deeper a little more than Mermaid Tale.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I will check CVS or somewhere else. There are a lot of Revlon colors that are 7 or 8 bucks around where I live. I dunno, maybe I just need to move! lol. Thanks again!
