Deborah Lippmann Swagga Like Us and Sugar Daddy

Happy Sunday!!

Today I have Two metallic duochromes by Deborah Lippmann. I was lucky enough to receive these as a gift from the lovely people at Neiman Marcus- Millenia.

Deborah Lippmann Swagga Like Us
This is Swagga Like Us. This polish is in the same family as Chanel Peridot and O.P.I Just Spotted the Lizard. This is a rich Coppery- Golden with a Peacock tone duochrome. The duochrome is much more evident in the bottle than it is on the nail and that is my problem with all of these shades. They look SO mind blowing in the bottle but on the nail they are not nearly as spectacular. The formula on this polish is really easy to work with and it is not as brush strokey as I was expecting it to be. As it dries the strokes completely disappear. I used Two coats for this swatch.

Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy
Sugar Daddy is a lovely Champagne toned metallic with flashes of a Rosey duochrome. This polish is a lovely concept but it does not work well with my skin tone. I really like how it looks like vintage jewelry. The formula on this polish was also great to work with and much like Swagga Like Us the brush strokes disappear as it dries. Like many of these metallic duochromes this polish is not without its dupes. If you love this shade but are not feeling that price tag then check out Nails Inc. in Stratford.
I hope you guys have a great Sunday. I will have some comps of my suspected dupes really soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I'm kinda over the Peridot dupes but Sugar Daddy is GORGEOUS. I'm sure I've seen something like that before but I can't remember where?!

  3. I am thinking Sugar Daddy is super close to Orly Rage - an Orly that came and went way fast after their Xmas collection - I think it was a 2 color collection intended for NYE. It's not as brush-stroky either as this DL Sugar Daddy is showing here. I am super careful on what I pick up with this finish since I really lived through major years of frost finish. It's about my least fav finish...metallic so-calleds can really end up looking way to frosty for me often.

  4. Just looked up Orly Rage - thinking I saw a re-promote end of Dec 2011 because it was prominently on a new display late Dec 2011 - yet I see it originally came out Spring 2010 in Orly Foil FX Collection.

  8. Sugar Daddy looks nice but all those Peridot dupes are tiring.

  9. Sugar Daddy seems a bit old-grandma-ish to me, but Swagga Like Us is really nice! I like that it's a bit more warm-yellowish toned than Peridot or JSTL.

  10. They both look lovely on you! do you think they would work for stamping?

  11. Swagga Like Us is NOT a Peridot dupe! SLU is more of a yellow gold than Peridot's more bronzey gold. Google image them and you'll see the difference for yourself.

  12. @Impoverished by Polish- Nowhere in my post do I claim them to be dupes. All I said is that they are in the same family, which they are.

  13. Hi, Cris,
I realize you never made that claim, I commented because a few of the prior posters seem to have gotten that impression. :)

  14. I drool over the FLAG display at Beauty Brands, but never can rationalize $18 on a single polish. I did pick up DO Billionaire, a dark green on clearance for $10, so far its the most spendy of my collection. I really love SLY though. Greens are my fave.
