31 Day Challenge 2012! Day Eight: Metallic Nails

Good evening dahlings!

My slacker bum finally sat down to do today's challenge prompt about Two hours ago. Sammy and Rie posted earlier today. I believe Miss Rie had quite a fun night and was also runnin late today lol! My excuse? I got caught up with a hair color project over the weekend (still not finished), and had no time to do my challenge nails.
Also, a bit of news... I had a doc appointment earlier today and finally got an answer as to what has been making me ill, turned out to be Crohn's Disease. At this point I am just glad to have an answer and can finally get on an official treatment plan. So there's that...
I had a hard time coming up with a look for today's look. I couldn't decide what kind of metallic I wanted to go with... Glassfleck metallic? Shimmer? Glitter? Chrome-y? And then, there it was, like a shining beacon... My O.P.I Goldeneye from the new Skyfall Collection! It was a done deal...
Yeah.. I'm rocking a shatter! The base color is Three coats of O.P.I Goldeneye. Once my base was really dry I applied my Silver Shatter. The contrast of the Silver against the warm, Honey Gold is so much more awesome than I thought it would be. I topped it all off with some Seche Vite. The look was definitely metallic....

Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Metallic looks for day Eight!

  3. I love the gold and silver combo, and I think I've just found my NYE mani! I'm sorry about the Crohn's, but I hear you on the "Just tell me what's wrong so I can deal" front. I was the same way with my MS diagnosis. Best of luck and health to you.

  7. Hi Cristina! Awesome nails! I'm pretty excited about the OPI James Bond collection. I'm sorry to hear about your illness. My mother in law has Crohn's Disease as well. She has made some very positive health changes though and manages it quite well. But it did take her a long while. I wish you the best in your recovery. And as GI Joe says, knowing is half the battle. ;)

  12. So sorry to hear of your Crohn's. I run a group for folks who have a bone disease that is often caused by the steroids many need to take for their Crohn's, Lupus and some other diseases. Please learn up about steroids if the doctors have you on them. I am not a crackle/shatter fan but there were a few in the metal finishes I did like. This look very pretty. I have always been a fan of silver and gold together...and it was because of you, I went back and bought Golden Eye - I had passed on it first time picking up shades from Skyfall. I was so delighted when I did open it and try a swatch. It is unlike any other glitter or gold that I have.

  13. I'm sorry that you have Crohn's Disease. My husband has been diagnosed with that for three years now and it's no fun. He started doing self injections Cimzia twice a month and he's starting to feel better. Being gluten free has also helped him. Each person with Crohn's is so different. What helps one may not help another. Good luck with finding what works for you.

  17. Beautiful combo- I love the look of metallic on metallic! And I'm sorry to hear about the Crohn's diagnosis. I was diagnosed with Crohn's when I was about 10 years old and have been through a lot with it. My case is quite severe, so I've run the gamut of treatments... if you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop me a line! It's a tough thing to process, and sometimes you just need to talk to someone who has been through it. Good luck!!

  18. *Giant hugs* I am so sorry you got a diagnosis for Crohn's. But at the same time I am glad you got an ANSWER. Knowing is half the battle. And there are so many treatment options now--so I hope you find something that helps you feel better very soon!!

Your nails look AMAZING!!! I have to giggle, my little sister would NEVER mix gold and silver so that reminds me of her ;)

And I have to sniffle...I was *supposed* to get the full 007 set plus the 18K topcoat but got scammed on ebay :( Fortunately they are working with me but it is a PITA AND I still don't have them WAHHHHH.

    Feel better sweetheart xoxo
