Fun with @SugarpillMakeup and The Story of LTHP's Origin!

Good morning!!

I am so excited about this post because SUGARPILL!!! I've never been one for lemmings when it comes to nail polish. Which is ironic, considering the origin of my blog lol. I.LOVE.POLISH. That is a plain and simple fact. Lately though... I've been loving on some makeup as well. More like obsessing over it. I find myself watching countless hours of tutorials from my favorite gurus and lusting after the beautiful makeup they use.
Sugarpill shadows have been my most hardcore lemming EVER. I've lusted after Sugarpill shadows longer and harder than I ever have any polish o.O (True story). I practically want everything they produce. Have you seen their matte palettes (what a silly question lololol)? Sooooooon, sooon they shall be mineee!!! But anywho, for Christmas, my husband got me the Zillionaire Chromalust Pigment Trio. Quite frankly I wanted it just for the epicness that is Goldilux. I am SOOO happy that I got the trio because Hysteric has me in hysterics over how beautiful it is and Junebug is all kinds of sexy. I am aware they sell the pigments separately as well but I figured they would be like potato chips... Can't get just one. I was right. The husband did fantastic this Christmas!!

Last night I shot a quick vid on the origins of my blog. This is one of the questions I get asked most often so I thought it would be fun to share my story with my awesome readers. I'm really excited to finally be doing these videos and answering questions and such. I also have some tutorials planned!! Soon, soonn!!

To see close-up pics of my makeup look just keep on reading after the jump.

It is safe to say that Sugarpill is pretty much the best thing evarrr... I love every little thing about the brand. I had been itching to do a look with my loose shadows so this is what I came up with :D!
I primed my lid with the Urban Decay primer. I applied Goldilux to the inner corner of my eyes with a damp brush. I am still in awe of how intense and incredibly metallic Goldilux is, wetting it only made this effect even more amazing. I seriously.. I can't... It's just TOO good! I then blended Hysteric in my crease and up toward the browbone.
Can we talk for a second about how beautiful Hysteric is? At first glance Hysteric looks like a pretty shimmering Purple but it actually has the most amazing Green flashes that give it that extra somethin-somethin. I had no idea I would fall head-over-heels in love with it. I love that it remains distinctly Purple, even when Blended out. I cannot stand when Purple shadows go Pink, or Grey. I then went back and layered a bit of my Naked Cosmetic SE06 in my crease and blended it toward my inner corner. On my browbone I used a little bit of NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk set with BFTE Cosmetics mineral shadow in Whisper.
On my lower lashline is Goldilux (inner corner) and Stella (A little sample came with the order)on the outer corner. I did the cateye using Milani Eyetech Extreme Felt tip liner. On my lashes I used Maybelline The Colossal Falsies and some Ardell Accent lashes, #305. Speaking of lashes... Sugarpill also has some AMAZING lashes!

On my lips I wore Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten. This is such a beautiful shade of Raspberry tint.

Here is a full face shot. I SO need to do something about these roots in my hair lool!
That is all for today :D! I hope you guys enjoyed the video and such. I really am very excited about being a better you tubber and taking you guys up on tutorial requests!!

Do you have any Sugarpill products, which are your faves? Any lemmings?

  7. First of all, I just wanted to say that I love your blog! I'm pretty sure yours is my favorite of the millions that I follow. Nail art/polish pretty much saved my life when I moved away from all of my friends and family. I even decided to drop out of college and pursue cosmetology school instead. I've always wanted to start a nail blog but I have no idea where to start, so instead I just post them on Facebook. It's nice though, because it does keep me connected to my loved ones. Anyway, keep up the awesome work =)

  9. I started a nail blog 8 months ago, and I'm so glad I did! I found the blog Chloe's Nails, and I did the exact same thing with the Konad set that you did! From there I started reading more blogs and posting my own pictures on Facebook, and eventually started my own blog, Globe & Nail :) I'm really looking forward to the rest of your videos, I love your blog! :)

  10. I had been wanting to start a blog for well over a year and finally started it like 2 months ago. I love that your husband helped you get started because my boyfriend is also my biggest supporter! Keep doing what you're doing!

  11. I started blogging a little over a year ago, largely in part, because of your blog! I don't remember what prompted me to Google nail polish, but I remember seeing allllll of these blog results your blog was listed several times and I was just like "wuuuutttt?" I was completely blown away by the artistry and talent and PERFECT NAILS and it took about 5 minutes for me to be sucked in and there was no turning back!

My blog is still very little but I don't mind. I do my thing and I love doing it so that's all that matters, right? :-)

  13. I love the colors in your hair and would love to know how you have such vibrant color in your dark hair. Could you do a tutorial?

  14. I loved your video! I had a similar start to my blogging as well but I just got started about four months ago. I think I saw the same Konad video two years ago and ordered a set right then and there! Little did I know how large my nail stash was going to grow at that time! My husband was also the one who encouraged me to start my own blog - "You read enough of them. You should totally start one." Lol!

  15. Cristina, I just love your makeup looks! They are all so colorful! I also ADORE your hair, haha! I am makeup obsessed myself, but am still too shy when it comes to wearing really bright and colorful looks and get all, "Oooooh, I want to try that!!!" When I see looks such as yours! When it comes down to it, it has to do with confidence. I don't feel very confident wearing anything other than my typical neutral look with a pop of color. I really want to, I just need to practice. I have been slightly more adventurous and wearing more swaths of color as my main shadow color. I'll get there! It's strange because I have no fear when it comes with hair colors! Mine is currently a deep, deep violet that fades into a hot pink/magenta ombre and I'm thinking about adding some turquoise next. So I don't know why bright and colorful eye makeup has me so scurrred. Anyway, I love, love, LOVE this look! If you like good makeup and bright colors with good pigment check out Lime Crime palettes! I'm really sad they discontinued their loose pigment shadows, though.

  17. Gorgeous makeup and your video is so cute. I loved hearing how you started your blog. I have a close family member with the same problem as you and it took a long time to get diagnosed also...

My blog, Wacky Laki, is also all about nail polish. Funny enough my obsession started with the Zoya 3 free promo they did two years ago, same one they have running now. I started googling (yes, I google everything too) swatches to figure out what to order and discovered so many fabulous nail bloggers. I was completely in love and drooling over their swatches and all the pretty polishes. I decided to swatch and play with my sad little collection of 20-30 polishes. As I started following a few of my favorite blogs, I discovered nail art and stamping. Completely enamored after that and had to try it all. It has been a labor of love ever since. My bf named my blog. Laki means polish in Russian and it rhymes with Wacky so I though it was cute. :)

  18. I'm so glad you did a video! It's nice to have a voice to go with the "written voice", if that makes sense.

I started a blog about 6 months ago. I 'discovered' nail polish blogs about 6 months before that (thank you, Pinterest), and I was amazed by Konad, too! It was one of the first things I tried out. After that I collected a TON of polish. Then, I started taking pictures of my nail art on my phone and sending them to my sister and some friends. Eventually, I decided to start a blog so I had a place to document my creations and better share them with people. ^_^

  20. I've been playing around with the idea of starting a nail blog--I've gotten really into polish in the last six months, and I'm starting to feel like my nails actually look good enough for me to put pictures of them on the internet, but I'm just a little intimidated. I don't know how to get myself out there, I can't imagine anyone reading my blog other than maybe my girlfriend. I think it would be fun, because I always have a lot to say about my polish, but I don't know how to get started!
