Ew it's Monday...
But even that can't take away from how much I ADORE these two polishes from the Nicole by O.P.I Gumdrops collection. These are some of the first shades to grace my newly rounded shorties. I had been pondering trying a new nail shape for quite some time, so last week I finally took the plunge and went for some squoval/rounded nails. I must confess that I looove them shaped this way. I loved my squared shorties, but I am loving my rounded shorties even more. I must also admit that they are MUCH easier to keep up with. They are also growing out past my comfort zone, but I am actually liking how they look.
So I put these Two colors on last Thursday (8/22), I am still wearing them this morning, and they still look perfect! The only sign of wear is the gap between my cuticles and the colors, where the nail growth is showing. I'm super impressed with these two pretties and thoroughly enjoyed having them on my tips.
Nicole by O.P.I My Cherry Amour and I Lilac Gumdrops

Let us talk formula first. Both of these shades have great formulas, I did not even need to clean up around my cuticles. I used Three thin coats of each color, both shades were dry within 45 minutes. My Cherry Amour is a beautiful, rich Raspberry matte texture base packed full of holographic micro-sparkle. This shade becomes more and more sparkly as it dries and the holographic sparkles really give it beautiful dimension and a sweet, twinkly look.
I Lilac Gumdrops is a gorgeous Lilac matte texture that has a really pretty metallic sheen to the base, even once it is fully dry and matte. This pretty is packed of glassfleck-y Silver bits that light up the metallic Purple base. From afar it resembles Zoya Stevie, but upon closer inspection, it is set apart by the metallic sheen to the base and the chunkiness bits of the Silver sparkles.
I really loved wearing these. My nails looked positively yummy and sparkly the entire time. I am actually kind of sad to take these off because the polishes are still looking so perfect after all these days of wear. One of these days I really want to do an experiment to see how long these babies can go if I leave them be. Did you pick up any of the Nicole by O.P.I Gumdrops? Which were your faves?
Thanks for stopping by! Oh, and what is the longest you have had a texture mani last for you?
OPI Solitaire has been on my nails for 2 weeks and counting. I can't bring myself to remove it, I just want to see how long it'll last...
ReplyDeleteI visited no less than 15 different stores (Ulta, Meijers, and several Walgreens, Rite Aids, CVS's, and Targets) in my area over a 3 week period recently trying to locate these with no luck. I finally ordered them from CVS.com and they should be here today! I ordered Cinna-Man, Anice, and Candy is Dandy and now I'm super disappointed I didn't also grab Cherry Amour, your swatch is swoon worthy!
ReplyDeleteI've ordered My Cherry Amour but might have to wait a couple more weeks before it gets here. Your swatch is so pretty, it's making me impatient!
ReplyDeleteI actually saw some NOPI Gumdrops at Walmart a few weeks back when I was there.
ReplyDeleteLove My Cherry Amour, its so up my street. I love textured manis for long weekends and when I know I won't have time to change my polish. I also find they are good to touch up too if you happen to take a chunk of it off. Think the longest I went for is 5 days, had to change my polish but it was wearing like iron until that point
ReplyDeleteI really like My Cherry Amour! I actually saw the gumdrop polishes at Ulta the other day...though I didn't look at all the colors so I'm not sure if these two were in that display (if not, then maybe you meant just these two colors are CVS exclusives...?)
ReplyDeleteI picked up both of these. I've only worn My Cherry Amour so far, but I had the same experience as you - pretty much zero cleanup, great formula, great wear. I think I liked it even better with topcoat though, because it brought out the tiny holo glitters.
ReplyDeleteZoya Pixie Dusts will usually last a few days for me. They're my go-to for when I travel, because dealing with suitcases, zippers, and bags kills your nails.
ReplyDeleteLiquid Sand, though, always seems to chip on me. Like, within the day. I could use Bonder, I suppose, but I always forget I have a bottle in the back of my cabinet. :\
I love all 6 of these Gumdrops shades! I got lucky and picked them up at Fred Meyer (northwest US store) on a buy 2 get 1 free sale, about a week before I expected to see them anywhere. The purple was an instant favorite, and Cinna-Man has been a great "office appropriate" color, too. Really, I haven't found any of this set I don't like, I'm actually wearing Candy Is Dandy right now, and pink polish is normally *not* my style.
ReplyDeleteAs for textured wear time - most of the time I get bored and take it off (at about 3 days) before it chips. My favorite thing about most of the textured polish, though, is the touch-up ability! I usually start with 2 coats, and if I have a couple little chips after a couple days, I carefully touch up the chips with a nearly empty brush, then apply a 3rd coat of polish to the nail once the touch-up dries. I know I've gotten a good 5 days out of an OPI Liquid Sand with this method (probably Jinx or the red Minnie one) which is a record for me.
I'm also waiting for mine to arrive. Looks great!

I saw Nicole by OPI in my local boots for the first time last week - I really like the look of them but they're quite pricy. These texture of the gumdrop polishes is just lovely though - looks really rubbery!
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy to me how pricey NOPI polishes can be in other places!! They are good, but Man!!! These are AWESOME!! The texture is relly neat. Like colored sand :D
ReplyDeleteI live in CA and I found them at Bed Bath and Beyond.
ReplyDeleteI have had My Cherry Amour on my toenails (3 coats) since September 6th and it is still looking good. I added the third coat as a touch up when I saw the growth line at the base of my nails about a week or so ago. I'm removing the polish today but only because I'm ready for a new look.
