KBShimmer PT Young Thing & She Twerks Out

(**Press Samples**)
Happy almost end of the week!!

Today I want to share a look with some AMAZING shades from the KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 collection. For this look I decided to pair one of the extreme new holos with one of the beautiful textures Christy released. I never cease to be amazed by beautiful Silver holographic polishes. Part of me always thinks they will all look the same, but they never do. Basically, a Silver holo is like Black eye liner, or Red lipstick... You cannot have too many, and no two are ever the same.
I was also very pleasantly surprised with the texture I chose to wear for this mani. The look of it is super unique and complex. I was so happy to see that the KBShimmer textures are unlike any texture out there.
The outstanding silver holo is the, cleverly named, PT Young Thing. As the name suggests it is an intense platinum (silver) toned linear holo. When I say intense, I mean INTENSE. You can see rainbows on your nails even when it is not in direct sunlight. The formula on this color is fantastic and does well in Two easy coats. A perk to this holo is that the addition of a top coat does not mess with the intensity of the holographic effect.

The accent shade is one of the new textures. This pretty is She Twerks Out (lololololol). This pretty is a perfect teal jelly base saturated with matte and sparkling glitter. I love the how the blend of green, lilac and aqua glitters give this color its texture as well as a beautifully complex, layered, look. This color dried to a satin- matte finish and gets the texture from all the glitter packed in the base. The formula was suuuper easy to work with. I only needed Two coats for full opacity. Even though the surface was fairly smooth and the textured nails were not snagging, I chose to top coat them with a coat of Cult Nails Wax That... top coat. I didn't want to alter the matte finish, but I did want to ensure a quick dry time and extended wear.

Seriously though, how amazing is that holo... Even in artificial light you can still see intense rainbows!

KBShimmer rocks my socks off and that is all there is to it ♥.

#NailArtSociety Habit Denim Blues Kit

(**Press Sample**)
Happy Humpday!!!

Today's post features the Nail Art Society kit for April (I believe). This adorable set was all about the color DENIM haha. The featured brand is a new one to me, Habit. The blurb on the Habit site states: "Habit gives you the gorgeous nail color you crave AND strengthens your nails, all without the harmful chemicals found in other nail polish brands. Habit naturally strengthens nails with Myrrh extract. Myrrh reinforces nails to give them more flexibility without the brittleness you get from chemical nail hardeners. Myrrh is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Habit is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor, and is made without animal testing. Habit is packaged as sustainably as possible. We are the only nail polish brand made with a bamboo overcap. It adds to the beauty of our nail polish and means that we use less plastic. Habit is packaged in FSC Certified paperboard produced through sustainable forestry."
 photo DSCN9262_zps9206cb82.jpg
The Habit shade I got with my kit is the beautiful Belle Epoque. This is a creamy shade of clean Periwinkle Blue. The formula was absolute perfection. I was actually surprised at how opaque, but fluid this color was. I used Two easy coats to achieve a perfect, glassy smooth look.
This kit also comes with cute silver and gold water decals in cute zipper designs. Even though the packaging on the zippers calls them stickers, they are certainly NOT stickers, but water decals. I like that they are decals because with water decals you get a much cleaner, cooler effect that with stickers. I love how the zippers look so perfectly vibrant against the light blue base.
I finished off my look by accenting with some light yellow gems placed randomly on my nails. I sealed the whole look off with a generous coat of Seche Vite. I managed to wear this look for about Four days, when time came to remove, they were still holding strong and looked fairly flawless.

Have you guys heard/ tried Habit nail color? I really love the packaging!

How I Wore It: KBShimmer In Bare Form and Lo and Be Bold

(**Press Samples**)
Hi and happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a good and safe Memorial Day weekend. My weekend was hella chill and awesome. I got to go to my first "hoop jam", met some amazing people, learned new tricks and got all bruised up from practicing said tricks haha.
So, since I got in the KBShimmer Early Summer collection, they are all I've been wearing. Much like the Spring collection, these were much too awesome to just swatch. I ended up wearing most of them as "looks" or just paired... because... KBSHIMMAH!!!!! IDK what is this hold this brand has on me, but I love it!

Less is more when awesome colors are involved :D. For this dotted look I started with a base of KBShimmer In Bare Form. This beautiful nude holographic shade made a great base for some vibrant contrasting dots using KBShimmer Lo and be Bold. I love how the vibrant cobalt blue dots just jump off the nude base. I think I may have a new "favorite" color combination in nude and cobalt. I really love how the colors seem to make each other pop.

And here is a quick, sunny, look at In Bare Form. This shade has a fantastic, two coat, formula. I love how creamy this shade is, yet it still remains very linear in the holo effect. A holo for the office? Don't mind if I do!

The KBShimmer Early Summer collection is available from kbshimmer.com right meow :D. As you may have guessed.. I shall be sharing my "Early Summer" looks over the coming days ;).

Thanks for coming by today!

#FAILFriday- Sad Day for the O.P.I Summer 2014 Neons

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Friday!!!

Today I am sharing a manicure I had very high hopes for, and ended up as a FAIL haha. I have not done one of these FAIL posts since 2011 lolol... I had a good streak, right? It is not that I absolutely loathe this look, I don't. It's that I think I could have done a MUCH better job at it. I think my marbling skills are just hella rusty.
For this look I decided to play with the new O.P.I Neon shades. For this Summer season O.P.I released Six new neon shades along with a "special" white- creme base coat you layer them over to get the full neon effect. For reasons that seem to elude me now, it seemed like a good idea to marble with them. So I gave it a try...
 photo DSCN0379_zps233a7ecb.jpg
Of course I started with the special base coat, which is really just a white creme. It is no secret if you want your neon shades to really pop, and apply smoothly, a white base makes all the difference. For the marble on my Pinkie and Index nails I used O.P.I Life Gave me Lemons, Hotter than you Pink and  Juice Bar Hopping. For the marble on my Middle and Ring nails I used O.P.I Push and Pur-pul, You are so Outta Lime  and Down to the Core-al
I was a bit worried that they would not work at all for this technique because neons can sometimes spread funny in the water, or dry too fast. These Six pretties actually worked really well. I love how the colors kinda mixed with each other creating new colors in the swirls. Since I was not entirely pleased, and because it is me... I added a coat of O.P.I Desperately Seeking Sequins over my marble to hide/ distract from some of the imperfections.

The O.P.I neons should be becoming available at O.P.I retailers now. They are a recent release so they are probably still trickling into stores. I hope to do some more successful nail art looks with them in the future. The shades are really fun and have really nice formulas.

Will you guys be giving any of the new OPI Neons a try?

#IndieCollab Dollish Polish & Jindie Nails - J.F.K & Ms.Monroe LE Duo

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Thursday!

Who feels like a complete tool? I DO!!!!!!! Why you ask? Because I am just now getting around to posting this amazing collaboration between Dollish Polish and Jindie Nails. You may remember a few months back I shared some details about an ongoing monthly collaboration between Dollish and Jindie. They are releasing amazing duos every month inspired by famous couples through history. The duo I am sharing today is J.F.K and Ms. Monroe. This duo became available on May 16th, sadly it appears to be sold out on both the Dollish Polish Site and the Jindie Nails site. I'm guessing it might have been a feeding frenzy because these two babies are stunning, as usual :D.
You can go ahead and throw rocks at me for showing you these pretties now...

Both swatches are shown with a top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast for shine and smoothness.

Dollish Polish Ms. Monroe- Ms. Monroe is described by Dollish Polish as a cherry red jelly loaded with lots of holographic and metallic sparkle, plus some blue/purple iridescent small glitters and flakes.  Ms. Monroe is opaque on its own in about 3 coats. This pretty is so juicy and sultry. The formula was surprisingly easy to work with and the glitter spread is perfect. I did use Three thin coats to achieve full opacity. This beauty could also be layered to create interesting textures and "crushed rubies" effect.

Jindie Nails J.F.K- J.F.K is described by Jindie Nails as a shimmery cobalt blue with blue/green shimmer flash, loaded with gold & silver flakies, red metallic glitter, classic and light gold metallic small hexes and dots,  silver metallic smaller hex glitters and smaller dots, matte lagoon blue small and medium hex, opaque matte ocean blue medium hex. I love the shimmering blue base and the perfect blend of colors and textures suspended in the beautiful base color. I used Three thin coats for my swatch and had no issues whatsoever.

Once again Dollish Polish and Jindie Nails knocked it out of the park with this beautiful collaboration. I can't wait to see who they will choose as their next inspiration. I'm really not sure if they plan to bring any of these collab shades back, it really does not appear so :(. That said, stay tuned with these two brands because they are always putting out amazing new creations.
Dollish Polish Facebook  & Jindie Nails Facebook Go give 'em a "like" and stay tuned for future releases :D.

LTHP Quickies! Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Glosses

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Humpday!!

So, I was going through my draft folder and found this little hidden gem. Back at the beginning of the year Milani did a HUUUUGE release of new lip products. Among those products release was a brand new line of beautiful glosses. This range is made up 14, yes 14, new gloss shades.
 photo Desktop13_zpsc77d8eb7.jpg
The range of shades they released is just amazing, beautiful and perfect. There are shades for everyone here. The glosses range from nudes, to shimmery, to bright pinks, classic reds and trendy berries. These glosses feature a slightly sticky and thick, yet smooth and pigmented formula. If you are not a fan of sticky glosses, these might not be for you. That said, I found that them being slightly sticky might have made them wear incredibly well. One of the reasons I'm not a huge fan of glosses is because of how often I have to re-apply them. While I had to re-apply these, it was not so often that I was getting annoyed at it. They also feel very moisturizing on the lips, which I really like. Overall, I actually like the thicker texture of these glosses.
The packaging is really nice. I love how sturdy and high end they feel. These feature a long wand doe foot applicator.

Ravish Raspberry: A beautiful shade of vivid magenta pink gloss.
Pink Lady: A classic shade of blue-toned bubble gum pink gloss.
Berry Tempting: Right on trend with the pantone shade of the year, this shade is a gagagorg shade of radiant orchid gloss.
Mauve Fetish: This shade is a classic shade of beautiful mauve with delicate golden shimmer.
Luminous: This beauty is a sheer, shimmering gloss packed full of delicate golden and pink shimmer.
Mai Tai: This pretty is a magical shade of vivid coral with golden shimmer.
Bare Secret: A classic shade of soft neutral nude gloss.

brilliant gloss swatches photo DSCN6007_zps942d591a.jpg
Black Cherry: A classic shade of deep Burgundy gloss.
Brown Berry: A rich shade of maroon gloss with soft golden shimmer.
Red my Lips: A retro shade of true Red gloss.
Nude Touch: A sheer champagne toned gloss with iridescent shimmer.
Coral Crush: A sweet shade of muted  orange leaning coral gloss.
Sweet Grapefruit: A beautiful shade of muted pink toned coral gloss.
Rose Blush: A perfect shade of rosey gloss accented by pink and golden shimmer.

I really love this range of colors. Milani did a shade for every taste with this release. Of course I am LOOOVING the pinks and those sheer shimmery shades. I'm curious to see some of the more sheer shimmering shades layered over different lipstick shades.

Below are some quick lippy swatches of the shades Ive gotten around to wearing. Currently I am definitely obsessing with Rose Blush.

Milani Brilliant Shine Gloss in Rose Blush

Milani Brilliant Shine Gloss in Sweet Grapefruit

Milani Brilliant Shine Gloss in Ravish Raspberry

Milani Brilliant Shine Gloss in Red my Lips

Milani Brilliant Shine Gloss in Coral Crush

The Brilliant Shine gloss line by Milani is being sold wherever Milani is sold, as well as online. The puppies retail for $5.49 each, but feel like they should be WAAAY more expensive. I love Milani's ability to release an amazing product at reasonable price points.

Which are your faves? I'm leaning toward Rose Blush, Sweet Grapefruit, Pink Lady and Mai Tai.

#CFLBeautyBloggers go Purple for Lupus Awareness

(**Press Samples**)
Hi loves!!

This Friday some of the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida are linking up with some Purple themed posts. We decided on Purple for the month of May for Lupus Awareness. For my look I decided to got with some elegant v-gap moons in some of my favorite A England shades.

 photo DSCN0239_zpsa2890979.jpg
I started with a base of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple. This glitter is a sheer purple jelly base packed with tiny shifting glitters. The shift is mainly from purple, to pink to copper. I only did this to give some interest to the nakey part of the nails. The Keancolor glitter is mainly meant to be layered, but it still looked really pretty peeking under my holographic beauties. Then I added a coat of INM Northern Lights to aid in the dry time of the Keancolor glitter.
I used single chevron nail vinyls to create my v-gap look. On my Pinkie and Index nail I used A England Fonteyn. This is a marvelous shade of intense silver holographic. For my Purple shade I used A England Lady of the Lake, which is a beautiful, regal, shade of Purple with a subtle holographic effect. I accented my Ring nail with tiny light purple gemstones and sealed it all off with some Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat.

Thanks for coming by today and happy Friday!

Lac Attack Dreamer Spring 2014 Collection

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Tuesday my beauties!

Today I want to share my swatches of the Lac Attack "The Dreamer" collection. This cute set was released by Anastasia for Spring 2014. This is a really playful collection. There are four glitter toppers and a white crelly in this fun little group.

Lac Attack Dream- Dream is a cute "peach fuzz" topper. This pretty is made up of micro bars in yellow, peach, orange and white suspended in a clear base. The spread of the bars is great, I ran into no issues with application. I used Two coats of Dream over Cult Nails Nevermore
 photo DSCN9736_zps7d5f6a01.jpg

Lac Attack Believe- Believe is a white-based crelly accented by hexagonal glitters in Red and burgundy. It looks like little rose petals floating on my nails. The formula on this pretty is super easy to work with and does well in Two coats.
 photo DSCN9633_zps0e45a293.jpg

Lac Attack Hope- Hope is a magnificent blend of micro purple glitter and small golden hexes suspended in a clear base. This is a fantastic topper and creates amazing dimension when layered. I think this baby can also be worn by itself. I layered two coats of Hope over Zoya Hudson.
 photo DSCN9567_zps73fb2ee7.jpg
Hope macro ♥.
 photo DSCN9593_zpsd53b1ea1.jpg

Lac Attack Celebrate- Celebrate is a playful blend of square shaped glitters suspended in a clear base. There are black, pink, blue, green and lavender satin squares. I adore the confetti quality of this polish. It looks I went to a party and left with it on my nails :D. I used two easy coats of Celebrate over Zoya Dillon
 photo DSCN9528_zps1583f019.jpg

Lac Attack Imagine- Imagine is a gorgeous blend of circle shaped glitter (dots) in aqua, white and peachy pink suspended in a clear base. This is probably my favorite in the entire collection. I LOOOVE how the dots look like playful little bubbles. I used Two coats of Imagine over Zoya Cole.
 photo DSCN9407_zps79e018d3.jpg

The Lack Attack Dreamer collection is currently available from the Lack Attack site and retail for $8.00 per color. I am all about Hope and Imagine, they are seriously beautiful and just plain fun :D.

This collection is my introduction to this brand, and I am entirely just blown away. There are 12 new shades in this collection. Each shade is unique and so very inspired.

Lac Attack Fierce Spring 2014 Collection

(**Press Samples**)
Happy day of hump,

Today I want to share my swatches of an upcoming collection from the, always awesome, Lac Attack. This collection is made up of Six new amazing layering top coats. If you are a fan of shifting polishes, this collection is definitely for you. Each of these pretties create a completely unique look depending on what base color they are layered over. I am a huge fan of polishes like these because they allow me to create endless new colors out of my existing stash.
There are Four shifting glassflecks and Two glitter/shard toppers. I chose to layer all of my glassflecks over a basic Black creme base to get as much of the shifting effect to come out as possible. That said, the shifters (Unique, Sassy, Fierce, Fearless) look amazing over lighter shades and contrasting shades as well. The possibilities are endless.

Lac Attack Unique- This beauty is a micro yellow-golden shimmer  suspended in a, barely- there, yellow base. The shimmer is very densely packed and creates a beautiful "blackened gold" look when layered over Black. There was a slight shift to Orange at extreme angles. I used Two coats of Unique over my Black base.
 photo DSCN8485_zps29103e89.jpg

Lac Attack Fearless- The particles in fearless are a bit more "chunky" that those in Unique. Fearless is made up of gorgeous micro royal Blue glassflecks suspended in a, barely-there, blue jelly base. Over Black I was getting slight hints of a shift to Teal at extreme angles. I also love the space-y look it gives my Black base. I used Two coats of Fearless.
 photo DSCN9807_zps7a668b89.jpg

Lac Atttack Sassy- Sassy is the brilliant gilded Emerald sister to Fearless. This beauty is a beautiful light green glassfleck blend suspended in a , barely-there, green jelly base. Out of the Four shifters, this one had the most visible duochrome on the nail. I was getting hints of golden, yellow and dark green when I moved my hands around. I used Two coats of Sassy over my Black base.
 photo DSCN9783_zps5292d31e.jpg

Lac Attack Fierce- Fierce is the hot Magenta sister of Unique. This beauty is a micro shimmering blend of magenta particles suspended in a, barely-there, pink jelly base. I love how it turned into a beautiful Blackened violet when layered over a Black base. I used Two coats of Fierce over my base color.
 photo DSCN9758_zps2de65fd2.jpg

Lac Attack Daring- Daring is made up of small Silver shards suspended in a clear base. I love that she used "plain" Silver shards rather than prismatic. I love the look of "broken glass" it creates. I layered Daring over Zoya Rebel for a cool look.
 photo DSCN9487_zps59148794.jpg

Lac Attack Quirky- Quirky is a blend of satin white micro shards suspended in a clear base. I layered Quirky over LVX Monaco. This layering pretty creates the effect of "faux snow" and I love it. I used Two coats of Quirky over my base color.
 photo DSCN9703_zpsf9cb4787.jpg

The Fierce collection will be available from Lac Attack on Saturday May 10th; 1:00pm EST. Don't forget to head on over to the Lac Attack Facebook page to stay up to date on the latest news from Lac Attack :D

Zoya Awaken and Monet Swatches

(**Press Sample**)
Hey guys!

So, I figured... since I have the Zoya Tickled and Bubbly Summer collections in hand.... that maybe, just maybe... Now is a good time to post my Awaken & Monet Spring collection swatches. Can you say "slacker"?

 photo 20140429-192244_zps7d2021e1.jpg

Zoya Dot- Dot is a classic ballerina pink creme-jelly. Even though it is really sqishy in finish, the formula was fairly opaque and easy to work with. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN9309_zps9e82f749.jpg

Zoya Cole- Cole is my favorite shade in this entire collection. She is a beautiful shade of perfect peachy creme-jelly. The formula on this color is amazing as well. I used Two thin and easy coats to for my swatch. Shades like this can be so universally flattering. I love how tan they make me look.
 photo DSCN9376_zps4d676644.jpg

Zoya Rebel- Rebel is a soft sky blue with a subtle micro shimmer running through it. The shimmer gives a really pretty silvery/ golden, almost duochrome, effect. The formula on this color seems a bit sheer at first but is perfect in Two coats.
 photo DSCN9471_zps2d755da5.jpg

Zoya Dillon- Dillon is the seafoam sister of Rebel. The shimmer in Dillon appears more Silvery than Golden. I used Two thin coats.
 photo DSCN9502_zpsc61ed4c5.jpg

Zoya Hudson- Husdon is the Orchid sister to Rebel and Dillon. The shimmer in this pretty appears more Golden. I used Two thin coats.
 photo DSCN9557_zpscaec0af9.jpg

Zoya Brooklyn- Brooklyn is a frosty "White Gold" shade. Brooklyn is a little brush strokey. I used Two coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN9610_zpsab2cfdfb.jpg

Zoya Monet over Dot- Monet is a glitter topper. This polish is made up of iridescent hex glitters suspended in a, barely-there, pink jelly base. I had to add a boisterous amount of thinner to get this polish to work. As I received it, it was unusable. The formula was insanely thick and the glitter spread non existent. Once I added the thinner I was able to work with it, but it still gave me some troubles. IDK, I want to love it. t is really ethereal and looks so pretty in the bottle.... the formula leaves much to be desired.
 photo DSCN9365_zpsec2a7325.jpg

Overall, I am a bit disappointed in this collection. I'm not sure what, but something is missing for me. While the colors are really pretty, they don't feel special to me. I am SUPER disappointed in Brooklyn. A golden frost? Really?... And while I appreciate Zoya's effort with Monet, the execution of the topper fell flat for me. That formula is like glitter glue.
Strangely enough the shades I like best are the Two cremes, Dot and Cole.  Especially Cole... They are effortless and flattering. I almost wish they had released all the other shades as creme-jellies a'la Cole and Dot, I think that would have been a more interesting collection.

Thankfully, I am stoked on the new Summer shades. I really think they redeemed themselves with the Summer colors. I hope I love them on the nail as much as I do in the bottles. How did you guys like the Awaken collection? Any faves here?
