Fun with Pretty & Polished Summer Fun Collection

(**Press Samples**)
It is Monday...

... and the only thing that could make that fact a bit more bearable is these amazing Summer polishes from Pretty & Polished.  Today I want to share a look and some swatches I did (with and of) the Summer Fun collection. This release consists of Six new Summer holo beauties.

For the vertical gradient I was inspired by Marta of Chit Chat Nails and her textured rainbow look. I really loved her color choices and placement. For my version of Marta's look I decided to go all holo with Three of the shades from the Summer Fun collection. On my index nail I did Three thin coats of Pretty & Polished Firefly. This shade is an unbelievable, neon lime holographic. If glow sticks could also glow holo, they would look like Firefly. On my pinkie and thumbnails I wore P&P Living in Flip Flops. This shade is a wonderful grapey- purple holo. I used Three thin coats of this shade as well.
On my gradient nails I started with a coat of O.P.I's Put a Coat on (white base) and top coated it to create a glassy smooth white base. On my middle gradient nail I used P&P Firefly and P&P Lakefront. For my ring nail gradient I used P&P Lakefront and P&P Living in Flip Flops. Lakefront, btw, is the most beautiful shade of deep teal holographic.
These pretties were soooo amazing to work with. And, as you can see, they make for beautiful gradients!! I topped my nails off with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top. Side note: I absolutely adore how my ring nail looks like the most kick ass duochrome there ever was :D.

Pretty & Polished Poolside- This refreshing beauty is a classic sky blue linear holo. I used three thin coats for my swatch.

Pretty & Polished Summer Love- This pretty is a beautiful shade of light red linear holographic. It is possible my eyes are playing tricks on me, but I could have sworn I also saw a bit of a pink shimmer hidden in this shade. I love that it is a softer shade of red. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.

Pretty & Polished Sandy Shores- LONG LIVE NUDE HOLOS!!!!!!! This outstanding beauty is a creamy shade of sandy beige with a delicate linear holo shimmer. The holo in this shade is subtle and beautiful. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.

All of these shades have amazing formulas. With holo polishes I always feel like a good formula cannot be stressed enough. I really adore the range of perfect Summery colors Chels did for this release. The Summer Fun collection is available now from the Pretty & Polished online shop and retails for $9.00/color.

I would have to say my faves are definitely Firefly, Lakefront, Sandy Shores and Living in Flip Flops. But honestly, they are all wonderful and each one put a smile on my face. Which ones are you loving most?

Thanks for coming by today loves!!

Cult Nails It's a New Day Collection Look

(**Press Sample**)
Happy Thursday!!

It is a new day indeed. A very rainy new day :D... but I love in South Florida... I think I'd be worried if it WASN'T raining. The look I am sharing today is the opposite of what the weather feels like, I need that haha. For this look I went with ALLL the Cult Nails. Maria and Marta (of Chit Chat Nails) did such a wonderful job on this collection. The It's a New Day collection is definitely one of my all time favorite releases that Cult Nails has ever done.
On my ring and thumbnails I used Cult Nails Evolution. This shade is a light, peachy, crelly. I absolutely adore the squishiness of this color. I mean I just LOVE the color, period. Light peachy shades are my go-to, safe place, nail color. I wanted to have a sparkly accent so I topped off my peachy nails with some Cult Nails Walk of Shame.
For the gradient nails I started with a base of Cult Nails It's a New Day. This shade is the most perfect pastel, baby chick, yellow creme. The formula is squishy perfection. To create the gradients I used Cult Nails Falling Hard and It's a New Day. Falling Hard is a soft Barbie pink crelly with a great formula.
Since I have not stamped in ages... I decided to bust out some stamping gear... I used Bundle Monster plate BM- H09 and Cult Nails Radiance for the stamped details. I finished my nails off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I really love how these colors play together. They are a perfect complimentary trio and I can't imagine one without the others. Again I say, Maria and Marta did a wonderful job with this collaboration. These shades are still available from the Cult Nails website and retail for $12.00.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Hey Girl... Nice Melons!

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Humpday!

I'm pretty sure that as a beauty blogger in South East Florida... that it is a requirement for me to rock some watermelon nail art at some point in my life. I mean, IDK... melons, Florida heat... they just seem to go hand in hand. So, I did just that this past weekend. Some of the shades from Zoya's Tickled and Bubbly collections were the perfect choices for my fruity nails.
I started with a base of Zoya's Tilda. She is a bright, grass green creme. I wanted to add some pops of sparkle to my melons so I layered a two thin coats of Zoya Stassi over my middle and pinkie nails. To create the melons I basically just did some ruffians over all my nails, except my pinkie. I used Zoya Wendy for the coral-y parts of the melons. Wendy is a perfectly opaque shade of pink- leaning coral.
To add some sparkle to some of my melons I layered a coat of Zoya Harper over the pink portions on my ring and thumb nails. For the "seeds" I just used a plain black creme and a small dotting tool. I cleaned up the seams of my melons with a green Stripe Rite glitter. To finish everything off I used a coat of Seche Vite followed by a light coat of INM Northern Lights.

Here are Zoya Tilda and Stassi over Tilda. I really love how the shades of the Bubbly collection look layered over the shades from the tickled collection. Putting the sparkling, jelly based, shades over an opaque color really seems to bring out all the tones in the sparkly shades. I feel like on their own they all lean a bit too gold. They are all beautiful regardless though.

And now I must go shop for some watermelon because I really want some :). I'm thinking I also want to try my hand at more fruit themed nails. What should I do next? I think pineapples...

KBShimmer Run! It's the Coppers & Right as Reign

(**Press Samples**)
Hi guys and happy thursday!

I'm not feeling particularly chatty today.. So I'ma just get on with it... Another day, another KBShimmer pairing ;).

This regal pairing comes to you courtesy of the KBShimmer Early Summer collection. I chose to pair KBShimmer Run! It's the Coppers and Right as Reign because they looked so perfectly sexy together. Run! It's the Coppers is a magnificent shade of true Copper toned linear holographic. The holographic effect is outstanding in this color, and practically impossible to capture in photos.
Right as Reign is a perfect shade if Indigo crelly. I love that this shade leans more toward the deep violet side and not Blue. I didn't know it but I had been craving this color for a while now. The formula on this baby is just amazing and does great in Two easy coats. I love how inky and rich this color is.

I hope you guys are having a wonderful day!! Me, I'm definitely ready for the weekend....

School Spirited in China Glaze

(**Press Samples**)
Humpday humpday!

So, my little brother had his high school graduation this past Saturday :D. As the proud older sister that I am I showed up with some nails in his school colors. I'm sorry this photo is a bit "off". I took this pic with my iPhone because all the batteries for my camera were dead lolol. That said, I am so impressed with the photos my new baby takes :D. I think I might invest in an Olloclip.

My bro graduated from Southeast High School. Their colors are Blue and Orange. I used two shades from China Glaze's latest release, the Off Shore collection. The orange shade is Stoked to be Soaked. This shade is a perfect tangerine orange that has a subtle shimmer. I used two easy coats of this color. Once my base was dry I used some bolt-shaped nail vinyls to tape off the sections I'd be painting in blue. For the blue I used China Glaze I Sea the Point. This color is a magnificent shade of true Monaco blue creme. The formula is perfectly saturated with color and so very creamy.
To seal em off I used LVX's new gel top coat. OMG!!! I am SUUUPER impressed with this new gel top coat from LVX. It was ridiculously glossy and did not smear my nail art (no fumes!!!). It should go without saying that it dried insanely fast as well. I experienced some shrinkage, but I think it may have been because I did not properly wrap my tips with the Blue shade. Regardless, I'm super impressed with it and definitely recommend it.

A huge congrats to all the Seniors who had their graduations over these past few weekends!!

How I Wore It: KBShimmer Goldie Rocks & Let's not Coral

(**Press Samples**)
Are you sure it's Tuesday?!

Because I am lagging like it is a Monday, and I do not appreciate that :-S. As a friend of mine told me on Facebook; "when Tuesday feels like Monday it's a Netflix in bed kind of day". Trust me, I fully plan to heed her advice before I spontaneously combust. But first! Lemme show you some nails!

This Summery look features some of the beautiful new shades from the KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 collection. I started with a base of KBShimmer Let's not Coral. This shade is a perfect pink-toned Coral. I absolutely adore that it is pink-tones as most of my corals tend to lean to orange. I used two easy and perfect coats of this shade.
Once my base color was dry I used the half-moon nail vinyls to tape off my moons. To make my nails pop I went with KBShimmer Goldie Rocks. This pretty is a magical shade of bright Gold, and extremely linear holo. Photos could never do this shade justice as it is just so amazing and multi- dimensional in person.
I topped my nails of with a coat of KBShimmer clearly on top to smooth out the "seam" of my moons. I adore this color combination. There is something classic, yet playful and trendy about these and I love it!

I'm gonna go on the prowl for chocolate and wine now... That should make today better, right? XOXO
