On Wednesdays we wear RAINBOWS! With this colorful mani I mark the start of a "new era" in LTHP-ness. And by "new" I mean more like the good 'ol days when my blog was more of my nail polish diary, and not so much a review archive. With this small step "backwards" I hope to re-ignite my blogging flame. I will admit that this mani definitely re-awakened something in me... because COLORS! More after the jump ♥.
All of the colors used for my rainbow ombre nails come from the China Glaze Off Shore collection for Summer 2014. These creamy beauties were the perfect choice for the look I wanted to create. On the ombre nails I started off with a coat of O.P.I Put on a Coat (basically an off White base). To create the rainbow ombre I used the following China Glaze shades:
Sun Upon my Skin- vivid light yellow.
If in Doubt, Surf it Out- vivid light melon.
Feel the Breeze- classic and vivid bubblegum pink.
Be More Pacific (shade I am holding)- awesome vivid light lime green.
Wait -n- Sea - gorgeous vivid teal.
X-ta-Sea- classic summery vivid purple.
For the B&W stamped nails I started with a base of Cult Nails Tempest and then stamped using Pueen plate Pueen20 and Konad black special polish. I finished all my nails off with a coat of Seche Vite.
I layered my rainbow ombres with a coat of Cult Nails Mayhem to give the rainbows more rainbows (Yo dawg, I heard you like rainbows. So we put rainbows on your rainbows). I love how the holo top coat makes the rainbow underneath look super smooth and almost airbrushed.
I'm thinking a tutorial for the rainbow ombre might be a good thing to do, right? It was really fun to work on and now I want to do ombres with ALL THE COLORS!!
Thanks for coming by today!
