Nicole by O.P.I Seize the Summer- Negative Space Chevron Nail Art

(**Press Samples**)
Why, yes... I still wear pink on Wednesdays :D. This look is a simple "negative space" look I did using the standard single chevron nail vinyls and some shades from the NOPI Seize the Summer Collection.
A negative space manicure basically leaves part of your natural nail "exposed".  I started with completely naked nails. I placed the chevron nail vinyl towards the center of my nails. This created a division that I then colored in with my chosen Nicole by O.P.I shades
I painted the bottom half of my gap with Nicole by O.P.I The Coral of the Story. This shade is a super vivid coral creme. She leans more to the orange/ red side. This shade has a wonderful formula. The top half of my nails was painted with Nicole by O.P.I Leapink for Joy. This shade is a classic, true pink creme. This shade is balanced and also has a nice formula.
I accented the tips of my nails by sponging a bit of Nicole by O.P.I Shaved Nice. This sparkler is a super fun mix of micro silver glitter accented by white glitter and hexes in copper, red, green and purple. It is such a fun glitter.  I also cleaned up the seams between my naked nail and The Coral of the Story by using an Inglot glitter striper, #86. I finished it all off by adding one final coat of Seche Vite.

I love negative space manicures. They are quick to do, but look really interesting and different. Have you tried a negative space look? I also love these Nicole by O.P.I shades. These are available now (CVS, Kmart, Ulta, etc) and retail for $7.99. They have really great formulas and the glitter is really pretty and easy to work with.

  1. Great negative space nails! I like the glitter on the edges here!

  2. I really like this! The glitter accents are really nice.

  3. I still can't get used to negative space, but I'd rock this look with a nude in between ;)!
