BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette- "Brown Eyed Girl" Look feat. Pinky Paradise Geo X-tra Bella Brown Lenses & Maybelline Lavender Voltage

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Humpday!!

For today's post I want to share this eye look I did using my BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette. So, my natural eye color is a light Green. Sometimes they can look a bit more blue, sometimes a bit more icy Green. Therefore, I rarely wear Green eye makeup. I feel like Green eye makeup washes my eye color out. That is not to say that I don't love Green eye makeup. I think it is a beautiful color, and probably one of my favorite colors all around.
Enter my Pinky Paradise Geo Xtra Bella Brown circle lenses. I just love the look these lenses give my eyes (full face shots can be seen on my Instagram account @L_T_H_P). They add just the right touch of Brown, which makes my eyes look Hazel from further away. These Geo Bella Xtra lenses are some of my favorites. They give this dolly look that I am a complete sucker for. So anywho, with my newfound "Hazel" eyes I saw a window of opportunity to rock some Green makeup. So I did just that :D.
 photo BHcloseup-1_zps12158c1b.jpg
Since this look was done with a 40- color palette, non of the shadows used have actual names. I prepped my lid with an eyeshadow primer and proceeded to work with my BH Cosmetics Party Girl palette. I stuck to a softer color palette for a slightly smokey look. I found these shadows to have a smooth consistency. Some of the lighter Greens were a bit "dusty" and required extra layering of product to get some good color payoff. The Brown and more neutral shades I used on this look were all fantastic and have great pigmentation.

Since I can't name the colors, I went ahead and marked them with an asterisk on this image I got from the BH Cosmetics site. For the cateye I used Jordana Jade Jewel 12 hour eye liner. For my waterline I used Jordana in Espresso Last. For my lashes I used Ellis Faas Black mascara. I forget what I used on my brows :S.

And as a "bonus" here is the lip color that went with this eye look. This is Maybelline Lavender Voltage from their Vivids collection. On this particular day I prepped my lips with the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics clear lip tap and then applied my lip color over it. I am so madly in love with this shade of lipstick. While it is a very vivid shade of Purple I still find it wearable as it has enough Pink to take it out of Goth territory.

Is there a color family that you love to see on other people but don't care for on yourself? I think for me, it will always be Green. I don't have a problem slapping on every other color on my face, but Green tends to make me nervous. That said, with the aid of my beautiful Brown lenses I feel much more comfortable going into Green makeup looks. I can't wait to play around with this palette some more. I think it has a great color and finish range.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Fun with the Sugarpill Elektrocute Pigments and Cold Chemistry Palette

Good evening loves!!

Today I have a makeup post for you guys... Mainly because I have no nails ready to go just yet. I'm drowning in Fall nail polish collections and trying my hardest to get trough them as quickly as possible. So, this past weekend I got to attend The Makeup Show in Orlando, as many of you guys may already know, if you follow me on Instagam (@L_T_H_P). I always take these shows as an opportunity to really go kind of crazy(er) with my makeup, because no one judges you there, in fact it is embraced. I live in "small town Fl" and here ppl look at me as if I ate babies for breakfast because I am different....and awesome.. lol.
I was super excited to finally get a chance to play with my Sugarpill Elektrocutes neon, sparkly pigments. I also got a chance to play with my Cold Chemistry palette, which I got a few weeks back and just had not had a chance to play with it.
I also listened to you guys on my last #EOTD post and I am (with much trepidation) sharing full face pictures on this post as well. A lot of you beauties suggested that I show how the eye makeup worked with the whole face look so.. yeah :D.... Granted they are IG shots, but... baby steps :D.

Random #EOTD Spam featuring Milani's New Ultra Fine Liquid Liners

(**Some of the products in this post were provided for review consideration**)
Hello my darlings!!

I won't beat around the bush, I feel like garbage. IDK what has been going on, but these past few weeks I've been having more bad days than good. It's a bummer because for a while I had been feeling better for some time, normal even. And then, all of a sudden, I'm starting to feel garbage-y again and having a hell of a time working up the energy to do even the smallest things. Fear of food is also at an all time high, as it does not seem to matter how healthy or badly I eat. Meaning, no matter what, I end up sick :(.
I've not been able to paint my nails since last Friday. I've been wearing Zoya's PixieDust in Nyx and Vespa, they are still holding up fairly well. So, since I don't really have nails to show you, I figured I do a spama-lama-dingdong post of some #EOTD's I've done over the past few weeks. All of these feature different brands of eye shadows, but they all have something in common. They all feature one or more of the new Milani Ultra fine felt tip liquid liners. I seriously LOVE those suckers!!
SO guess what?! I am STILL horrible at taking notes while I do my makeup lolol!! I am SO sorry about any missing details on these looks. But as always, of you have any burning questions, feel free to leave 'em in the comments, or email me and I will do my best to answer it for you! Please enjoy some eyes-piration while I work on getting well ♥.

New Liquid Eye- Liquid Like Eyeliners and Shadow Primer by Milani!

(**Milani Products provided for review consideration.**)

Good morning!!

Hells yeah makeup! Anyways, you guys know I've been raving about Milani's new range of lip colors as well as Milani's new Grandissimo lashes mascara. Well, they also released some new liquid like- pencil eyeliners, a bold liquid line and a new eyeshadow primer. Much like everything else they have released, I was super excited to try these products.

I had never really tried Milani's eyeliners before. I have fairly sensitive eyes and I'm usually apprehensive of trying new products on them. That said, I was eager to give these a shot after reading rave reviews of Milani's previous eyeliner releases.

First up are the new Milani Liquid Eye- Liquid Like pencil eyeliners. I was really impressed with the quality of these pencils. I also LOOOVE the heavy shimmer they are packed with, keep that in mind when using these. They are not great for the waterline or tightline because they are so shimmery. These are also really soft and creamy. I accidentally snapped the tip off of the Purple pencil because I applied too much pressure when I was swatching it. That said, them being so soft makes them VERY blend-able and So easy to apply and work with.

Then we have some retractable Liquid Eye- Liquid Line pencils. I LOOVE retractable pencils because there is no wasted product. These are your standard Brown and Black creme shades. These also have a really smooth and creamy formula/ application. These do great in the waterline and have already become some of my new favorites. Good news about these liners(and the new mascara!!) they have not irritated my eyes. I've had a chance to wear them several times now and I've had no issues with tearing or itching. YAYAYAY!

And as if it was not enough to release awesome new liners, Milani also released a BOLD new liquid eye-liner. This pen reminds me of the fat Sharpies, but for your eyes. I was/am a HUGE fan of last year's Eye-tech Extreme liner and this extension to the Eye-tech liners is already in my epic win list. It has a nice sharp tip so it is actually pretty versatile in terms of the lines you can create with it. I had alot of fun playing with this pen and doing crazy cat-eyes and wings.

Another product to love! Milani released an eyeshadow primer this year. I had been pretty excited as not many drugstore brands have good primers, or a primer at all. And ladies, a good eye shadow primer makes ALL the difference in the longevity and vibrancy of your eye makeup. I really like the texture of this primer. It's creamy, but just the right amount of "sticky". I've been applying it with a small eyeshadow brush. It goes on nice and smoothly, I wait about 30 seconds before I begin to apply shadow. Finish wise- it is "matte" and nude, almost like BB creme for your eyelids. I've already used this primer several times and I can honestly say I really like it and it is a fantastic budget-friendly alternative to the higher end primers.

And now put them all together to get..... For this look I used all of the products above as well as some of last year's pressed powder eye shadows by Milani. I used Purple Shock, Shocking Pink, Olympian Blue on my lid with a highlight of White Lie. On my eyebrows I used the Milani felt tip liquid brow pen and on my lashes the Milani Grandissimo lashes mascara. Even thought this was a super quick look I did just to try the products out I actually really liked it and can't wait to re-create it soon!
Milani products are available at Walgreens, CVS, Kmart, select Wal-Marts as well as on Milani's website.

LTHP Quickies! Milani Grandissimo Lashes Mascara

Friday- Fryday!!

Do any of you guys  any exciting plans for the weekend? I don't just yet, but I'm still excited for the weekend! I've been feeling better this past week and I really wanna take advantage and go have some FUN!!
Onto the reason you're here ;)!! OMG MASCARA!!! SO Milani released a brand new mascara this year. This is the very first Milani mascara I've ever tried, and let me tell you, I am BLOWN away! I'm HUGE into mascara. I just love when you add mascara to an eye look and it brings it to life. I love when I'm having a lazy day and wearing a good mascara makes me feel that much more confident. Milani hit it out of the park with their new Grandissimo Lashes extreme volume mascara
You know how they say a picture is worth 1,000 words? Even my husband could not believe the difference! Mascara is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
I think it's pretty clear which is before and which is after right? On the left are my totally nakey lashes and the right is Two coats of mascara. I use the "wiggle" method to apply my mascara. They practically looked fake! On a random note, for these mascara swatches(?? lol) I prepped my lid with the new Milani Eyeshadow primer (which I will be covering soon) and Milani pressed powder shadows in French Vanilla, Pearl and Gold Dust.
The brush on this mascara is really big. I honestly had never seen, or used a mascara with such a big applicator. The second I started applying the mascara it was like a revelation! OH MY WOW, it made application effortless, and look.. I didn't get ANY mascara on my lids!!! It also left no clumps at all! No matter how much I kept going over the lashes they always stayed fluffy and separated, not clumpy at all! I am so impressed with the volume and length this mascara added to my lashes.
The final test for this mascara for me will be an actual wear test. My eyes can be so sensitive to mascaras, it's a little frustrating. Especially when I find a product I really LOVE, like this mascara. So I'm hoping it agrees with me when extended wear happens.

Milani is making a beauty blogger out of me yet ;D! I've been SO impressed with every single product they ave released this year and the Grandissimo Mascara ($5.49 online) is no exception. I have a few more new releases from Milani to share with you guys that I am SOO excited about!!

Are you a "lash gal"? What is your Holy Grail mascara? I think this might just be mine (I really hope it agrees with my eyeballs)!!

LTHP Quickies! Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eyeliners Swatches and Looks

Good afternoon darlings!!

Today I have another one of my quickies for you guys! This time around I want to RAVE about the new liquid eyeliners by my beloved Milani! They really know how to make fantastic makeup. When I first found out that Milani was doing a new line of liquid liners I was floored! I've yet to be let down by a Milani product so the addition of vivid new liners could only be a fantastic thing!
These babies have a very fine and firm felt tip which makes application a breeze. I love the packaging on these. These remind me of high end liners. I love liquid liners that come in this type of packaging because it makes it so easy for me to create crisp, clean lines with no effort.  These have a great application and formulas.
Below are some quick swatches of these liquid beauties.
Black Vinyl: A shiny, patent leather black liner. Classic and fabulous! This liner has amazing pigmentation.
Emerald **Glisten: A sparkling, metallic green liner. The formula on this liner is a little sheer but buildable. This shade did stain my arm a little. I'm curious to see how it does on my lid.
Prismatic Purple: A saturated grape Purple liner with slight Blue shimmer. This shade has a very dense formula and creates heavy lines so a light hand is best.
Sparkling Turquoise: A gorgeous shimmering metallic, light Blue. This shade also stained my arm a bit. That said, I am SO excited to try this beauty.
Black Gems: A pretty, sheer black with multicolor shimmer. I really liked that is a bit sheer because it can look like a shimmering Gunmetal or a shimmering Black.

Here is a closeup shot of the Two Black shades.

Here are some quick looks I did with Two of the liners. These two looks featured the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette on my lids (I'm not sure how I lived without this palette, it has become my go-to). I primed my lid with the Too Faced Candlelight eyeshadow insurance.
This look features Black Gems built up to full opacity. The look below features Prismatic Purple. I am seriously LOVING these and I cannot wait to play with the rest of the shades.
Did you know Milani has a new shadow primer coming out? And a new jumbo liner? I am SO excited for all these new Milani goodies. If you have not yet tried a Milani product, you should really change that!! Everything about this brand is fabulous!!

What are your thoughts on these new liners?

Fun with @SugarpillMakeup and The Story of LTHP's Origin!

Good morning!!

I am so excited about this post because SUGARPILL!!! I've never been one for lemmings when it comes to nail polish. Which is ironic, considering the origin of my blog lol. I.LOVE.POLISH. That is a plain and simple fact. Lately though... I've been loving on some makeup as well. More like obsessing over it. I find myself watching countless hours of tutorials from my favorite gurus and lusting after the beautiful makeup they use.
Sugarpill shadows have been my most hardcore lemming EVER. I've lusted after Sugarpill shadows longer and harder than I ever have any polish o.O (True story). I practically want everything they produce. Have you seen their matte palettes (what a silly question lololol)? Sooooooon, sooon they shall be mineee!!! But anywho, for Christmas, my husband got me the Zillionaire Chromalust Pigment Trio. Quite frankly I wanted it just for the epicness that is Goldilux. I am SOOO happy that I got the trio because Hysteric has me in hysterics over how beautiful it is and Junebug is all kinds of sexy. I am aware they sell the pigments separately as well but I figured they would be like potato chips... Can't get just one. I was right. The husband did fantastic this Christmas!!

Last night I shot a quick vid on the origins of my blog. This is one of the questions I get asked most often so I thought it would be fun to share my story with my awesome readers. I'm really excited to finally be doing these videos and answering questions and such. I also have some tutorials planned!! Soon, soonn!!

To see close-up pics of my makeup look just keep on reading after the jump.

My Current Obsession: Cateyes (and crazy colorful eyes)

Happy Humpday!

Today I want to share some recent eye-of-the-day (#EOTD) looks. My family was amazing on Christmas. My husband got me all this amazing makeup and a Zuca bag for me to store it all in. It was a really colorful X-mas!
Recently I've been slapping a cateye on just about every look I do. For a while I was intimidated by the look, and couldn't quite master it. I figured if I never practiced I'd never get better at it so I started doing lots of cat eyes and experimenting with different colors and angles and such. These are some of my favorite cateyes I've done (some have been... :-|).
To see some close-ups and find out which products I used just continue reading.

Fun with @NakedCosmetics Shock Effect Pigment Set and @Ardell_Lashes #EOTD/#FOTD Looks!

Hello my lovelies!!!

I know today is supposed to be a challenge day but I honestly kind of forgot until the last minute yesterday. By the time I had realized I was supposed to be doing my Supernatural nails, I was already shut down for the day lol. So, I checked with you guys on Facebook to see if it was cool to show you some makeup looks instead :D. I will absolutely be back at some point soon with my challenge nails.
These look feature (for the most part) an amazing pigment set I got at The Makeup Show Orlando, back in November. One of the brands that captured my heart was Naked Cosmetics. They display was a SEA of beautiful loose pigment and glitter sets. I practically flew over to their booth and was paying for my Shock Effect set before I even realized what had happened. I didn't really have a hard time choosing this "palette" out from all the beautiful sets because the colors were the brightest and they really JUMPED out at me. Don't get me wrong though, had I not been on a tighter budget, many more sets would have come home with me.
I am also, pretty much, obsessed with the new Ardell Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection lashes. I got Four of the Six sets, but I'm thinking I really want to go back for the Two I am missing. I've only worn Two of my sets so far but it is safe to say that I LOVE them. They are dramatic, unique and just plain fun! Just in time for the Holidays.
I am pretty much madly in love with these pigments and lashes. The pigments are very versatile! They can be used as eyeshadow, eyeliner and even on the lips. They can be built up to be very vibrant, or blended out for a pretty flush of unique color. I'm always intimidated by loose pigments, because I am not a fan of "fallout". I am happy to report that these are deliciously creamy in texture, they are easy to blend and build up. I did not have an issue with fallout at all. I am very pleased with the color payoff in these babies. I did use my NYX primer (Skintone) and my NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk as a base for these looks to really make the pigments pop. These can be worn dry, wet or with primer. They are really very, very versatile.

To read me rave some more about my Naked Cosmetics pigments, my beautiful new Ardell lashes and see close ups of these looks just keep on reading ♥.

Friday Wet 'n' Wild #EOTD Look Spam

Happy Friday!

Today I have a few eye of the day looks I've done over the past few weeks. I'm keeping things short and sweet today. Going crazy prepping for this weekend.  This weekend shall be crazy! The Makeup Show Orlando is this Sunday and Monday and I cannot wait.

Wet 'n' Wild Comfort Zone Look
This look features the neutral toned side of the Wet 'n' Wild Comfort Zone 8-pan palette. I LOVE this palette. For this look I used the shadows as labeled on the pans. My inner corner was highlighted with NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk and Set with Milani pressed powder shadow in French Vanilla.

Pop of Jade
This look features the Comfort Zone Palette once again. As I said.. I LOVE this palette. For this look I used the neutral side of the palette. For the Green liner I used the Wet 'n' Wild megalast liquid liner in Turquoise.

Dark but Fun
This look features the Wet 'n' Wild Blue had me at Hello 8- pan palette. I used a mix of both sides of the palette for this look. Mainly the matte colors in the palette.

All these looks started with a base of NYX skintone shadow primer. My mascara on all of these is Maybelline The Colossal and my brows were filled in with Milani Felt tip brow pen in Deep.

I hope I can come up with an awesome makeup look for this weekend! XO

Lime Crime Ocean Sunrise #EOTD and Full #FOTD Shots

Hello Darlings!!

Today I have the look I wore on mah face to acompany the nails I showed you yesterday. It's not often the opportunity presents itself for me to have a LOT of fun with colorful make-up and this past Saturday was the perfect chance for me to play with some of my favorite Lime Crime eye shadows.
I will also go into detail about my foundation routine. I've had a few girls ask me and I realized that I've been terrible about going into my actual foundation steps and such. Bottom line: I absolutely had SO much fun playing with these colors and I am so happy with how this turned out!
My hair color is currently Sally's Ion Brights in Magenta (cruelty free and vegan!). I am SO impressed with this dye so far. The vibrancy and color are holding amazingly well!

Onto the make up! On my eyes I started with a primer base of NYX Primer Pot in Skintone. I'm calling this my Fruit Punch Sunrise Look :D.
All over lid: LC Magic Dust in Cupcake Thief blended with Coral of The Story from the LC Aquatenea palette. The crease was darkened a bit with LC Magic Dust in Siren. On my eyelid I have LC Magic Dust in Circus Girl. I officially LOVE playing with loose pigments, a bit intimidating at first, but so much fun! And I seriously LOVE the Aquatenea palette to bits. The textures, pigmentation, wear and vibrancy are insanely amazing on these shadows!
On my lower lid I have all shades from LC's Aquatenea palette. I blended Nautilus Prime and AtlanTeal on the outer corner. On the inner corner I used Pear-ple and Seahorse Discourse. On the very inner corner I highlighted with a light base of NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk Blended with LC Magic Dust in Cupcake Thief. I'm pretty proud of how this look turned out. I've not gotten this bold in a while!
My brows were filled in with Milani Eyebrow Felt Tip Pen in Deep and for my mascara I used Maybelline's The Colossal Volume Express. This look was still going STRONG the morning after lol... I know naughty, naughty... I was tired when I got home lolol!

Now for my foundation... It goes like this. I start with a base of Reviva Lab's Make-up Primer. I swear by that stuff. I had only tried one other face primer ever, by Victoria's Secret.... Never noticed much of a difference. Now with the Reviva Labs make-up primer I get a smooth airbrushed looking surface. It's amazing! And one bottle will go a LONG way!
SO, then I follow that with a light layer of Garnier BB Cream. The next step is my bareMinerals(Original) in Medium Beige. I do light contouring with my Benefit Coralista Blush (MY FAVEEEEE!), Milani's Illuminating Face Powder in Amber Nectar and NYX Bronzers, Illumunating in Narcissistic and Matte Deep. Once EVERYTHING is said and done I finish off my entire face with a very light layer of bareMinerals(original) Mineral Veil. I've been using bareMinerals products since early 2010. I just LOVE their powder foundations and the Mineral Veil is the perfect finishing touch.
Blurry and color corrected but no airbrushing. That primer is just incredible. I did my lips in one of my all time favorite lippies and that is Revlon's Balm Stain in Lovesick. It is much brighter and deeper in person. I'm keeping a light hand when I contour because I am just now starting to get a hang of it and I don't want to make my face look ...."severe". I can't sing the praises of Benefit Coralista Blush or the Reviva primer enough, btw.

And then here is a far away shot of my face of the night :D. My eyes look like Sunrises out of the ocean!
I wanna play with moar colors!!! I need to stop mentally blocking myself when it comes to make up. With this look I just went for it, very little planning and it turned out pretty neat! I just need to do this more often. I had so much fun playing with all the pretty colors and trying out loose pigments for the first time and it going so smoothly! *pats self in back* The scene on Saturday night was perfect for this make up!!

I hope you guys like! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Caturday!

Today I have Three Face of the Day looks I did over the past few weeks. These are three looks that I really loved and turned out waaaaaaaay better than I could have ever hoped for.

#EOTD Spammy- Spam!

Happy Humpday!!

Today I have some Eye of the Day spammy spam for you guys. A few weeks ago I did my very First make- up post and you guys' response was a very positive one. You were all so amazingly sweet and kind to me! A lot of you requested that I continue this little experiment and I am happy to oblige. So today I will be sharing some more #EOTD looks with you guys.
Last time I did a makeup post my looks were really colorful and bold. This week I was feeling "natural" and lazy so I did a series of more understated looks. Little did I know that this would also be my last week as a part of corporate America... So guess what?! The eye looks are about to get crazier and more colorful from here on out!

LTHP Dabbles! My very first #EOTD Post!

Trying new things is always exciting...

Exciting and unnerving! I've been working up the courage to post this for a while.... For some months now I had been toying with the idea of featuring more than just nails on LTHP. Now, I know this blog is called Let them have Polish and all but... I'm a girl, and this girl also loves make-up! Make-up and I had a little fight and we stopped talking for a while but that has changed now. I was intimidated by make-up and color but blogging and being exposed to so many talented ladies left me wanting to give make-up a second chance!
With the encouragement of some lovely ladies in my beauty blog networking groups I started playing with my eye make-up and taking pictures. I'm not great at make-up but that being said... Remember when I first started blogging? I had no idea what I was doing then either so I'm hoping with time and practice my make-up skills will improve as well as my picture taking. Just like I did with my nails. So... Yeah! Here's my first Eye of the day(s) post!
These are all looks that were done early in the morning right before work. I've been thinking of calling this little experiment " Make-up for the working girl". These are VERY basic looks. I always see AMAZING stuff from makeup gurus like Vintage or Tacky, Nikkietutorials and my awesome friend Miss Phyrra so I figured I could feature some "basic" make up for those of us who are still learning :D...
