Monday, and November, already?! While I was cleaning out some folders I stumbled upon this quick look I did using Cirque Colors NYFW. The stamp was done with a Pueen stamping plate and Konad white special polish. The plate was Pueen 24.
This look was finished off by a coat of Seche Vite followed by a coat of Twee & Honey This is Mateness.
Cirque Colors is known for making exquisitely beautiful hand blended nail colors. They have created some of the most beautiful holographic shades I've ever seen. Their new range of cremes is no exception. Cirque's Metropolis collection is an on going monthly release of creme shades- which kicked off on September of 2014 with the spectacular cobalt NYFW. More after the jump.
Hello my beauties and happy start of a new week. Today I want to share this preppy look I did using some of the new shades in the Zoya Entice collection for Fall 2014. I am so enjoying this Fall release from Zoya. The shades are so classically beautiful, and perfectly coordinated. The Entice collection by Zoya has done a great job of reminding me why it is that I LOVE Fall collections so very much. To find out more about this girly Fall look just keep on reading.
Happy Sunday!!! I was just thinking, not long ago, that it had been a while since I last did a swatch spam post. Then, yesterday, as I was going through some drafts I found all of these. The timing was kind of perfect! More after the jump.
It is Thursday already?! Right on! For this Tutorial Thursday I went with leopard spots. I adooore doing leopard spot manis. They are super easy and fun to do. For this leopard printed look I used all shades from the LVX Summer 2014 collection. The finished look kind of reminds me of old porcelain tea cups, but leopard printed :D. More details and tutorial after the jump.
So.much. YES! Say hello to the newest nail color collection by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. This is the Unknown pleasures collection for Fall 2014. This collection is made up six, all- new, shades inspired by the runways of New York Fashion Week. To celebrate this beautiful collection launching TODAY; I brought all six shades together for this highly embellished look. More after the jump.
OMG much changes!! Such update :D. I hope you guys are enjoying the new look of Let them have Polish!
Not even going to lie... I've been completely obsessed with making my own decals lately. I desperately wanted to try this technique with creme polishes, so I did :D. I had this Zoya Tickled trio set aside for a water marble, but decided to try the color drops method instead. I am so loving the effect this technique created with these three creamy shades. How can I not love sweet cotton candy swirls?!
I painted my nails with Zoya Kitridge. This shade is an amazing, vibrant bubblegum pink creme. I am smitten with this flattering color, and its amazing formula. The formula is very self- leveling and perfectly pigmented. I only needed Two coats of Kitridge.
To create my decals I used the method shown in my color drops tutorial. For these decals I did space my drops out a bit more. Spacing out the drops created that petal- like effect. For my swirls I used Zoya Ling, and Zoya Rooney. Ling is a beautiful shade of true cerulean blue creme. She is a very balanced shade of blue. Rooney is a vibrant magenta pink creme. She is a classic that will look great on every skin tone. I just love the amazing pops of blue thanks to unique Ling. She adds such a great contrasting touch.
I finished my nails off with a coat of Cult Nails Wicked fast. Of course I added my "traditional" coat of INM Northern Lights because sparkles make everything better. I really enjoy using the color drop method to create marbled nails because it allows me to get more swirls on my nails than a watermarble normally would. I LOOOOVE watermarbles, but I feel like they look so much more kick ass on gals with longer nails. I feel like with the color drops method girls with shorter nails can also enjoy intricate swirl designs on their nails.
I am just LOVING the Zoya Tickled collection shades. The collection feels very cohesive, the colors really do flatter each other. I also love that all six shades look like they could work with all skin tones.. These creamy beauties look great on everyone!
When in doubt... Or just plain lazy.. DOTS!!!! This simple mani brought to you by shades from the New York Color City Samba Collection ;D.
I started with bases of NYC Ocean Blue and Palm Tree. Both of these shades have a great formula. They both felt a bit crelly to me, which I loved. I used Two coats of both colors. For my dots I used NYC Amazon Green. This shade is an odd and dated mint FROST.. A Mint frost... Anyways.. I decided to "make it work" by using it to create little pearly dots over my vibrant base colors. I think this is the only way I could ever enjoy such an odd color.
As for my base colors Ocean Blue and Palm Tree... They are actually quite wonderful! The formulas are really easy to work with, and I had no issues with staining. I finished off my nails with a top coat of Seche Vite.
I am so ready for the weekend :D. Also, don't forget that I am taking requests for tutorials! So, don't be afraid to throw suggestions out there!! Happy Weekend!
I hope everyone had a fun weekend! Mine was a bit rainy, but nice non the less. Summer is coming on reeeeal strong in South Florida right now, so I definitely welcome a bit of cool rain :D. Speaking of rain, it is pouring as I type this right now.... Ahhh Summer.
And speaking of Summer, Delush recently released a new collection for the season that is completely perfect. Allow me to introduce the Essence of Summer Collection by Delush Polish. This release consists of Eight shimmery beauties, each as beautiful as the last.

I hope you are all having a marvelous Friday! In this post I want to share some quick and fun patriotic glitter layerings that almost did not get posted haha.... That moment when you realize you drafted a post you meant to go up Two days ago.... Oy.....
The first pairing is all KBShimmer. The awesome starry blend is KBShimmer Red, White and Blue-tiful. Per KBShimmer Red, White and Blue-tiful features mini metallic stars in those classic colors. It features holo marine blue stars, added silver holo graphic stars, and finished with metallic red stars and a scattering of red holo stars. Swimming among the stars are micro red, sliver and blue glitters and micro holographic glitters for a sparkly finish. This limited edition polish will be available through the end of July. I used the method shown in my chunky glitter application video. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease with which the stars came out and stayed on the nail. I also love that the stars are tiny and they lay flat on the nail. The added touch of small hexes gives this topper a really fun twist. I layered it over KBShimmer Lo and Be Bold. I topped these off in some KBShimmer Clearly on Top.
The next starry topper is Salon Perfect's Star Spangled. This fun topper is a blend of larger satin-matte stars in Red, White and Blue and small holo silver glitter suspended in a clear base. Once again I used the same method of application. This topper also was fairly easy to work with. I did no fishing for the stars, they actually came out with ease. Shown over Cult Nails Nevermore.
The final topper is Salon Perfect's Grand Finale. This topper is a blend of holo silver bars, metallic blue bars and metallic red bars. Once again I was surprised at the ease of application of this polish, Another nice thing is that the bars actually stay flat on the nail. I used the same application method for this topper. Shown over Cult Nails Tempest.
Have a fantastic evening, happy Friday and thanks for coming by!
And to those of you celebrating today a very happy Independence Day. I hope everyone is having fun and being safe on this holiday! I want to do this quick post to share these cute patriotic nails with you guys. I did this look using all shades from Salon Perfect and some chevron Nail Vinyls. HOnest to goodness, patriotic nails are not really my style... But I ADORE THESE!!!
This look started with a base of Salon Perfect Sugar Cube. This shade is a standard white creme with a nice formula. Once my base was fully dry I placed one of the wider chevron Nail Vinyls in the center of my nail to create the color-blocked look. For the red portions I usedSalon Perfect Paint the Town Red, which is a true red jelly-ish shade. For the blue portions I used Salon Perfect Wild Blue Yonder, which is a beautiful shade of creamy sky blue with a slight shimmer.
To clean up the "seams" of where the color meets the white I used some red and blue glitter striper polishes from Stripe Rite. The finishing touch was to add some more red, white and blue accents using Salon Perfect's Save me a Spot, which is a mix of R,W and B dots in a clear base. I just blobbed out some of the polish and picked out the dots individually to place on my nails. I finished it all off with a generous coat of Seche Vite.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all enjoy your holiday, and those of you with a long weekend, have fun!!!
... and the only thing that could make that fact a bit more bearable is these amazing Summer polishes from Pretty & Polished. Today I want to share a look and some swatches I did (with and of) the Summer Fun collection. This release consists of Six new Summer holo beauties.
For the vertical gradient I was inspired by Marta of Chit Chat Nails and her textured rainbow look. I really loved her color choices and placement. For my version of Marta's look I decided to go all holo with Three of the shades from the Summer Fun collection. On my index nail I did Three thin coats of Pretty & Polished Firefly. This shade is an unbelievable, neon lime holographic. If glow sticks could also glow holo, they would look like Firefly. On my pinkie and thumbnails I wore P&P Living in Flip Flops. This shade is a wonderful grapey- purple holo. I used Three thin coats of this shade as well.
On my gradient nails I started with a coat of O.P.I's Put a Coat on (white base) and top coated it to create a glassy smooth white base. On my middle gradient nail I used P&P Firefly and P&P Lakefront. For my ring nail gradient I used P&P Lakefront and P&P Living in Flip Flops.Lakefront, btw, is the most beautiful shade of deep teal holographic.
These pretties were soooo amazing to work with. And, as you can see, they make for beautiful gradients!! I topped my nails off with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top. Side note: I absolutely adore how my ring nail looks like the most kick ass duochrome there ever was :D.
Pretty & Polished Poolside- This refreshing beauty is a classic sky blue linear holo. I used three thin coats for my swatch.
Pretty & Polished Summer Love- This pretty is a beautiful shade of light red linear holographic. It is possible my eyes are playing tricks on me, but I could have sworn I also saw a bit of a pink shimmer hidden in this shade. I love that it is a softer shade of red. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.
Pretty & Polished Sandy Shores- LONG LIVE NUDE HOLOS!!!!!!! This outstanding beauty is a creamy shade of sandy beige with a delicate linear holo shimmer. The holo in this shade is subtle and beautiful. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.
I would have to say my faves are definitely Firefly, Lakefront, Sandy Shores and Living in Flip Flops. But honestly, they are all wonderful and each one put a smile on my face. Which ones are you loving most?
So, my little brother had his high school graduation this past Saturday :D. As the proud older sister that I am I showed up with some nails in his school colors. I'm sorry this photo is a bit "off". I took this pic with my iPhone because all the batteries for my camera were dead lolol. That said, I am so impressed with the photos my new baby takes :D. I think I might invest in an Olloclip.
My bro graduated from Southeast High School. Their colors are Blue and Orange. I used two shades from China Glaze's latest release, the Off Shore collection. The orange shade is Stoked to be Soaked. This shade is a perfect tangerine orange that has a subtle shimmer. I used two easy coats of this color. Once my base was dry I used some bolt-shaped nail vinyls to tape off the sections I'd be painting in blue. For the blue I used China Glaze I Sea the Point. This color is a magnificent shade of true Monaco blue creme. The formula is perfectly saturated with color and so very creamy.
To seal em off I used LVX's new gel top coat. OMG!!! I am SUUUPER impressed with this new gel top coat from LVX. It was ridiculously glossy and did not smear my nail art (no fumes!!!). It should go without saying that it dried insanely fast as well. I experienced some shrinkage, but I think it may have been because I did not properly wrap my tips with the Blue shade. Regardless, I'm super impressed with it and definitely recommend it.
A huge congrats to all the Seniors who had their graduations over these past few weekends!!
Today's post features the Nail Art Society kit for April (I believe). This adorable set was all about the color DENIM haha. The featured brand is a new one to me,Habit. The blurb on the Habit site states: "Habit gives you the gorgeous nail color you crave AND strengthens your nails, all without the harmful chemicals found in other nail polish brands. Habit naturally strengthens nails with Myrrh extract. Myrrh reinforces nails to give them more flexibility without the brittleness you get from chemical nail hardeners. Myrrh is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Habit is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor, and is made without animal testing. Habit is packaged as sustainably as possible. We are the only nail polish brand made with a bamboo overcap. It adds to the beauty of our nail polish and means that we use less plastic. Habit is packaged in FSC Certified paperboard produced through sustainable forestry."
The Habit shade I got with my kit is the beautiful Belle Epoque. This is a creamy shade of clean Periwinkle Blue. The formula was absolute perfection. I was actually surprised at how opaque, but fluid this color was. I used Two easy coats to achieve a perfect, glassy smooth look.
This kit also comes with cute silver and gold water decals in cute zipper designs. Even though the packaging on the zippers calls them stickers, they are certainly NOT stickers, but water decals. I like that they are decals because with water decals you get a much cleaner, cooler effect that with stickers. I love how the zippers look so perfectly vibrant against the light blue base.
I finished off my look by accenting with some light yellow gems placed randomly on my nails. I sealed the whole look off with a generous coat of Seche Vite. I managed to wear this look for about Four days, when time came to remove, they were still holding strong and looked fairly flawless.
Have you guys heard/ tried Habit nail color? I really love the packaging!
I hope everyone had a good and safe Memorial Day weekend. My weekend was hella chill and awesome. I got to go to my first "hoop jam", met some amazing people, learned new tricks and got all bruised up from practicing said tricks haha.
So, since I got in the KBShimmer Early Summer collection, they are all I've been wearing. Much like the Spring collection, these were much too awesome to just swatch. I ended up wearing most of them as "looks" or just paired... because... KBSHIMMAH!!!!! IDK what is this hold this brand has on me, but I love it!
Less is more when awesome colors are involved :D. For this dotted look I started with a base of KBShimmer In Bare Form. This beautiful nude holographic shade made a great base for some vibrant contrasting dots using KBShimmer Lo and be Bold. I love how the vibrant cobalt blue dots just jump off the nude base. I think I may have a new "favorite" color combination in nude and cobalt. I really love how the colors seem to make each other pop.
And here is a quick, sunny, look at In Bare Form. This shade has a fantastic, two coat, formula. I love how creamy this shade is, yet it still remains very linear in the holo effect. A holo for the office? Don't mind if I do!
The KBShimmer Early Summer collection is available from kbshimmer.com right meow :D. As you may have guessed.. I shall be sharing my "Early Summer" looks over the coming days ;).
Who feels like a complete tool? I DO!!!!!!! Why you ask? Because I am just now getting around to posting this amazing collaboration between Dollish Polish and Jindie Nails. You may remember a few months back I shared some details about an ongoing monthly collaboration between Dollish and Jindie. They are releasing amazing duos every month inspired by famous couples through history. The duo I am sharing today is J.F.K and Ms. Monroe. This duo became available on May 16th, sadly it appears to be sold out on both the Dollish Polish Site and the Jindie Nails site. I'm guessing it might have been a feeding frenzy because these two babies are stunning, as usual :D.
You can go ahead and throw rocks at me for showing you these pretties now...
Both swatches are shown with a top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast for shine and smoothness.
Dollish Polish Ms. Monroe- Ms. Monroe is described by Dollish Polish as a cherry red jelly loaded with lots of holographic and metallic sparkle, plus some blue/purple iridescent small glitters and flakes. Ms. Monroe is opaque on its own in about 3 coats. This pretty is so juicy and sultry. The formula was surprisingly easy to work with and the glitter spread is perfect. I did use Three thin coats to achieve full opacity. This beauty could also be layered to create interesting textures and "crushed rubies" effect.
Jindie Nails J.F.K- J.F.K is described by Jindie Nails as a shimmery cobalt blue with blue/green shimmer flash, loaded with gold & silver flakies, red metallic glitter, classic and light gold metallic small hexes and dots, silver metallic smaller hex glitters and smaller dots, matte lagoon blue small and medium hex, opaque matte ocean blue medium hex. I love the shimmering blue base and the perfect blend of colors and textures suspended in the beautiful base color. I used Three thin coats for my swatch and had no issues whatsoever.
Once again Dollish Polish and Jindie Nails knocked it out of the park with this beautiful collaboration. I can't wait to see who they will choose as their next inspiration. I'm really not sure if they plan to bring any of these collab shades back, it really does not appear so :(. That said, stay tuned with these two brands because they are always putting out amazing new creations.
