"Truffin" Tuesday!! Barielle Green Apple and O.P.I My Paprika is Hotter than Yours!

Hello and happy Tuesday!

SO sorry this post is running late. I got distracted yesterday while working on my hair. I got into one of my cray cray funks and decided I wanted to re-do my hair colors. I've been taking Folic Acid supplements (per my doctor) and my hair, and nails have been growing SO fast!! But, anywho... My roots were KILLING me, so I got wrapped up in that project and completely forgot to post this awesome mani I did with Truffle's pick(s).
Muffin is still refusing to pick lol. She will just sit there looking pretty like "What, what do you want human?". This week though, Truffle decided to join in the fun and picked me some shades to play with.
I don't know what it is about this look but I LOVE how it turned out. The color combination is weird and yet it works so well. Truffle picked for me Barielle's Green Apple and O.P.I My Paprika is Hotter than Yours. These are both phenomenal, vibrant shades!! They both have amazing formulas, incredibly saturated and creamy! I used Two coats of each shade. For the triangle Purple accents I used Zoya Pinta. I finished the look off by adding some contrasting "glequins" and topping the whole look off with Twee & Honey's This is Matteness- matte top coat.

And here are the kitties doing their thing.

And because I loved these shades together before I even added accents. Here are my base colors. I am smitten with O.P.I MPIHTY!! That said, my camera was not a fan lol. It is an AMAZING Summer/ Spring shade and if you even remotely like Oranges, you will want this baby. Green Apple by Barielle is a really fun and unique shade and you can't beat that Barielle formula!
I'm loving all these fun and quirky shades for Spring and Summer. I think those are my favorite seasons for nail polish. I had so much fun working with these colors and I can see why Truffle has trouble deciding ;).

Time to go finish working on my hair!! I will have pics for you guys as soon as it is done ♥.

31 Day Challenge 2012! Day Twelve: Stripe Nails

Sorry I'm running late yet again!

These new med are really doing a number on me. To top it all off, my allergies are going off and my vision is taking a hit. NOT FUN!!!!! So, Sam and Rie already have their awesome striped looks up. Today's task is striped nails. I went for a witchy-sock inspired look since Halloween is right around the corner!
This look features a base of Cult Nails Deal with It(♥♥♥♥♥♥). For the stripes I used my Born Pretty Store striping tape, different patterns on each nail. The black is Cult Nails in Nevermore which is perfect for this technique since it is so opaque, and the formula so smooth. I topped the whole look off with some Seche Vite.

Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Striped looks for day Twelve!

LTHP is Back! Daddy Kool Records #MunnyShow 2012 Inspired Nails!

Hi guys!

I am back! Yes!! I wanna thank all of the AMAZING bloggers that stepped in for me for the past Two weeks. You ladies blew my mind in several different directions, and I know my readers were in amazing company. I'm just in awe of the talent in this community. Also, on that note... While I was gone LTHP reached 5,000 followers!! WOW! I need to plan something special to celebrate this milestone!
Today's manicure are the nails that I wore to this years Munny Show at Daddy Kool Records in Downtown St. Pete, Florida (post about this later on today!). My nails were inspired by the sticker that the Record shop, along with many other shops on the DT strip were displaying on their windows to promote the local "art show".
For this fun look I started with a base of Zoya Purity. For the striped nails I used my striping tape from Born Pretty Store and Milani Black Swift. On my middle finger I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM19 and Zoya Robyn. The splatter finger was done with JulieG Oh Em Gee, Zoya Robyn and Milani Black Swift. On my thumbs I did a drip effect using Black Swift and Oh Em Gee.

Here is a crappy thumb shot... Still getting a hang of the drip technique. I topped off all my nails in some Seche Vite, followed by INM Northern Lights TC then followed by one last coat of Cult Nails Wicked fast.

Here is a shot of the poster that inspired the nails and the nails :D. I am actually so happy with how these turned out. Even at the point when I had all my nails coated in a clean white canvas I really didn't know what I was going to do with each nail and it all just came together out of the Blue. The color palette is just right on for awesome nail art!
I missed you guys so much!!! I had a nice little break, recovering nicely (still working on that). I feel better every day and I am SO happy to be back!!

I hope you guys enjoyed this nail art!!! Who knows... I may just be back later with a Muffin Monday but I will def have a post up soon about the show!

Hi everyone!

I'm back for just a quick post to update you all on the happenings of the past week. The surgery went fine. They found some weirdness and addressed it. Not gonna get into details but basically I am still recovering. I still have a bunch more doctors appointments coming up this week and I still need tons of rest. This coming week, I've asked some of my personal favorite bloggers to guest post for me, and you guys are in for a real treat. I am so excited to share the awesome nail art these ladies have done for us!!

Today's post is a recap (I've beens haring these on my Instagram Account) of a project a few bloggers and I paired up with Milani on. It is the Fall Fashion Trends . They created Four different Pinterest Boards, one for each trend, where they share all of our nail art designs. The trends we were to be inspired by were Glamazon, Colorblock, Gilded Rebel and Haute Rod.

Zoya Week Kicks Off with Zoya Song Nautical Nail Art

Good morning and happy Zoya Week!

I was having issues on deciding which look I was going to kick this Zoya week off with so I held a little poll on Facebook to find out which look you guys wanted to see first. You guys voted for the Song look. I knew pretty much immediately that I wanted to do something nautical themed with this color so I put on my brave face and grabbed my striping tape and micro beads and gave it my best shot.
I started with my Two coats of Zoya Song. Once my base color was dry I carefully placed bits of striping tape from Born Pretty Store horizontally across the nail and painted over them with my White polish. For that step I used Zoya Purity which has amazing coverage.
On my ring finger I did a little anchor accent in Silver micro-beads carefully placed one by one. For this look I set my beads into a slow drying top coat. I'm so proud of myself for actually pulling this manicure off. I've seen so many beautiful nautical themed manis on Pinterest and from fellow bloggers and have always wanted to try one but never had the courage to do so until now. I was very happy with my results.
I am so excited for the looks to come for the rest of the week! I was really having so much fun with these colors and I can't wait to show you guys what I came up with!!

Stay tuned tomorrow for my next look in this installment!

Muffin Monday!! Sation Tardy Tart

Good evening!!

I'm late but I'm back baby!! The husband and I had a great and very chill vacation. We went to the beach and got our tan on, hung out with friends and totally re-did the polish room!! I'll have some pictures of what I did over vacation and a  little video tour of the new, and much improved, polish room soon.  I have a huge new desk now and room to make tutorials!! SO!!! That might actually be happening now :D!
Onto why you're probably here... Muffin is back!!! It has been a WHILE since I've done one of these. I feel kinda bad about that.... But she picked me an awesome color and powered by Bing Energy Drink, some shaky hands and some tunes by Sleigh Bells I managed to bust out a cute mani and try something totally new!
To see Muffin's pick in action just keep on reading!

31 Day Challenge! Day 11- Polka Dot Nails

Hi loves!!

Welcome to day 11 of the challenge. Today's task is such a fun one... Polka Dots!! I LOOVE Polka dots. Polka dots is another one of those techniques that are quick and easy but can give you such fun and cool results. I decided to take today's look in a festive direction :D. I'm not like huge on Halloween (I don't have kids and I'm not a big party person) but I really like how this mani turned out.
For this simple look I started with a base of Bettina Onix(Black) and Starfish(Orange). For my Ring anf Middle finger I used the smallest dotting tool I have from my Born Pretty Store set. For the dots on my Index and Pinkie finger I used an average sized dotting tool. For the dots of Starfish over Onix I went over the Orange dots twice to make sure that the color would really pop once I added a top coat. I really actually like this cute look. I'm all about the dotting lately! :D:D

Here is a picture of my base colors. They are both two coaters and they both dry fast and super shiny. Starfish is probably my favorite Orange in my collection. It's probably the brightest, happiest, truest Orange creme I have. Onix is a great Black creme. It applies super smooth and even.
Well this was fun!! I'm scared for tomorrow's challenge! Stripes.. Yikes.... Don't forget to check out Sam and Rie's blogs to see their Polka Dot nails!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Zoya Harley

Good afternoon my lovelies!!

Today I have a color that was long over due to have it's own post. Everyone that really reads my ramblings knows I have a long outstanding love affair with Grey nail polish and this beauty is one of my favorites.

I had to nubbinize :( I noticed a really bad crack on my ring nail and I'd rather cut them down than have a very painful break so... behold!!! My Nubbins!! yet again lol.
This simple design was done using Two coats of Zoya's Harley as my base. I then stamped over it using plate BM222 and Zoya's Kelly. I wanted to go for like a "carved stone" type of look. I then added a little rhinestone just for some bling. I love how this looks.

Zoya's Harley is the prettiest shade of light Silvery Grey and the shimmer in this is so interesting. I also like to think that there is a touch of Pink in this. I don't know what it is but there is something in this color that takes it out of that "corpsey Grey" territory. This color has a flawless Two coat formula. ♥!!!

Why I had not posted about Harley on her own, I could not tell you. This color is soo beautiful!!

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by!!

Pink Wednesday!! Cult Nails Devious Nature gets Captivated

Happy Pink Wednesday!!!

Today I have a mani that I was literally excited to work on. Sometimes ideas hit me like a ton of bricks and lately I felt like I needed that because I was feeling like I was stuck in some kind of rut. Pink Wednesdays always inspire me! Why? Because I love Pink!!! And today I have on two colors that I hope I never run out of....
SO! There is quite a bit going on here but I love this! I have on Devious Nature with accent nails in Captivated. Then I sponged the tips of my Devious Nature nails with Captivated and finished the whole thing off with some flower stamps from a fauxnad plate C02 and some Pink rhinestones.

Here is my base. I love everything about Devious Nature. I could not have a better formula, brush, pigmentation etc. This is easy, one of my top Pinks. And we all know about the epicness that is Captivated. Maria really outdid herself with these two babies, don't you think?
I hope ya'll like this as much as I do. These are definitely not for the shy of hand though :).

Happy hump day!

Essie Tart Deco + Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow

Hi loves!!

Today I have a super pretty combo. I know I just recently did a Peachy- Gold- Red mani but this one has a little something special going on... Deborah Lippmann's Boom Boom Pow. This had been a long time lemming of mine that I never thought would actually make it to my collection. I got these two pretties in my recent Apothica haul.
So for this I sponged Boom Boom Pow over Essie's Tart Deco. Then I stamped using this pretty flower design from Konad Plated M9 in Konad Red special polish. Just for fun after it was all said and done I decided it needed a rhinestone and that pulled the whole look together for me.
Now I know Boom Boom Pow is steep at $20 a pop but I have the kind people of Apothica to thank for a sponsorship that allowed me to get a lot of Essie pretties along with this Golden stunner. BBP is full of WIN. I love all the different sized glitters in it and I love the super micro fine glitter that floats in the clear base. I also love that it is a true, bright Gold. According to the Deborah Lippmann website there is 24k Gold powder in this. I assume they mean the micro fine particles that float in the clear base giving it a Golden- cloudy look. This is just amazing and I can't wait to layer it over everything.

Essie's Tart Deco is a beautiful bright Peachy creme. The formula for this was slightly annoying. It was just a tad streaky but not too terrible. For this I used Three coats of color.
And there you have one of my favorite manis to date! I am so in love with Boom Boom Pow and Tart Deco as well. Tart deco is Summer perfection and so flattering. I am so happy to finally have some Essie's I can get excited about in my collection. I could not be more pleased with Boom Boom Pow. I mean just look at it!! It's amazing.

China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out

Holos make me happy!

Today I have another beauty from my [swap] with Gilded Nails. This is a color I didn't know I wanted :). The second I saw it I was in love. This color is so pretty. It is a holo so by default it is amazing but it is also a pretty shade of Blue.
So Kaleidoscope Him Out is a pretty light Blue holo. As you can see it's not quite linear, not quite scattered, but somewhere in between. Indoors this color looks close to Milani's Cyberspace except the sparkle is much finer in KHO. The formula for this color is great. Very easy tow work with and only slightly sheer. For this mani I used Three coats. For this one adding a top coat doesn't change the holo effect. I'm interested in seeing this layered over darker Blues and Black. I bet it's even more beautiful. This is from CG's Let's do it in 3D collection.

O.P.I Pirates Week- Planks a Lot & Silver Shatter

Shiver me timbers?

I've had soo much fun working on these Pirates inspired manis. I hope you guys have enjoyed them as much as I did working on them.

For the final mani in the series I have Planks a Lot. This is the Purple in the collection and it is such a pretty one. This one is the least "murky" of the colors. It is still pretty muted and still has that same interesting quality the rest of the colors have. This also had a great formula and was opaque in two coats. For this design I had to really use my imagination because between the name and the color itself I had trouble tying it all into the Pirates theme. So use your imaginations here lol... You're a pirate and it's night... You're about to walk the plank (get it, get it? lol) you look down and all you see it dark sea waters... Inspired by the night sea I used O.P.I Funky Dunkey and Teas-y Does It for the sponging and Russian Navy for the stamping with BM plate 222. I would suggest clicking these for details.

And here it s under Silver Shatter. This turned out to be my second favorite Shatter combo.

I hope you lovelies enjoyed these Pirate Series designs. I had such a fun time working on these. I will have a recap of the whole collection later on with my final thoughts on the collection and with all the colors together.

Thank you for stopping by today <3

O.P.I Pirates Week- Steady as She Rose & Silver Shatter

Don't ask... I'm so excited for this movie to come out! It looks crazy good and of course I will be rocking one of my O.P.I shades when I go see it... Which one? I have yet to decide but the mani shall be awesome.

Today I am featuring Steady as She Rose. Uh-mazing!! This one is a soft dusty Greyed-out Lavender. I don't have to stress how much I love this color, right? The formula for this color is amazing. It just kinda melted on my nails and covered perfectly in two coats. This is my Second favorite from this collection, so far. I'm really not sure how my design comes into play with the Pirates theme but something about the color of the stamp and the little jewels remind me of a treasure chest, like little flower shaped doubloons :).

And here is Silver Shatter over Steady as She Rose. Again, another soft contrast but very beautiful. Pictured taken with Silver Shatter applied over a coat of Seche Vite to make sure the base was fully dry but no SV was used after the Silver Shatter was applied. The effect is easier to photograph this way. Plus I just freaking love the finish/effect SS adds when it dries.

Loving.. LOVING this color! These soft, yet gritty, tones really get me going and I love how they look on my vampire hands...Can you guess what's coming tomorrow? I bet you can!

Also, Muffin sends her love and will be back this Monday!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Mother's day with Essie Haute as Hello

Hello lovelies!!!!

Happy Mother's Day Sunday!! I've missed you all so much! I just got back from Ohio today and as soon as I unpacked and ate the First thing that came to mind was this cute little mani. This color was part of my swap with Carina.
Haute as Hello is an awesome Creamsicle Orange creme that borders on being neon. I'm so into Orange lately and this one is so... Yummy! Now, the formula was a slight pain in the behind because of that slight neon finish. It was bit streaky and draggy but for the most part it leveled out at Three patient coats. This was nothing Seche Vite could not handle ;). I really love the final look with the cute little flower stickers. It is not often I like using stickers but sometimes they just work. A very happy mother's day to all of the great Mommy's out there!!

I missed you guys soo much!!

Bettina Art Deco Yellow

It's a Yellow polish I can wear and love!!! I had soo much fun with this mani that I actually posted a little teaser on Facebook and Twitter (DO you follow me yet? Find me on the right hand side bar). So here we go with some fun pics of a fun mani! I love all these colors. They remind me of Puerto Rico!
Fun with Primary (and some secondary :) colors
It's officially Spring here at LTHP lol! Might as well be Summer with these nails! So Art Deco Yellow is the perfect primary Yellow creme. It's bright, it's creamy and most of all I can actually pull it off! Onto the formula... You're probably expecting to say that it was terrible and streaky and Blah Blah Blah.. WRONG! It's creamy, well pigmented and fairly smooth. I did need to use Three coats but they were an easy Three coats and it dried quickly. I love that this is a bright Yellow and that it does not look like I dipped my nails in Egg yolks hahaha! For the dots I used all Bettina colors and I cannot wait to wear them all because they are all creme and all excellent canvases for awesome nail art. For the dots I used dotting tools from Born Pretty Store. Art Deco Yellow was a gift from my lovely cousin :)! And this mani is so going under the Epic WIN tab for me!

I'm turning around on Yellow polish :)!
