31 Day Challenge! Day 8- Metallic Nails

Good Morning lovelies!!

Welcome to day Eight of the challenge. Today the list calls for Metallic nails. I didn't really have any direction in which to take this mani because the term "metallic" left me open for so many different options. In the end I went with one of my new Color Club Foiled colors and went with a Mermaid-y theme.
So for this look I started with Two coats of Color Club's Perfect Mol-Ten. I wanted to create a layered look with the stamping so using Bundle Monster plate BM209. First stamped with China Glaze Jolly Holly. Then, using the same stamp I went over Jolly Holly with Color Club Cold Metal. For my ring finger I did the same process with a stamp from the same plate. All topped off with a coat of SV.

I think it's an ok look. This actually looks a lot better in photos than it did IRL lol. In photos I really actually quite like this but in real life I couldn't even look at my nails hahaha! Now, Don't forget to check out Sam and Rie's blogs to see their Metallic nails!

I'm super excited for Rainbow nails tomorrow!!

Color Club Blue-Topia and Lumin-icecent

Happy Friday!!

Today I have some more Color Club awesomesauce. In yesterdays post I mentioned that I had a feeling the new Color Club Foiled Collection polishes would be outstanding for stamping. Well I just had to try it out and I could not be happier with how the stamping turned out.
So, these are the bomb for stamping!! As my base I started with Two coats of Blue- Topia and using Bundle Monster plate 205 I added a simple design using Lumin-icecent as my accent color. The clean up was a little hard because the micro shimmer in the foil finish wanted to get everywhere and you can kinda see some of the shimmer still stuck to my cuticles lol but other than that I highly reccomend the Color Club Foiled Collection for stamping.

Andd here is a swatch of Blue-topia. This one is an amazing Inky Blue jelly. The application on this color is excellent and this is easily one of my Fall 2011 favorites!
I can't wait to stamp some more with my new Foil babies!!

Thoughts? Requests?

Color Club Foiled Collection Swatches and Review

Hiiiiii!!

OMG OMG OMG I am so excited about today's post. I had been looking forward to this collection ever since I started seeing pics from Cosmo Prof. I had been dying for some good foils and Color Club has definitelly delivered with this stunning and edgy collection. Onto the awesomesauce?

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I have not loved a collection this much since Zoya's Intimate or O.P.I's Pirates of the Caribbean Collections. I'm just lalalaloving these!!
Hot Like Lava is HAWT like lava!! OMG Do I freaking love this stunner. It's a bright Magenta foil. So vibrant and so perfectly smooth. Very "in your face" and totally amazing!!

Perfectly Molten is the perfect Green foil. This is probably my very top pick from this whole collection. This one is a stunning shade of Jade Green foil. I can't wait to play around some more with this color.

Lumin-icecent. Epic light Blue foil. This one is very Silvery and robotic- like.

Cold Metal is an amazing True Blue foil. This one was the least Silvery of the tones and very vibrant and saturated.

Foil me Once. Ahhhhh!!! Soft Pink foil. EPIC!! Just EPIC. This is the one that I ended up wearing. I feel like a girly robot haha!

Antiquated is a soft Gold foil that is so wearable. Very bright and Champagne-y colored.

So let me tell you guys about how much I love this collection. I love it THIIIIIIIIIISSSS much lol! It is seriously amazing. I can't rave enough about the formula on every single color. They are all solid Two coaters, some can do with one if you have a really steady hand. The brush on Color Club polishes is so easy to work with and it fans out perfectly for my nails. I'm glad to have these because I don't have many foil- finish polishes and I really enjoy them when they are done the right way. Like these, basically a smooth metallic finish, no brushstrokes upon application. These are the perfect consistency and the perfect application. I'm in love! My top three have to be Hot Like Lava, Perfect Molten and Foil me Once. I cannot wait to stamp with these babies! This whole collection is an Epic WIN for me.

The Foiled Collection is available on www.transdesign.com

Which will you be jumping on?

Random Comparisons: Color Club vs. Zoya

Hi Loves!

This time around I just have some quick comparisons of some dupes I found between Color Club and Zoya.
The difference is barely there. Caitlin is a bit more dense and pigmented which makes the shade just a tad lighter that Shabby Drab. These are not exact dupes but they are close enough that if you have one you don't need the other.
Dead on dupes. The Zoya formula is slightly better.

And there you have it! Short and Sweet!

Color Club Back to Boho Collection Swatches: Part 2

Hi Loves!!!

Today I have the Second half of Color Clubs Back to Boho Collection. To see the first half just click [HERE]. This half has the more deep and shimmery colors in the collection.
Red-ical Gypsy. A sexy crimson Red jelly/ creme. I absolutely love this color. It's a great Fall Red. great two coat formula.

Boho Mojo. Light Silver frost. Do. not. like. I hope that polish companies arent trying to push frost on us again.
Vodoo you Do. Now this is more like it. This is quite the interesting color. It's somewhere between Gunmetal and Navy and then there is the lovely Silvery shimmer. Another Two coater.

Nouveau Vintage is the most amazing Brown shimmer and this is also the only true shimmer in the whole collection. It is made up of a Maroon base with Brown and Green micro glitter in it. This one is also a Two coater.

Blue- topia. Amazing, inky Navy Blue jelly. Simple and gorgeous. I think this may have killed my lemming for Nars Midnight Express. IDK how close they are but Color Club had me at Navy Jelly.

And finally we have Artsy Crafty. A hunter Green creme that is just beautiful. Two easy coats. I then layered Tattered in Gold and wore the combo for a few days.

I pretty much spilled my guts about how I feel about this collection in the first part post which I have linked above. But in a nutshell for those who don't feel like clicking.... I love the colors individually but as a collection they seem a bit random. The formula is great on all of these and I really love the Color Club brush as well. I wish there had been a a bit more glitter and flash since there have been so many creme based collections this fall but I do love cremes and people with smaller collections will find a lot of great core colors to have in this 12 color group.

Which are your faves?

Color Club Back to Boho Collection Swatches: Part 1

Hi loves!!!

For today I have the first Six colors from Color Clubs newest Fall collection, Back to Boho. I decided to split this into Two parts because my cuticles were begging me for a little break with all these 12 color collections lol. So, I decided to start with the more muted, neutral tones in the collection.
New Bohemian is the perfect Turquoise creme. This is bright and clean and just lovely. No, it is not a dupe of China Glaze's For Audrey. However, they could be cousins. The formula on this baby is pretty amazing and smooth but it does need Three coats for full opacity and even coverage. Strange color for Fall, but who cares?! I mean just look at this beauty.

Rad Nomad. This one is a pretty Dark Grey with hints of Purple. This and Zoya's Petra  could be dupes. I will be doing some comparisons soon. This one has a Two coat formula. Not terribly unique but still a nice color for Fall.

Nomadic in Nude. I started with this one because it was the "least exciting" but as it turned out I actually really like it on the nail. It could be a hard color to pull off for some skin tones but it is a really awesome shade of Putty nude. The formula on this one was slightly gluggy and needed Three coats.

Shabby Drab is a pretty light Grey with some Lavender tones in it. Again, another potential Zoya dupe. Think of Zoya's Caitlin and you have Shabby Drab. Great Two coat formula. I really liked this color when Zoya made it for Spring and I still love it now. Bummer that it is a dupe though.

Rebel Spirit is a deep Brown creme with some Reddish undertones. It's a very clean Brown when compared to the other Brown cremes coming out this season. I actually kind of like this shade and I don't really enjoy Brown as a color at all.

Earthy Angel *Swoon*. I really love this soft Peachy nude. As the name implies, it is a very Earthy and warm color. I absolutely love this. This color is probably one of my top picks out of the entire collection. The formula on this baby is great as well, two coats.

So from this first half I'm really loving New Bohemian, Nomadic in Nude and Earthy Angel. The funny part is that not one of those colors really screams Fall to me. I agree with a lot of what Scrangie has to say on this collection. I love the colors individually but not necessarily together as a collection. I will show you guys the whole thing together once I have swatched the remaining Six colors which will probably be later today. I will also then do a full recap on my thought on the pretties. Don't get me wrong I think it is an interesting collection, but slightly random. I do love that the colors they created are nice, clean and bright and they decided to stray away from the dirty and smokey trend going around for the season. It's a bit more "cheery" than other collections coming out.

Which ones are you liking?

Color Club Fractured Collection Swatches

Hi loves!!

Not too long ago I received Color Club's Fractured Collection. This group consists of crackle polishes in Six different shades. Now... the whole crackle thing is getting a little out of hand lol but there are some pretties in this group that I really LOVE!

First up is what turned out to be my favorite combo. This is Broken Tokens over China Glaze's Frostbite. Broken Tokens is a bright Silver foil shatter. Compared to O.P.I's Silver Shatter, this one is a much brighter, "cleaner" tone of Silver. The formula for this is easy to work with and it gives you some time to apply as it does not dry uber quick.

Tattered in Gold. This one is a Gold foil crackle. Here I have it layered over O.P.I's Manicurist of Seville. When compared to China Glazes Tarnished Gold Crackle, Tattered in Gold is much more dense and a lighter shade of Gold. The formula for this one is just like that of Broken Tokens.

Kiss and Break Up. This one is a pretty Red based Purple crackle. It has just the slightest hint of shimmer and crackles so nicely. The formula for this one is pretty sheer so when choosing a base color make sure it's not too busy or too dark. Thicker coats are best with this shade to really get a true Purple crackle. Here I have it layered over Finger Pains Aren't you Gladioulous?.

Here is Splitting Image. A pretty Blue crackle. This one also has the slightest hint of shimmer and also crackles very nicely but has the same sheerness issues as Kiss and Break Up. Here I have it layered over $O.P.I Havana Dreams. <333333 This combo as well.

Clean Break. A standard White crackle. This one has a good formula as well. This one is easy to work with and it also gives you time to apply before it begins to crackle. Here I have it layered over Barielle's Decadence.

And last but not least is Smash Hit. This one is your standard Black crackle. Another one with a great formula and crackles nicely as well. Here I have it layered over Orly's Green with Envy.
Overall, I really like these and the formulas are consistently good and easy to work with. I hope they are selling these as a set because if so they are a GREAT buy. They all crackle nicely and the metallic ones have great color payoff and they are bright and sparkly. I think my faves were Splitting Image and Kiss and Break Up, sheer formulas and all. Mostly because they are unique to my collection and I love that slight shimmer that they have and the fact that they crackle so well.

Now I only have one request of Color Club... More holos, pretty please? :)

Color Club Age of Aquarius

Let me throw some more BRIGHT nails your way...

Apparently I am in a bold mood lately. This one came from the Miami Beauty Show. It just so happened that the Two Color Clubs I picked up were neons, which is unsual because I don't normally gravitate to neons. Well I was really drawn to this amazing shade of Turquoise. My pictures are not very accurate for this one, I'm sorry.
Age of Aquarius is an amazing neon Turquoise creme. I cannot rave enough about the formulas on these Color Club polishes... Just amazing. This was soo buttery smooth and easy to work with. Because it is neon t dries to a satin finish so it does need a top coat to bring out the shine. This color is far Greener than my pictures show. However (making excuses for my camera lol) my camera just does not like neons, let alone a Turquoise one lol. You guys get the idea right? This is so beautiful and just fun. This was Three coats.

Do you have any neon Color Clubs? Which are your faves?
