Etsy Mania!! Naild'It Swatches and Comps

Hello and happy Friday!!

Today I have swatches of Four polishes from Etsy Shop Naild'It. I'm still on a pretty hardcore indie kick and these are so much fun and different from other polishes out there. The combinations of textures, colors and shapes are just so eye-catching. I've had these for a while and it took me a long time to get them up because I actually wanted to wear these and enjoy them for a few days :D.

Etsy Mania!! Couronne d'Or Vernis Swatches

Happy Friday!!!!

IDK but for some reason I am so ready for the weekend! For me, the first week back from vacation is just freaking hell. Getting back into the swings of things and such lol. I feel like I've been in slow motion all week long haha. But anywho, today I have swatches of an amazing indie line.
These are the Couronne d'Or Vernis glitter toppers by Aly of Aly Loves Lacquer. She is a French Major and created a line of beautiful chunky layering glitters inspired by the crown jewels. I love the inspiration behind these and Aly loved that my blog name was inspired by the famous Marie Antoinette quote "Let them eat cake". It was a match made in polish heaven!

QUICK NOTE: Aly has created a code for my readers to use on your Cd'OV order good for 15% off. The code is LTHP15.

Etsy Mania! Shimmer Swatches: Part One

Happy Tuesday!!

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I've been busy this weekend catching up with old friends and I have been totally distracted from blogging... Which is ok because I was needing a little break. So today I have part One of a Shimmer Swatch-a-thon I've been working on. Shimmer is an Etsy shop ran by a wonderful woman named Cindy. Some weeks ago she contacted me to see if I would feature her creations and I happily obliged. You guys should have seen this package!
So, since she sent me so many pretties I decided to split it into several posts to make it a little easier on me lol. To see swatches of Part One continue reading.

Sunday Spam! Indie Mania Edition

Been a while, no? Today I have some utterly random indie spam. I had these swatches sittin in a folder I thought had already been posted..... UMM NOOOO lol! So I figured since it had been a while since my last swatch spam post today was just as good a day as any to bust these out.

Hey it's Thursday!

Today I have some picks from Etsy Shop: Lush Lacquer. This shop is ran by a mom and daughter team and they have some beautiful and unique creations. They are really good at keeping up with their stock and they are constantly expanding their line. These are my Three picks!

Etsy Mania!! Rockstar Nails With Love

Happy Caturday!

Today I have a cute polish by indie brand: Rockstar Nails. Shop owner Erika contacted me some weeks ago about reviewing one of her petties. She chose to send With Love my way. I had been checking this polish out for some time so when she contacted me I jumped on it!
For this edgy look I started with Three coats of Sation Let's make Lemonade. I had every intention of just wearing my neon Yellow nails but when I saw the bottle of With Love it was begging to be paired with my bright neon base. With Love is a blend of Black Hexes, Red hearts and large White Hearts. This is not the easiest polish in the world to work with. For this I did apply it like one would normally apply any other polish and you can see I had some trouble with the pieces wanting to stay in place or  get on the brush in the first place.
The nice thing about this bottle is that it has a nice long brush and BIG neck opening that you can use to kind of "stir" the hearts around in the bottle. I think next time I play with this I will be picking out the bits with an orange stick and placing them. I was getting these little "ghost bits" of Black stuff(see ring finger), not sure what the deal is with those. They were coming from the clear base so I'm not sure if the Black hexes are shedding or something. Doing the "picking and placing" method with this polish would eliminate the Black bits which fixes that issue.
As much as it might sound like I dislike this, I actually really like it a lot. I'm not feeling those random Black bits that look like smudges but I love everything else about it. I seriously LOVE the huge White hearts. She also didn't skimp on the red hearts and Black hexes. Shaped glitters are just hard to get on the brush, period. I really can't wait to play with this some more. Heart glitters are just SO cute!

Indie Mania!! 365 Days of Color Swatches

 Hi loves!!

Today I have some swatches from the indie brand 365 Days of Color. Not long ago I had the opportunity to pick my Four favorites and these are the pretties I went with. Her creations are very cute and different. I love her use of shard glitters in her blends. I also noticed that she expanded her line to include scented cuticle balms which I am curious to try myself.

Etsy Mania!! The Hungry Asian Sneeze Breeze

Happy Mother's Day and happy Sunday!!

First off: Happy Mother's day to all of the wondeful ladies with babies out there! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Te quiero muchichichisiiisimo!! Saluuuud! Hahaha!

Today I have one of my first Etsy purchases! This pretty comes from Etsy Shop: The Hungry Asian. This awesome creation by Kae jumped out at me immediately. It's ridiculously eye- catching and has a really interesting finish/ effect. If you have not been to her shop you should seriously change that. She has beautiful creations and great swatches of her products.
So, Sneeze Breeze is an awesome mix of non- reflective Blue Glitter and Black Glitter in a clear base. This is a very dense mix. Even though it is worn with a base here this glitter could be easily opaque on its own in Three coats. My base color is KAYS Ecstatica (I will be having a KAYS swatch spam post soon.) I did Two coats of Sneeze Breeze over my base color. I could not stop staring at my nails. I did a really nice thick coat of Seche Vite to give the glitter that encapsulated look. I seriously love this polish!

My new favorite thing.. Macros of awesome polishes!!! My camera didn't know what to make of the bright neon Blue bits...
Have a wonderful day loves!

Sation and Windestine Summery Nail Art

Hi loves!

Today I have a mani that totally came out of nowhere. When I sat down to paint my nails last nite my intentions were just to do Two quick coats of Sation's Bump in Beige and be done for the night.. BUT theeen...
I started with a base of Two effortless coats of Sation's Bump in Beige, which is my perfect mannequin hands "crelly"(jelly-creme). Then I applied Two easy coats of One and only Orange by Sation. This is a NEON Tangerine Orange. I've been craving neons lately so this color could not have come in at a better time. My camera was all "DO NOT WANT!" lool I'm sure you guys get the picture. This is BRIGHT! On my ring finger nail I did a gradient using Sammy's tutorial using OAOO and Sation's Fan the Flames Fuchsia. Don't worry, I will have swatches of all these Sation colors soon. I topped my ring fingers off with a coat of INM Northern Lights. On the rest of my nails I did a topper of Windestine's Asbestos which is a White micro glitter in a clear base.
I love this look. These nails make me happy! Also, I am seriously loving the gradient technique! I've done sponged gradients before but not using this technique and I really like the look of this method. I need to practice it but overall I am happy.

Thanks for stopping by!

Etsy Mania!! Pretty & Polished Swatches

Hi and freaking Monday.....

But at least I have some more pretty indies to show you... I am in a particularly shit mood today... I know normally this is a happy place and all that jazz but my "real life" is getting to be quite annoying... I just wanna live in my blog. Is that too much to ask? I just wanna be surrounded by color and great people all day long and talk about art, nails and trends and write and take pictures.. That is all I want out of life... But f*ck*n life has other plans for me it seems....

Enough depressing shit... Onto some AWESOME polishes by one of my favorite Etsy shops: Pretty and Polished. I own SO many of Chels' pretties and I am always excited when I see that she has come up with new colors.
Sorry for these crappy collages.... I shall never get over the tragedy that is Picnik's closing... Tried PicMonkey and it's great and all but the whole-  Upload, edit, download, upload, edit, download.... Yeah... Just not working for me.... Too time consuming :( Anywho... Keep on reading to see some pretty swatches.

Etsy Mania!! All That Glitters Spottie Dottie Light and Dark

Happy Sunday lovely readers!

Are ya'll sick of my Etsy posts yet? I sure as shiz hope not because I have so much indie coming your way still loool! What can I say? I went on a huge Etsy binge a couple of weeks back and I am still working through all the stuff I purchased. On top of that I also have the never- ending stream of samples that I have to swatch and such.
So basically, over the past few weeks I've had a huge surge of indies come in from my purchases that I am STILL trying to get to because I can't bring myself to "just swatch" my indies. I actually want to wear them and enjoy them. So.. enough ranting now.... Onto the shop of the day: All that Glitters. This girl is talented and I mean TALENTED! I own Four of her creations and I love them all to BITS! If you have not been to her shop you should seriously head on over and take a peek!

All that Glitter Spottie Dottie- Dark
Black.Glitter! Spottie Dottie Dark is pretty self explanatory. It is different sized Black hexes and bars suspended in a clear base. The Spottie Dottie series are not SUPER packed with glitter so you do have to do a little bit of fishing and careful application to get a cool effect. This does not bother me one bit because it gives the polish versatility. For this look I layered Spottie Dottie Dark over Color Club Daisy Does It.

All that Glitters Spottie Dottie- Light
Spottie Dottie Light is the same concept as SD Dark except with White glitters. My version of this polish is a little special due to those awesome big Square glitters. In its regular form SD Light is the same as SD Dark, different sized Hexes and bars. Shop owner Kirsten had actually made an announcement about how this batch would be a little different because her supplier had sent her Large White Squares instead of Hexes and I got a little excited at the prospect of having a "special" Square-y Dottie Light hahahaha! Here it is layered over Color Club Wing Fling.
How cute are these polishes? I also love that I can layer over each other to make up my own mix of Black and White glitter. Head on over to All that Glitters on Etsy to see more of K's goodies!

Happy Sunday!

Etsy Mania!! Wonder Beauty Products Hippie Fest

Happy Friday!!

Today I have, you guessed it.. MOAR Etsy polish!!! The shop today: Wonder Beauty Products. Something seemed unique about this shop and her creations and this particular mica- flake creation really caught my eye. And yes.... They come in a little jar!
So Hippie Fest is a mix of irregular shaped flakes in Blue, Green and Purple suspended in a micro Green glitter base. For this look I layered Hippie Fest over Butter London Primrose Hill Picnick. I really like this polish and the whimsical effect it creates. And to clarify the polish already comes blended in the jar. It is polish.. In a jar!

So when I saw that it was actually a jar of polish I was all....
But it became apparent VERY quick that this is quite the genius idea for polishes like this one as it made it so easy to pick out the shardy bits. She sends you your jar of color, a little mixing stick and a bottle of clear that comes with a brush that you dip into your jar. This particular polish does settle out and requires a good mixing before using.
Thoughts on Hippie Fest? Thoughts on jarred polish?

Etsy Mania!! Lac Attack Jewel of the Nile

Good afternoon and happy hump day!

Today I have another of my Etsy buys. The shop being featured today is Lac Attack. When I saw this awesome polish I just knew I had to have it. This pretty also killed my lemming for I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous Pinkerbell. I don't know how close they really are but looking at swatches, they are pretty similar. I so cannot get over these matte glitter blends. I just love how they look!
No, this is not a dupe or even close to Floam. Now that- that is out of the way :D... Jewel of the Nile is a lovely mix of Blue and Green matte glitters with larger "see through" Pink bits thrown in for contrast. How adorable is this polish?! For this manicure I layered Two coats of JOTN over a franken that was sent to me by the lovely Nicole from Polish for Thought. She sent me Four of her creations and left the task of naming them up to me. I named this pretty pink Princess Bubblegum (Any Adventure Time Fans in the house?) I will be featuring her pretties soon! So I seriously love this combo and I even made a ring out of it :D!
I seriously love the little Pink bits in this. They look like they are floating on my nails. Here is a pretty macro :D!
The cuteness... I haz it! Thanks for stopping by loves!

Etsy Mania!! Candeo Colors Orchid and Dolce

Good morning lovelies and happy Tuesday!

Today I have.. You guessed it! MORE Etsy finds! The shop in the spotlight today is Candeo Colors. I stumbled upon these Two pretties by, what I assume to be, nothing more that pure luck. I had never heard of this shop but these were the last Two colors she had available that day and I NEEDED them. Candeo Colors has very fast made a name for themselves and they sell out within minutes of opening shop. These are not easy to come by as it seems to be the case with a lot of these Etsy frankeners. But with beauties like these... Why would they not sell out within seconds?

Candeo Colors Orchid over Zoya Reagan
Orchid is a beautiful deep Purple-y/Magenta shimmery base packed full of Large Holo-y Hexes and smaller copper hexes in the shimmery base. This color could be opaque on its own but I layered it to give it a little extra depth and to make my bottle last as long as possible. I'm in awe of the combination of glitter colors and sizes. This polish is nothing but pure glittery awesomeness and sophistication.

Candeo Colors Dolce over Milani U Pinky Swear
Oh Dolce.... This is just yummy... I cannot think of a better word to describe this. It is a soft milky Pink base packed full of all different sized glitters in White, Pink and Violet. There are also some Half Moon glitters that I had no luck picking up but they are there. Once again, I layered my Dolce to make sure I don't run out any time soon. I love the look of this creamy glitter. The name is perfection.
I can't wait for mainstream companies to start watching these girls more closely. I don't want dupes.... But where is THIS kind of creativity in our mainstream brands? Lesbi-honest... We all love these Etsy frankens, and their creators are seriously talented ladies, but the low supply to the very high demand is just not working out. Also, the whole "stalking" bullshit is getting old. I feel like we are all giving ourselves heart attacks over snatching up even just one bottle. I cannot be mad at these ladies because we all know they work their fingers to the bone but I can still hate the fact that it's like the biggest C*CK tease ever! "Hey look at these amazing polishes I can make...-.... Oh.. But you can't buy any...."

Etsy Mania!! Nail- Venturous Humble Bee

Happy It's Monday!!

But despite the fact that it is the most dreaded day ever and there is a blatant lack of Muffin on the blog today I do have an awesome polish to show yoy guys. I scored this baby during Amy's first Etsy run. My heart was pounding so hard I was winded by the time I clicked "Submit Order". Thank goodness it lives up to my hype!
I've seen Humble Bee worn on it's own so I think it can reach opacity. However, after what I went through to get this, I want to make it last as long as possible so I layered it for this manicure. A decision I do not regret because I freaking LOVE how awesome this looks. My base color is O.P.I My Boyfriend Scales Walls. A very, very light clean and crisp White- Grey. Humble Bee is a mis of awesome neon bright Yellow matte glitters and Black glitter with some larger Black bits thrown in for texture. AMAZING! That.IS.All. I cannot get enough of these matte glitter blends. The "texture" and effect they create is just too cool!

Here is a neat-o macro shot!
So.... How freaking cool is this?!!!!!

Etsy Mania! Sweet Fairy Boutique Sea Nymph and Black Ice

Happy Friday!!

Today I have some more indie finds from Etsy.... Someone needs to keep a spray bottle near so they can spray me with it when I start looking at polish on Etsy. Just when you think you've seen everything.. Some crazy new combination of glitters and textures pop up that just blow my mind.Today I'm featuring some polishes by Sweet Fairy Boutique. Right now she does not have polishes listed but she has a shop full of cute little things!
Sweet Fairy Boutique Sea Nymph over Zoya Meg
Blinding green glitter packed so dense that it practically covers in one coat? YES please! I did not hesitate for one minute on clicking add to cart on this Green and Teal beauty. The Teal Hexes in Sea Nymph have a holographic shift. In the pics I have it layered over Zoya Meg. Meg is a perfect match on the shade of Green. This polish is so seriously sparkly that it is practically blinding. My camera could not handle it in the Sun haha!

Sweet Fairy Boutique Black Ice over Zoya Shelby
LOVVEEEEEE! So I have a huge thing for shredded glitters that are not a pain to apply. This adds such cool texture. There is something very mod and retro about this mani. Adding a coat of this would spice up any mani. Oh ANDDDDD the bits actually lie flat!
Just keep adding to the list ladies... Etsy Mania is here to stay!

Etsy Mania!! BeadsInk Nail Polish Jewelry

Hi loves and happy Sunday!!

Today I have a little quickie review of a lovely Etsy shop that focuses on nail polish jewelry. This shop is ran by the lovely Stephanie P. and it is called BeadsInk. Stephanie contacted me a few weeks ago to see if  I would feature some of her pieces here at LTHP. The issue I ran into with her shop: Wanting everything I saw lol. I finally settled on Two necklaces and Stephanie included the sweetest surprise ever, a ring I was not expecting and it totally warmed my heart.

Remeber the Floam ring and Random Dancing pendant I featured not long ago? They were made by Steph at BeadsInk. The Floam ring was a surprise from Stephanie. She knew I had been hunting down the nail polish, Floam, and she so awesomely made me a ring out of it!

Etsy Mania!! Nail-Venturous Floam!!!!!

That's right!!!

Freanking Floam man! Further proof that I have the best readers ever... I had posted a status update on Facebook that promptly resulted in a swap with a reader who was willing to part with her Floam. Clearly I jumped at the chance to get my hands on this, most elusive, of polishes. So, if you were a kid in the 90's (or had kids in the 90's), you probably grew up watching the awesomenes that was Nickelodeon (in the 90's, not now lol). The second I saw this nail polish on Chalkboard Nails I didn't even have to read what the polish was called to scream out Floam when I saw the pics. I knew I had to have the polish... Getting my hands on it would be nothing short of a saga....
For these pics I layered Floam over Zoya Wednesday. Floam is a very dense mix on neon Yellow and Blue matte glitter in a clear base. This polish could be worn on its own very easily in Three thin-ish coats. I decided to layer so I would not have to use as much of Floam. This polish is not easy to come by. You practically have to stalk Amy's Etsy Shop or They sell out within minutes of posting. This dries a little bumpy but some Seche will fix that right up!
I seriously love this to bits and the memories it brings back of my awesome 90's Nick days.
