Cool Toned Dots with NYC City Samba Shades

(**Press Samples**)
When in doubt... Or just plain lazy.. DOTS!!!! This simple mani brought to you by shades from the New York Color City Samba Collection ;D.
I started with bases of NYC Ocean Blue and Palm Tree. Both of these shades have a great formula. They both felt a bit crelly to me, which I loved. I used Two coats of both colors. For my dots I used NYC Amazon Green. This shade is an odd and dated mint FROST.. A Mint frost... Anyways.. I decided to "make it work" by using it to create little pearly dots over my vibrant base colors. I think this is the only way I could ever enjoy such an odd color.
As for my base colors Ocean Blue and Palm Tree... They are actually quite wonderful! The formulas are really easy to work with, and I had no issues with staining. I finished off my nails with a top coat of Seche Vite.

I am so ready for the weekend :D. Also, don't forget that I am taking requests for tutorials! So, don't be afraid to throw suggestions out there!! Happy Weekend!

O.P.I The Amazing Spiderman Collection Swatches

Happy Caturday!!!

Today I have swatches of O.P.I's The Amazing Spiderman Collection. This collection is an interesting mix of colors and finishes. I'm not feeling super chatty today so I'll get straight to the swatches :D.

O.P.I Just Spotted the Lizzard
Just Spotted the Lizzard is an Olive Green metallic with a slight Blue duchrome. We all know what this looks like so I won't bother to point it out... I actually do not own anything to compare this to, so it is unique in my collection. This color has a nice formula and seems to do best in Three thin coats. It is interesting, but I still don't know how I feel about it honestly. I wish that duochrome you see in the bottle really translated to the nail. Apply carefully to avoid brushstrokes.

O.P.I Shatter the Scales over Just Spotted the Lizard
Shatter the Scales is a deep Forest Green shimmery shatter. Am I over shatter? Yes, BUT.... This one is pretty bad ass. Putting this Shatter the Scales over Just Spotted the Lizard was what made me really appreciate Just Spotted the Lizard a little more. This shatter is very easy to work with and as you can see it shatters really nicely.
To see the rest of the collection just continue reading :D.

Some Barielle Swatches

HI loves!!

Sorry for the late post. Today I have swatches of Two Barielle shades I just received recently. Now, these pics were taken with my old cam and capturing Falling Star was actually quite difficult so I will be re doing that swatch soon. I'm kinda bummed... See when I requested these I did not look up swatches. I didn't because I knew I'd love Falling Star and Blackened Bleu as for the Third color I requested.. Well... You'll see....
Barielle Falling Star
This is a really popular and well known shade so I won't go into huge detail. But basically this pretty is a creamy denim Blue base with a sprinkling of Copper glitter. I absolutely love the contrast of the colors and the unique look it creates. Falling Star has a great Two coat formula.

And now for "the bummer"...
Barielle Snap Dragon
This color taught me a valuable lesson.... Look for swatches next time!!!! While I love the shade of Green I am so not thrilled at the fact that it is a frosty finish... Just not cute at all. It is dated and it reminds of of colors that you might see grannies wear... Two streaky coats.
And there you have it. Falling Star is awesome and Snap Dragon not so much... Haha!

Thanks for stopping by!

31 Day Challenge! Day 15- Delicate Print Nails

Hi Guys!!!

Ugh... Monday.... That could explain why I just wasn't feeling this challenge task at all... Shall we get on with it?
I wanted to play with bold and delicate.. Well, that, and Phoebe stained the crap out of my nails so I had to go for a very pigmented and full coverage color that wouldn't need more than Two coats because I was finding my patience running thin with this particular task. "Delicate Nails" are just not my thing. For this look I started with Two coats of SpaRitual Running with Wolves and using Bundle Monster plate BM201 and Zoya's Austine I stamped this swirly and pretty design on. All topped off with a coat of SV.

And there you have it! It's a Monday and I am just not feeling it today.... lol... Hopefully Sam and Rie are having a better Monday than me :)... Don't forget to check out Sam and Rie's blogs to see their Delicate nails!

Ok, see you guys maybe later... but definitely tomorrow (which I am also dreading!!)

Zoya Mirrors Collection Recap

Happy Friday!

Today I have a full recap of Zoya's Mirrors Collection. This is the "flashy" half of their Fall line up. To see swatches of the Smoke Collection just click [HERE]. This half basically "Mirrors" (get it, get it? ah.... I kill myself... :-\ ) the Smoke Collection with a slightly different, more "lively" version of the cremes. Shall we get started?
Marina. This beauty is a dusty denim Blue shimmer with a bit of frost. Thankfully the formula is magnificent and there is no brushstrokes when on the nail so the finish is very smooth and beautiful.

Tao. There is not a whole lot going on with this color. It is a light Grey with that same bit of frost as Marina and Nimue and I think I see just a hint of Green in Tao. I'm not too in love with this one because the frost effect is just a bit too strong.

Nimue. Now this is more like it. Ive shown this beauty recently. Purple metallic/ frost. Actually very pretty. One of my favorites from this collection.

Yara. This color is stunning! It is an Olive Green creme base with irregular shaped Golden glassfleck shimmers that have a slight shift to Green. If you love Greens, and even if you don't.. You will more than likely fall head over heels for Yara.

Neeka. Another stunner. This is basically Yara's Purple toned sister. They both have that same Golden/ Green irregular glassfleck throughout.

Jem. This pretty is the odd one out. This one is a lovely Burgundy/ Plummy shimmer that is so beyond flattering.

I think Zoya has more than redeemed themselves in my eyes for their little Summertime Collection dupe faux pas. These colors are so unique and just beautiful. I love that Zoya is one of the few companies doing some shimmers and glitters for Fall. Seems like a lot of collections coming out are only basic cremes. Every single color in this collection has an amazing Zoya formula. They are all opaque in two coats. Again I really love how cohesive this collection is. I mean both the Smoke and Mirrors collections compliment each other so well. I say job well done to Zoya for creating lovely "grown up" colors for Fall with a twist.

Which are your top picks? Mine are Yara, Neeka and Nimue.

Wet 'n' Wild Wild Shine Swatches

Hello lovelies,

Do you all like swatch posts as much as I do? Here is some Wet 'n' Wild swatches for you!

This is the lovely Bijou Blue. This is awesome! It is a Cerulean shimmer that is soo pretty! The formula for this one is a little runny but nothing too problematic. For this mani I used two coats of color. Yesterday I showed you this under Broken Hearted.

This is the awesomely bright and creamy Blazed. I really like this one. It's slightly jelly like in texture and the color resembles that of a Radioactive Creamsicle. It's not quite Orange or Pink. The shine on this one is awesome and so is the formula. This is Three coats.

This is Lavender Pearlescent. The name is very accurate. The base is a Rosey color but it has a Lavender frost throughout. I found the formula for this one slightly problematic as it was a bit sheer and veeery runny. As you can see I had a few mishaps even before I managed to take pics :(. I won't judge this shade yet. I will try this again soon because it has potential.

Here is the very bright Dreamy Poppy. This is your basic bright hot Barbie Pink creme. The formula is great on this one. A two coater.

This is Wild Card, which I was not very excited about.. until I got it on.. This is a lovely soft Purple shimmer which is practically angelic. For this I needed Three coats. The formula is great and dries quickly.

I love Wet 'n' Wild polishes so much. They are inexpensive but have a great color range and great formulas. It's not how much you pay for the polish but how you wear it, just like clothes ;-)!

Thanks for stopping by :)

China Glaze Avalanche

GAAAAG......

I don't even know what to say... Here is another FAIL!
I LOOOVED this in the bottle. I was expecting shimmery Slate goodness... I got streaky awfulness! There is no making this polish look good. I'm always really patient and careful with my application and there was no making this wreck look good.... It makes me sad because the shade itself is so cool :( I desperately wanted to love this. The formula on Avalanche is slightly runny but well pigmented... AND a hot streaky mess! Sad day for me. Ugh.... Two fails this close to each other... Well I think this will be great for stamping, we shall see...

Here is to a prettier tomorrow!!
