#NailArtSociety Habit Denim Blues Kit

(**Press Sample**)
Happy Humpday!!!

Today's post features the Nail Art Society kit for April (I believe). This adorable set was all about the color DENIM haha. The featured brand is a new one to me, Habit. The blurb on the Habit site states: "Habit gives you the gorgeous nail color you crave AND strengthens your nails, all without the harmful chemicals found in other nail polish brands. Habit naturally strengthens nails with Myrrh extract. Myrrh reinforces nails to give them more flexibility without the brittleness you get from chemical nail hardeners. Myrrh is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Habit is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor, and is made without animal testing. Habit is packaged as sustainably as possible. We are the only nail polish brand made with a bamboo overcap. It adds to the beauty of our nail polish and means that we use less plastic. Habit is packaged in FSC Certified paperboard produced through sustainable forestry."

The Habit shade I got with my kit is the beautiful Belle Epoque. This is a creamy shade of clean Periwinkle Blue. The formula was absolute perfection. I was actually surprised at how opaque, but fluid this color was. I used Two easy coats to achieve a perfect, glassy smooth look.
This kit also comes with cute silver and gold water decals in cute zipper designs. Even though the packaging on the zippers calls them stickers, they are certainly NOT stickers, but water decals. I like that they are decals because with water decals you get a much cleaner, cooler effect that with stickers. I love how the zippers look so perfectly vibrant against the light blue base.
I finished off my look by accenting with some light yellow gems placed randomly on my nails. I sealed the whole look off with a generous coat of Seche Vite. I managed to wear this look for about Four days, when time came to remove, they were still holding strong and looked fairly flawless.

Have you guys heard/ tried Habit nail color? I really love the packaging!

Cult Nails Party Time French Tip Nail Art Look

(**Press Sample**)
Hello and happy Friday!

Today's look is something I've never done for the blog before.. A (somewhat) traditional French tip mani. I've done many a funky Frenches, but never one with my natural nail color showing through. I'm not sure what came over me, but I just had to do a French tip mani with Party Time by Cult Nails.

Over my naked nails I did a base coat and then a coat of INM Northern Lights for the pretty sparkles. I didn't have to wait long to work on my French tips since my "base" was actually just a base coat and top coat. To get nice crisp French tips I used hole reinforcers. Like the kind I use for my half-moon manis, just placed at the tip of the nail to achieve a French tip.
The Blue shade I used is Cult Nails Party Time. This color is a beautiful, lively shade of Cerulean creme. Party Time can and will stain if not worn without proper base coat. I could care less though, it is just such an amazing color, with an impressive formula.
To add some super girly accents to my classic tips I added some cute little bow stamps from Pueen plate Pueen12, and Konad White special polish. I finished it all off by adding a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on top and setting small light Blue stones into the centers of my bows.

Not even gonna lie.. I LOVE THIS!!!!! I also cannot believe it took me 3+ years of blogging to do a (fairly) classic French tip mani. I can definitely say this will not be my last French look.

Happy weekend my loves!

31 Day Challenge 2012! Day 21: Inspired by a Color

Yay for this week being almost over!!

Today Rie, Sam and I are taking on day 21 of the 31 Day Challenge. The prompt for today is to be "inspired by a color". Last year I found myself having quite the dilemma over trying to figure out what to do for this challenge. The task to be inspired by a color leaves me open to do, pretty much, anything I want right?
I kept it simple by doing a cute gem design. My base color is Chick Nail Polish in Hipster Chick(full review soon). The color is so cute, fun and "Spring-y" that I just had to go for a flowery gems look. I started with Three thin coats of Hipster Chick and topped it off with some Seche Vite followed by Cult Nails Wicked fast to add the gems. I got my gems from a local shop but they can be found on eBay as well as several other e-tailers. I really like how playful and cute this look turned out. Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Color-inspired looks for day 21!

Zoya Week! Wednesday Two-Fer with Daul and FeiFei

Happy Humpday!

Zoya week carries on with Two looks today! I'm keeping it very short and sweet today as I do not feel very well. I spend the day in the hospital yesterday and today I'm going through the aftermath. Which, in a sense, is just as bad if not worse than the time spent in the hospital. But! I did manage to do these pretty gem looks with FeiFei and Daul.

Happy "Indie-pendence" Day!! Patriotic Mani Spam

Happy Fourth oh July!!!

To all my American lovelies anyway :D! I actually ended up doing a few different Patriotic themed manis for this holiday. That usually never happens! It only seemed fitting that I celebrate independence day in some awesome indie polishes right?! Today I will be featuring some beauties by Couronne d'Or Vernis as well as Vivid Lacquer. I must say I am completely blown away by these Two ladies creations and will have separate posts on their beauties later on but some of the pretties they sent my way inspired some awesome July 4th manis.
To see these manis just continue reading :D!!
