Nicole by O.P.I Nude & Neon Stamped Gradient (+ Video Tutorial)

(**Press Samples**)
A while back Nicole by O.P.I shared this awesome gradient that went from nude to neon. This girl right here fell in love with the look pretty hard and decided I need to try the combination for myself :D. The contrasting geometric stamp was an impulse add. I had been wanting to play with this Red Angel plate. The design is really interesting and eye-catching. Tutorial after the jump .

Cool Toned Dots with NYC City Samba Shades

(**Press Samples**)
When in doubt... Or just plain lazy.. DOTS!!!! This simple mani brought to you by shades from the New York Color City Samba Collection ;D.
I started with bases of NYC Ocean Blue and Palm Tree. Both of these shades have a great formula. They both felt a bit crelly to me, which I loved. I used Two coats of both colors. For my dots I used NYC Amazon Green. This shade is an odd and dated mint FROST.. A Mint frost... Anyways.. I decided to "make it work" by using it to create little pearly dots over my vibrant base colors. I think this is the only way I could ever enjoy such an odd color.
As for my base colors Ocean Blue and Palm Tree... They are actually quite wonderful! The formulas are really easy to work with, and I had no issues with staining. I finished off my nails with a top coat of Seche Vite.

I am so ready for the weekend :D. Also, don't forget that I am taking requests for tutorials! So, don't be afraid to throw suggestions out there!! Happy Weekend!

Fun with Pretty & Polished Summer Fun Collection

(**Press Samples**)
It is Monday...

... and the only thing that could make that fact a bit more bearable is these amazing Summer polishes from Pretty & Polished.  Today I want to share a look and some swatches I did (with and of) the Summer Fun collection. This release consists of Six new Summer holo beauties.

For the vertical gradient I was inspired by Marta of Chit Chat Nails and her textured rainbow look. I really loved her color choices and placement. For my version of Marta's look I decided to go all holo with Three of the shades from the Summer Fun collection. On my index nail I did Three thin coats of Pretty & Polished Firefly. This shade is an unbelievable, neon lime holographic. If glow sticks could also glow holo, they would look like Firefly. On my pinkie and thumbnails I wore P&P Living in Flip Flops. This shade is a wonderful grapey- purple holo. I used Three thin coats of this shade as well.
On my gradient nails I started with a coat of O.P.I's Put a Coat on (white base) and top coated it to create a glassy smooth white base. On my middle gradient nail I used P&P Firefly and P&P Lakefront. For my ring nail gradient I used P&P Lakefront and P&P Living in Flip Flops. Lakefront, btw, is the most beautiful shade of deep teal holographic.
These pretties were soooo amazing to work with. And, as you can see, they make for beautiful gradients!! I topped my nails off with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top. Side note: I absolutely adore how my ring nail looks like the most kick ass duochrome there ever was :D.

Pretty & Polished Poolside- This refreshing beauty is a classic sky blue linear holo. I used three thin coats for my swatch.

Pretty & Polished Summer Love- This pretty is a beautiful shade of light red linear holographic. It is possible my eyes are playing tricks on me, but I could have sworn I also saw a bit of a pink shimmer hidden in this shade. I love that it is a softer shade of red. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.

Pretty & Polished Sandy Shores- LONG LIVE NUDE HOLOS!!!!!!! This outstanding beauty is a creamy shade of sandy beige with a delicate linear holo shimmer. The holo in this shade is subtle and beautiful. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.

All of these shades have amazing formulas. With holo polishes I always feel like a good formula cannot be stressed enough. I really adore the range of perfect Summery colors Chels did for this release. The Summer Fun collection is available now from the Pretty & Polished online shop and retails for $9.00/color.

I would have to say my faves are definitely Firefly, Lakefront, Sandy Shores and Living in Flip Flops. But honestly, they are all wonderful and each one put a smile on my face. Which ones are you loving most?

Thanks for coming by today loves!!

Hey Girl... Nice Melons!

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Humpday!

I'm pretty sure that as a beauty blogger in South East Florida... that it is a requirement for me to rock some watermelon nail art at some point in my life. I mean, IDK... melons, Florida heat... they just seem to go hand in hand. So, I did just that this past weekend. Some of the shades from Zoya's Tickled and Bubbly collections were the perfect choices for my fruity nails.
I started with a base of Zoya's Tilda. She is a bright, grass green creme. I wanted to add some pops of sparkle to my melons so I layered a two thin coats of Zoya Stassi over my middle and pinkie nails. To create the melons I basically just did some ruffians over all my nails, except my pinkie. I used Zoya Wendy for the coral-y parts of the melons. Wendy is a perfectly opaque shade of pink- leaning coral.
To add some sparkle to some of my melons I layered a coat of Zoya Harper over the pink portions on my ring and thumb nails. For the "seeds" I just used a plain black creme and a small dotting tool. I cleaned up the seams of my melons with a green Stripe Rite glitter. To finish everything off I used a coat of Seche Vite followed by a light coat of INM Northern Lights.

Here are Zoya Tilda and Stassi over Tilda. I really love how the shades of the Bubbly collection look layered over the shades from the tickled collection. Putting the sparkling, jelly based, shades over an opaque color really seems to bring out all the tones in the sparkly shades. I feel like on their own they all lean a bit too gold. They are all beautiful regardless though.

And now I must go shop for some watermelon because I really want some :). I'm thinking I also want to try my hand at more fruit themed nails. What should I do next? I think pineapples...

Thanks for stopping by!!

CrowsToes 9 Realms Collection Swatches

(**Press Samples**)
Hi and happy Monday!!

I am SOO sorry I am late with these swatches :(:(. If you have been stalking the polish interwebs you may have noticed a lot of buzz over the newest collection from CrowsToes, The 9 Realms. This collection is my introduction to this brand, and I am entirely just blown away. There are 12 new shades in this collection. Each shade is unique and so very inspired.
The theme of this collection is inspired by the Nine realms in Norse mythology. Score yet another point for this fantastic collection :D.

You seriously want to see these pretties up close so keep on reading ♥.

Zoya Awaken and Monet Swatches

(**Press Sample**)
Hey guys!

So, I figured... since I have the Zoya Tickled and Bubbly Summer collections in hand.... that maybe, just maybe... Now is a good time to post my Awaken & Monet Spring collection swatches. Can you say "slacker"?

 photo 20140429-192244_zps7d2021e1.jpg

Zoya Dot- Dot is a classic ballerina pink creme-jelly. Even though it is really sqishy in finish, the formula was fairly opaque and easy to work with. I used Three thin coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN9309_zps9e82f749.jpg

Zoya Cole- Cole is my favorite shade in this entire collection. She is a beautiful shade of perfect peachy creme-jelly. The formula on this color is amazing as well. I used Two thin and easy coats to for my swatch. Shades like this can be so universally flattering. I love how tan they make me look.
 photo DSCN9376_zps4d676644.jpg

Zoya Rebel- Rebel is a soft sky blue with a subtle micro shimmer running through it. The shimmer gives a really pretty silvery/ golden, almost duochrome, effect. The formula on this color seems a bit sheer at first but is perfect in Two coats.
 photo DSCN9471_zps2d755da5.jpg

Zoya Dillon- Dillon is the seafoam sister of Rebel. The shimmer in Dillon appears more Silvery than Golden. I used Two thin coats.
 photo DSCN9502_zpsc61ed4c5.jpg

Zoya Hudson- Husdon is the Orchid sister to Rebel and Dillon. The shimmer in this pretty appears more Golden. I used Two thin coats.
 photo DSCN9557_zpscaec0af9.jpg

Zoya Brooklyn- Brooklyn is a frosty "White Gold" shade. Brooklyn is a little brush strokey. I used Two coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN9610_zpsab2cfdfb.jpg

Zoya Monet over Dot- Monet is a glitter topper. This polish is made up of iridescent hex glitters suspended in a, barely-there, pink jelly base. I had to add a boisterous amount of thinner to get this polish to work. As I received it, it was unusable. The formula was insanely thick and the glitter spread non existent. Once I added the thinner I was able to work with it, but it still gave me some troubles. IDK, I want to love it. t is really ethereal and looks so pretty in the bottle.... the formula leaves much to be desired.
 photo DSCN9365_zpsec2a7325.jpg

Overall, I am a bit disappointed in this collection. I'm not sure what, but something is missing for me. While the colors are really pretty, they don't feel special to me. I am SUPER disappointed in Brooklyn. A golden frost? Really?... And while I appreciate Zoya's effort with Monet, the execution of the topper fell flat for me. That formula is like glitter glue.
Strangely enough the shades I like best are the Two cremes, Dot and Cole.  Especially Cole... They are effortless and flattering. I almost wish they had released all the other shades as creme-jellies a'la Cole and Dot, I think that would have been a more interesting collection.

Thankfully, I am stoked on the new Summer shades. I really think they redeemed themselves with the Summer colors. I hope I love them on the nail as much as I do in the bottles. How did you guys like the Awaken collection? Any faves here?

Delush Polish Spring Awakening Collection Swatches

(**Press Samples**)
Hey it's Monday!!!

If there was a way for me to skip Mondays all together, I would do so. I despise Mondays.I don't really have an exceedingly good reason for my hatred. It is not like I go out drinking every weekend and end up with wicked hangovers to fight off on Monday. Maybe Mondays just have bad cosmic juju around them or something... And now I sound crazy... Point being I am a complete crab-ass today :S.
Know what I am not crabby about though? This beautiful Spring collection by Delush Polish. For this release Delush did Six new glittery crellys that perfectly capture the season for me. This is one of those collections where I just adore every shade. They are all so dreamy and playful. They all look like little bottled Easter eggs.

 photo Desktop14_zpsa723ce50.jpg
All swatches are shown with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Delush Polish Fleur de Peche- This beauty is a light peachy, creme-jelly base, with a perfect amount of subtle sparkle. I am IN LOVE with the accenting glitter blend she used for this base. I can pick out red and raspberry hexes, as well as gold and varying tones of green. I love that this polish looks so "floral". I also adore the base tone as it is insanely flattering. I used Two easy coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN8979_zps71983f9f.jpg

Delush Polish Basket Case- This shade is a clean White crelly base accented with tons of matte and neon glitter in smaller hexes and squares. This shade is so much fun and just awesome. The glitter colors and sizes look like a sprinkling of confetti. I used Two easy coats, though looking at this photo, I probably should have done a thin third coat.
 photo DSCN9010_zpsfc827f4a.jpg

Delush Polish Medusa's Verde- This beauty is a light seafoam green base with a perfect amount of pearlescent shimmer. Accenting this base is a blend of golden, green and copper glitters in varying shapes and sizes. I used two easy coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN8953_zps840ff2da.jpg

Delush Polish I wanna Dance with some Bunny- Adorable... :D. This shade is a marshmallowy white crelly base. This one is packed with all kinds of interesting goodies. There are neon Pink hearts, large Aqua dots and large pastel yellow hexes. There are also smaller blue and pink hexes and teeny tiny yellow and pink matter glitters also. I used Two easy coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN8928_zpsbbaa66ee.jpg

Delush Polish You Blue me Away- This pretty is a vivid sky blue crelly base with a subtle shimmer. Accenting this pretty base are dark blue, ccopper, violet, pastel yellow, pink, green and golden glitters in varying shapes and sizes. I used Two easy coats for my swatch.
 photo DSCN8919_zpseba2375f.jpg

Delush Polish Destined for Grapeness- I can't ever get enough of these lilac crelly blends. This one features a light shimmery base accented by violet, white, blue, lavender, pink and silver glitters in varying hex sizes. I used Two easy coats for my swatch,
 photo DSCN8896_zps2528a09e.jpg

All of these shades have amazing formulas. I was so happy that I could get away with just two coats of each shade. They all have a fantastic spread of glitter and were very easy to work with. I love that Delush did a mix of shimmery and creme bases for this collection. I am a huge fan of shimmering crelly bases, they look so delicate and beautiful.

I am loving this entire collection. If I had to choose faves I'd go with Wanna Dance with some Bunny, Fleur de Peche and Medusa's Verde :D. Which are you loving most?

One, Two, Tweak

(**Press Samples**)
Yay for caffeinated Mondays!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was pretty mellow, it was nice. I am severely, overly caffeinated today. I am seeing noises and everything. I had to chug some coffee to get myself going and now I am shaking haha. Today I want to share Two looks I did using some shades from the beautiful KBShimmer Spring collection for 2014. I really love these shades.

For this look I used some of KBShimmer new creme shades, as well as the glitter topper and a really cute and unique crelly-glitter. On my index and Pinkie nails I started with a base of KBShimmer Honey Do List. I then went for creamy gradients with Honey Do List and Pansy-Monium. To give my gradients an extra bit of flash I used KBShimmer Rush Flower Traffic to create a sparkling gradient over my creamy gradient. On my middle, ring and thumbnails I wore three thin coats of KBShimmer Daisy about You.

KBS Look photo DSCN8742_zpsfe024263.jpg

Since I wore the O.P.I "Glitter off" base coat I decided to change my Index nails after a day. I just peeled off my glitter gradient and painted my index nails with KBShimmer Pansy- Monium. The stamp came from the holiday Bundle Monster set. I used Konad White special polish and BM plate BMH09. I top coated my nails with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.
KBS Look photo DSCN8790_zps7912c649.jpg

I actually ended up wearing this entire collection as pairings. I love that KBShimmer did some kick ass cremes for this release. They are wonderful shades with amazing formulas. I really loved wearing these. I love Purple and Minty shades together.

Happy caffeinated Monday!!!!

Fit for a Sea Goddess

(**Press Samples**)
Good morning and happy Tuesday!

Today I want to share some cute pairings I wore over the past few weekends. All of these beautiful shades come from the China Glaze Sea Goddess collection. The Sea Goddess collection is made up of Six new textured polishes ranging from super sparkly, to subtle and adorable. I really loved these shades and I loved wearing them.
Ever since the O.P.I peel-off base coat came out I have been on a textured polish kick. I love that when I am done or ready for a change I can just peel my textures off and not worry about removal at all.

China Glaze Tail me Something- A stunning shade of micro- glitter, light Purple. This pretty is sooo sparkly it is almost blinding. The formula seems to be made up of nothing but micro glitter and small hexagonal glitters in a beautiful shade of Purple. I used Two easy coats of this color. I paired this sparkler with China Glaze Sand Dollar Make you Holla which is a creamy White textured base base accented with small glitters in a rainbow of colors. This is definitely the ultimate "cake batter" nail polish with that awesome texture. I used Three coats of this shade.
 photo DSCN8242_zps5fdc6773.jpg

My next pairing was all about Pink. I went with China Glaze Shell we Dance which is a beautiful shade of light Raspberry texture shimmery goodness. This pretty has a " shimmery base" accented with small raspberry toned glitter. I used Two coats of this pretty. The light pink shade is China Glaze Wish on a Starfish. I LOOOOOVE this soft shade of pink which is accented by an amazing flash of golden duochrome. Very "seashell pink" feeling. I used Three thin coats of this beauty.
 photo DSCN8308_zps29969489.jpg

And last but not least is this pairing of mermaid-y proportions. China Glaze Seahorsin' Around is the answer to anyone who was praying for a textured version of Zoya Charla (O.P.I Catch me in your Net and all is dupes). This baby is a Teal foil with a slight Golden duochrome. The finish is very intense, sparkly and just beautiful. The only downside to this shade is that it can stain your nails. I used Three thin coats. For a soft contrast I used China Glaze Teal the Tide Turns. This pretty is a creamy "seafoam-teal" creamy texture base accented by small mossy green glitters. I used Three thin coats of this shade as well.
 photo DSCN8148_zps907bfb77.jpg

I really adore the mix of extremely sparkly, and creamy textures in this collection. I also love the theme behind it. I definitely get an oceanic feel from them, very "treasure chest". I love that all of these are unique in my collection. In a sea of textured polishes, these still manage to stand out for me. These have been out for some time now and should be available where ever China Glaze is sold.

I loved wearing these as pairs. Do you have any faves from this collection?

#NailArtFeb Californails Challenge Day Seven: XOXO

(**Press Samples**)
Hello and happy Friday!

Today is day Seven of the Californails "Totally Doable- I have a life" challenge. Today's prompt is XOXO. Initially, I had intended to attempt a freehand look. I must admit that my attempt did not go at all how I had envisioned. I'm still very intimidated by freehand nail art. So.. I went with an open interpretation of the XO theme. XO= kisses and hugs, right ;)? For this look I chose all Nicole by O.P.I shades from their 2014 core expansion.
Nail Art Feb Day 7- XOXO photo DSCN6300_zps12386957.jpg
Index and Pinkie nails: These nails started with a base of I Shop Mintage. This dreamy shade of Mint Green is Spring perfection. For my "O's" I used That's Just Grape then I went back and dotted with I Shop Mintage to create little "O's". I topped my nails off with Seche Vite, followed by Twee & Honey This is Matte-ness top coats.
Middle and Thumb nail: For these nails I started with a base of Teal me Something New, this shade is a fantastic shade of vivid Teal. This sucker stains badly. It is crucial to prep properly before wearing this shade. On these nails I did a stamp with Pueen plate Pueen41 and Konad White special polish. I topped these off with Seche Vite, then INM Northern Lights.
For my Ring nail I started with a base of Something About Spring, which is a lovely, classic Hot Pink creme. I then accented with an all over kiss stamp from Bundle Monster plate BM303 and Konad red Special polish. I then added a little Black Kiss with Bundle Monster plate BM03. On top of my little Black Kiss I did a bit of INM Northern Lights to make the kiss stand out. To finish it off I did a coat of Seche Vite.

Even though it is an "abstract" interpretation of the XOXO theme, I quite like these :D. They are so cheery and playful. The next prompt in the challenge is Hearts, which should be fun.

Thanks for coming by and happy Friday!
