#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome! Guest post from Laura of Polish All the Nails

Hi everyone!!

Today's post is a special Humpday treat. A few weeks ago I did a glitter placement manicure and I had linked back to one of my favorite bloggers, miss Laura of Polish all the Nails. She does AMAZING glitter placement manicures that always manage to leave me speechless. Her patience, precision and creativity are a force to be marveled at.
I was beyond ecstatic when Laura offered to do a guest post for me. I desperately wanted to share her amazing art, but I could not bring myself to ask her for a guest post.. silly, right? I mean, I know how time consuming these types of manicures can be... I was so honored and excited that she wanted to do a look for me. I shall consider this AMAZING manicure from miss Laura an early birthday present :D (I turn 27 tomorrow o.O).

I give you, the amazing Laura!!
 ------------
Hi everyone!  I'm Laura and I blog over at polishallthenails.com and I'm so happy that Cristina agreed to let me do a guest post for her.  She does the most fabulous work and I'm so proud I could contribute a mani.  I'm best known for pretty complex glitter placements so course I had to one for LTHP.
 photo unnamed-4_zps001e827f.jpg
After a few days of experimenting and brainstorming, I decided that I should do a rainbow glitter placement using matte square glitter.  It may look complicated but there is a system involved.  First, I applied two coats of Urban Outfitters Blue Velvet.  When using small glitter like this, it pays to keep your base colour thin and an even, otherwise it will be more difficult to place the glitter.  Starting with my thumb, I applied a thin stripe of top coat down the centre of my nail and laid down a column of glitter using an orange stick.  Pay attention to the spacing in this first column as it will set out the spacing for the rest of the nail.  Working in columns and reapplying top coat as needed, I filled out each side of the nail.  Once complete, add two coats of Seche Vite and you're done!
The Verdict: I'm really happy with how this mani came out.  It has rainbows - my favourite - and neat, even rows of glitter - also my favourite.  I'm just happy I could contribute just a little glitter to Let Them Have Polish.  Thanks again Cristina!
-----

No, THANK YOUUUU miss Laura! I really hope you guys enjoyed this fantastic manicure. I hope I can continue to develop my skills in glitter placement. Laura is definitely a huge inspiration. I don't know if I will ever have this kind of patience. Until then, I shall marvel at Laura's skills and continued creative use of loose glitters.

Thank you guys for stopping by!

I was having a coughing fit... and I threw my lower back out  -___-. I mean, REALLY? Who does that? lolol... Who throws their back out from a coughing fit? Anywho, I'm taking it easy and hoping for a speedy recovery because I have lots I want to get done. I am also dying to play with my new Pueen stamping plates!! Nails by Cris! feat My Two Jennifers

Good Morning loves!

Today I have some looks I did on Two of my lovely gal-pals. This past weekend was pretty crazy for me. As usual I waited until the last minute to do my Holiday shopping... So, that was fun lol. I have not had time to do anything with my nails since Friday! As I sit here typing this, my nails are bare... And much too long.
I love doing nail art on my friends because they get to enjoy it as long as they please. Many times I don't get to enjoy the looks I come up with. I simply do not have the time to "wear" polish and my looks. I have to swatch, swatch, swatch!! Usually when I do my looks, they are just that :(, not full manis. There is just SO much product coming in during the holidays that I am having a hard time keeping up. Also, remember back in September? When I had to be out for Two weeks because of my Surgery... That DID NOT help haha. That seriously backed me up majorly. So here we are, almost end of the year and I haven't even picked my top releases of 2012 or done a single X-mas mani :(. I hope to change that this week. We shall see.. My goals for this week are pretty ambitious...

To see these cool looks just continue reading!

Nails by Cris! Featuring Jen's Jem-Picasso's!

Hi loves!!

So my friend Jen is now a total polish fiend thank to yours truly *curtsies* lol. Last time I did a massive purge Jen got most of the polishes and she and her awesome little girl have been having some fun with colors! I love creating polish fiends, and future ones too! So anyways, Jen came over some time last week and got a kick ass layered mani done by moi. There was SO much going on and yet it all worked perfectly! We though they were a littlle Jem and a little Picasso so Jen named her her Jem-Picassos :D!
She also wanted to rock some awesome rings for her photos so I went into my LTHP polish ring stash and she chose a ring I made out of China Glaze Luxe and Lush and Midtown Magic (oval) and a ring I made using several Bettina Disco Collection Colors (round). LOVE how the rings complete this look!
Ok, so we started with a base of Lime Crime in Milky Ways on all nails except the thumb and Ring Finger, which got a base of Sation Shock me Twice Pink. On the white nails we also did a thin layer of Julie G My Private Palace to give the nails some extra bling. On the Pink nails we did a topper of Lush Lacquer in Salt n Peppa. On the White nails we topped it off with Sparkles by Julie in Graffiti. Graffiti is an amazing blend of Black hexes and bars with shards in Blue, Red and Yellow. It is such a bold, fun and eye-catching polish. Surprisingly easy to work with. These looked SO freaking awesome!!! And I am so glad I have finally convinced Jen that nubs are better than acrylics any day!! Shorties all the way!!!

Here is a shot of all polishes used.

And here is a neato macro of Jen's and mine favorite nail :D!
I love working on Jen's nails because this girl is just so much fun to hang out with and she always lets me do what I want with her nails :D!

Aren't these like a party on your nails!!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week Ends with Melissa of The Daily Nail and her Flossy Nails

Good evening!

Awwweee shizzz!!! Got one more guest poster up my sleeve... Hells yeah!!! So I really wanted this blogger to guest post for me and I just plain could not work up the courage to ask her (lol)... During a twitter convo it was decided that Melissa of The Daily Nail is awesome and guess what? This is her very first guest post EVER! Uuuummmm. Yeah.. I asked and she agreed!!!  FANGIRLING all over the place here! The Daily Nail on LTHP?!!! Umm what?!!!  We all know who Melissa is, her blog is pretty much the nail art bible! I've been following Melissa since before I even considered starting a blog. So for her to have agreed to be on my blog for her very first post ever is just a standout moment in my blogging days! I hope you guyes enjoyed these past Two weeks!
-----
Hi everyone!!  I'm so excited to be writing this post- my very first guest post ever! I'm thrilled (and flattered!) that Cristina wanted me to do a design! Thanks, Cristina! :D
Recently, I was tempted by a few of the photos Cristina posted on Instagram of friendship bracelets that she was making. Remember those from Jr. High/High School? Oddly enough, being the craft nerd that I am, I have never actually made them. I was more of a hemp jewelry maker back then, I made so much of it that I actually sold it to my classmates! Anyway, Cristina's pictures made me want to try it out. Unfortunately, my early attempts were scary and sad–nothing like hers! lol  However, after a ton of failed attempts and a few swear words, I finally got the hang of it. I am currently sporting 4 bracelets of varying designs and widths. I look totally hipster. (you know, without the ironic glasses and skinny jeans)
When Cristina asked me to do a guest post, I was racking my brain for something cool and worthy of her blog, and it struck me—friendship bracelets! I was inspired by Cristina to start making them- what more perfect design could I do for my guest post?!

I used:

Thumb:
CND Bloodline
American Apparel Downtown LA
American Apparel Lopez Canyon
CND Electric Orange
Zoya Arizona
American Apparel Manila
China Glaze Happy Go Lucky

Index:
Pink: China Glaze Heli-Yum
Orange: CND Electric Orange
Yellow: American Apparel Manila
Green: CND Green Scene
Blue: CND Anchor Blue
Purple: American Apparel African Violet

Middle:
Black: American Apparel Hassid
Turquoise: American Apparel The Valley
Purple: American Apparel African Violet

Ring:
Green: Sally Hansen Grass Slipper
Purple: American Apparel African Violet

Pinky:
Black: American Apparel Hassid
Blue: CND Anchor Blue
Yellow: American Apparel Manila
Pink: Zoya Shelby
Green: Sally Hansen Grass Slipper
Basecoat: Cult Nails Get it On
Topcoat: Cult Nails Wicked Fast + Seche Vite.

(Now this is an addition by me) HOW AWESOME is this?! Melissa's bracelet nails were inspired by actual bracelets I have done. It took me all of a split second to realize what she had done and I was touched and totally amazed at the same time. She re-created my bracelets on her nails!!! Umm what?!! How?! Don't matter... Too freaking awesomeeeee!!!!
----
Is your mind blown yet?!!! I am seriously touched. I don't know how many of you guys are following me on IG(letthemhavepolish) but the bracelets that Melissa has depicted on her nails are all bracelets I have done, color scheme and design, dead on! How amazing is that?! When this post came in I literally jumped off the couch and had to show my husband. Melissa is just on a whole other level when it comes to nail art and creativity. I am still fangirling over here... So hard... So again, I want to thank all of the amazing, lovely, talented ladies that helped me out during these past Two weeks in keeping my fab readers company. This will be a seriously though act to follow! It's been an amazing Two weeks but I am ready to come back now!!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Sarah of Chalkboard Nails

Happy Sunday!!

I'm kinda sad guest week is ending! I wish I could feature even more talented, amazing bloggers. But now it's time to get back to biz! I hope you guys missed me, these girls have made it SO hard for me to come back with a bang lol! I mean, just go back through the past Two weeks of guest posts and there is so much beautiful, perfect work done by my fellow beauty/ nail bloggers. I'm gonna have to sit down and think really hard about what I'ma do to wow you guys back into loving me hahahaha!
SOOO! Today's guest is a blogger is one that I look up to, quite honestly. Sarah of Chalkboard Nails may not have been around the blogging scene for long, but we all know who she is! I mean this girl, literally, burst into the nail art scene with designs that are so out-of-the-box, creative use of techniques and AMAZINg freehand skills. There is no stopping Sarah when it comes to busting out some unique and eye-catching nail art... Needless to say... I just HAD to have her on to finish out a week of amazing manicures!
-----

Hello everyone! I'm so pleased to have been given the opportunity to write a guest post for the lovely Cristina. I hope you all enjoy what I've put together!
I started off this manicure with a base of OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! I love the color because its dark and moody without being pitch black. Then, using a small nail art brush and OPI Alpine Snow, I painted on some tiny petals, grouping them together to create a random large flower pattern on all of my nails. The manicure actually looked pretty cool at this point, but I did want to add just a bit more detail to it. After cleaning off my nail art brush, I added some coral detailing in the middle of the petals using theBalm Coral Reef-ined
I'm very pleased with the way this came out! It kind of looks like a vintage-style pattern to me, like something you'd find on a gorgeous full skirted 50's dress or something. And really, can you go wrong with floral print? I think not. :)
Thank you all for reading, and thank you Cristina for asking me to be in your guest post lineup!
----
This week would have been incomplete without Sarah's amazing nails and nail art. I can't thank enough, all of the ladies who agreed to post for me while I was gone, and I hope I can repay the favor some day ;D. I am starting to feel almost normal again. But anywho, thank you Sarah for taking from your time to do this guest post for the LTHP crowd!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Rie of Nails and Noms

Good evening!!

The night belongs to one of my other mayah nail crushes. Miss Rie of Nails and Noms. Her perfect canvases are just to die for! Rie is an awesome tatted up gal who has awesome sense of style and the cutest hair ever!! I just love this girl! I wanna go hang out with her and have some of these noms she speaks of ;-p. She is also obsessed with kitties, so just based on that fact alone I HAVE to love her!
----------

Allo Everyone!!

Whoa... Huge deep breaths here! I am so SO excited to be able to share this manicure with you all today on Cris's blog!!! I have been a super fangirl of LTHP since before my blogging days and this is just.... O____O
*squeals*
Anywho, my name is Rie and I come from the land of http://nailsandnoms.com"Nails and Noms
. Well, mostly nails since I have a slight problem with eating my noms before I remember to take photos of them. ~_^ Cris asked me if I'd like to help out while she's resting up from her medical procedure and I of course said "Oh Hell Yes!". ^_^

I decided to browse through my forever long list of manicures from my Pinterest inspiration board and after hemming and hawing with my roomie I finally decided on http://pinterest.com/pin/97108935686054936/ Lightning Strike Nails! I believe the original home for this awesome manicure is http://justtryinyournail.tumblr.com/ Just Try In Your Nail's tumblr.

Lightning Strike Nails

I was so excited with how these turned out that I totally forgot to write down the names of all the polishes I used. :p I started off with A England Camelot as my base though. Then I think I used A England Galahad, A England Avalon, and Contrary Polish Purple Smoke for the background. I used a random white polish for the lightning strikes since I didn't have a gel pen.

The lines were super crisp before I added my topcoat, but I still think it looks pretty awesome this way too. Plus it'll last longer on my nails with top coat. ^_^

Well that's it for today folks! I hope you all enjoyed my visit to LTHP and I want to thank Cris again for letting me pop in. Have a speedy recovery and get some rest girl! *mwaah* ^_^
----
Rie.... You rock so hard! I love these. I had been seeing this look pop up on pinterest and thought it was so cool but my nails are too short to achieve this look. Rie's nails seem to look AMAZING no matter how long or short they are, she can rock a round shaped nail, a square nail, and everything just looks SO good on her skintone (LUUUCKY!!). Thank you so much Rie for the daring and awesome nail art!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Jeanette The Swatchaholic

Good Morning and happy Caturday!!

Today is "nail crush day" here at LTHP. The Two ladies in charge of today's guests posts have been my biggest nail crushes for a long time!! I love all different shapes and sizes of nails but a true stand-out in nail perfection is Jeanette of The Swatchaholic. Jeanette has beautiful hands and nails and everything she does is perfection, from execution to photographs. I can't get enough of J's amazing nails! I really HIGHLY suggest clicking these to make them larger!
---

Cristina is one of my biggest nail crushes and I admire her and her stunning nail art skills. She is so talented and I am always in awe with her creations. ❤

When Cris asked me if I would like to write a guest post I was honored and then a little terrified about which manicure I could make. But when I recently made my
first baby steps with water marbling I knew that my next water marble would be for Cris. :)
Last week finally a store from the Turkish brand Flormar opened in my town and of course I went a little shopping crazy. The reason why I was especially excited about the
opening is one of their nail polish ranges which previously wasn't available in Germany: The Supershine Miracle Colors. They are glass flecks heaven and their finish is comparable to the
Color Club Take Wing, Orly Cosmic FX or the Bettina Disco collections. There are 34 of them in Flormar's assortment and I bought most of them the day the store opened. But hey they were on sale! :D
This water marble is just my second water marble ever and it took quite some time because my first choice of colors just worked ok-ish together. I couldn't get a nice flower design on
my ring finger and pinkie nails because the colors didn't spread nicely enough in the water. Lesson one for water marbling learned: if possible marble with nail polishes from the same brand.
I left the old marble - a subtle shimmery blue water marble - on my nails and picked Flormar U25 (a vibrant glass fleck nail polish with a blue jelly base and pink/green duochrome glass flecks) and Flormar DC03 (a copper/gold/green metallic duochrome from their current limited edition) and this time they've spread perfectly in the water and creating the flower design was much easier.
I only needed two water marble flowers for this attempt and now my wishlist for more of their nail polishes got even longer because these worked so perfect for marbling even
for a beginner like me. :)
Glass flecks I love thee! I could stare at close-ups of glass flecks nail polishes for ever. :D

I hope you all enjoyed my second baby step in water marbling and thank you so much Cris for having me here on your blog. Get well soon love! *squishes* ❤
----
Ummm!?? Are you kidding me?! These are just fantastic!! I've never really seen a marble like this one. I love the "oil-slick" look she created with these beautiful polishes. I'm actually a little speechless at how beautiful these are. Just look at that macro shot!!! If you don't drool over that... Then you must not have a soul or something lol because it's just STUNNING! Thank you SO much Jeanette for this stunning nail art you have created!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Elizabeth of Life and Polish

Good evening!

This colorful and lovely post comes to us from the sweet Elizabeth of Life and Polish. Liz and I have been following each other since we each started blogging. Does that make sense lol? Anyways, Liz is a super sweet girl who can combine glitters and do awesome animal-print manis like it's no ones biz.
----

Hi loves & thank you so much for checking out my post! I'm so honoured that Cristina asked me to guest post for her over at Let Them Have Polish. Cristina's nails & stamping skills always leave me in awe, and I love her little shorties!

If you don't know me, I run a little Canadian blog called Life in Polish, and Cristina is one of the first people who introduced me to stamping, and I have not looked back since!
I wanted to show off a look that I felt screamed Cristina, and when I happened upon this Sinful Colours polish, Dream On, I knew I had to use it. I'm always jealous of the colours Cristina dye's her hair & this colour definitely reminded me of some of the vibrant hair she's sported as of late! I then used the saran wrap method to dab China Glaze Passion and Revlon Copper Penny, then stamped my nails with Cult Nails Nevermore and konad m57 and the zebra print pattern.
Thank you Cristina and all your readers for allowing me to show off my nails! I hope you enjoyed them :)
----
Now, Liz doesn't know this, but this mani really does match my hair! Like pretty much literally, in terms of brightness (How I wish I could add a stylin zebra print to my hair). Anyways, I LOVE this! The play of the Gold, the neon Purple and the stamping are just perfect. I keep looking at her pics because I love how the layers all seem to be floating on top of each other. Thank you so much for the "Totally Cris" nail art Liz! You seriously nailed me!!!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Jen The Polishaholic

Hi guys!!!

Today I have one of the best known nail bloggers ever. The amazing Jen from The Polishaholic. I don't think she needs much of an intro right?! I mean she is the swatching QUEEN and her photos are always to die for. AND she made me into a splatter mani-fiend! Even though Jen has not been a nail blogger for much longer than I have, she is one of the bloggers/blogs that I really look up to and admire. My blog wants to be like Jen's when it grows up!
-----

Hi guys!
I am so excited to do a little guest post for Cris! LTHP is one of my favorite blogs, Cris is always over here making me lem everything while dazzling me with her nail art skills. When she asked me to do a post I had a little panic, doing nail art as a guest post on a blog that always does fantastical nail art is stressful haha! I sat down with about 15 ideas and finally settled on something Fall-ish. Maybe I'm a weirdo but I am so glad it's finally fall, we don't really have seasons in So Cal as it's perpetually summer but at least it's not usually as hot during "fall"! Everything I grab for lately to put on my nails is jewel toned or vampy, I'm obsessed you guys!
Alright, so back to nail art. I went on a hunt for striping tape to do this, I saw Melissa over at The Daily Nail use it in one of her posts a little bit ago and I had to try something out with it! It seems like something that is good for people like me who fail at nail art. Good news, it's pretty easy to do and I'm loving the results...I'm pretty you will see a ton of mani's like this over on my blog soon since it's easy to do and it's a great way to spruce up a mani that is a couple days old.
For the base of what I'm calling "Fall Starburst" I started out painting my nails with a coat of Essence Gorgeous Bling Bling, which is a gorgeous burnt orange with flake like golden shimmer! Then I sponged on Essence Call Of The Wild , a dark green with green shimmer, and Sation Rock-A-Guy- Blue, an awesome dark blue creme! There was no pattern or anything, it actually looked quite fug on it's own...I didn't even take photos because I didn't want to remember how ugly that was on it's own. After everything was dry I busted out my striping tape and put 4-5 strips on each nail in a burst kind of pattern and went over it with a coat of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. Unfortunately I was a little too impatient with my top coat and it smudged some of the lines which of course looks a thousand times worse in a photo using macro than in real life...but I really liked how this turned out!
Hope you all enjoyed my little bit of Fall nail art, big thank you to Cris for having me!

♥Jen
----
I am so honored to have Jen on the blog today(Somehow.... I got my blogging GURUS to agree to be on my little corner of the interwebs, even I was surprised when they agreed lol). And how awesome is this look?! Jen brings up a fantastic point about how tape manis are an easy way to spruce up an old mani, or just create eye-catching looks with minimal effort. I LOVE the contrast of the creamy color on top of all the jewel tones. As I told Jen... This mani makes me wish I lived in a state where there actually are seasonal changes... Not just Summer and Summer "light" lol. Thank you so much Jen for this beautiful Fall Starburst!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week! Featuring Chelsea of The Nail Network

Good evening!!

The night belongs to Chelsea of The Nail Network. Once you guys see her pictures it will be pretty clear why I needed Chelsea on board for this week. I've been following her since she started out and have always LOVED her photos and her perfect manicures. She has a great range of stamping abilities as well as freehand, but no matter what she is doing on her nails, you can always expect perfection and beautiful photos.
----

Hello readers of LTHP! My name is Chelsea and I run The Nail Network blog. Cristina kindly asked me to write a guest post for her and before I get to the nails, I want to thank her and send her a huge hug and get-well-soon wishes! Let Them Have Polish was one of the two blogs that I followed religiously when I first started getting into nail polish and it is so cool to be guest posting on one of the greatest nail blogs on the internet! Let's get to the nails, shall we?
For this post, I wanted to do some really fun nail art. I haven't had the chance to do much nail art lately and I really miss doing it, so I thought this was the perfect occasion to spend the time doing some. I started out with two coats of Monica, from Zoya's recent Designer collection for fall, and then sponged Orly Fowl Play up from my cuticles to create a gradient.
Once that was dry, I put a matte top coat over it and waited very patiently for it to dry completely. I then took a very small paintbrush and some regular glossy topcoat and drew little leopard print spots on all of my nails. I'm very pleased with how these turned out; they are subtle but gorgeous when you take the time to look at them closely. I hope you enjoy them as well and thank you for reading! If you would like, you can check out my blog at www.the-nail-network.com. :)
-----
See what I mean!!! This girl rocks my world with her perfect nails and kick-ass photo taking skills. There really isn't much I can say, Chelsea's beautiful work speaks for itself! I love her play with textures and finishes. Very unique! A picture is worth 1,000 words indeed!! Thank you so much Chelsea for this fantastic nail art look!

#AwesomeNailsAreAwesome Guest Week!! Featuring Amanda of Fashion Footing

Good Morning lovely readers!!!

This week of guest awesomesauce continues with Amanda of Fashion Footing. So for this guest week I hand-picked a lot of the gals you are seeing. BUT I also wanted to give a chance to some bloggers to come on board and get some exposure. SO! I asked for some volunteers on Twitter, only to be bombarded (in the best way possible) by girls who wanted to guest post for me. That was such a heart warming surprise. Amanda was one of the first to reply and she has been a follower and supporter of LTHP for a long time so it only made sense to have her on board for this week of awesomeness!
-----
Hey guys!

I am so honored that Cris is letting me show my little nails to you guys on her blog! The very first blog I started following when I was getting really into nail polish was LTHP, so this is a little bit surreal!!
It took me a while to think of what I wanted to do for this post. I don't stamp and my freehand nail art skills are... well... basically non-existent! What I do best is glitter. Glitter glitter glitter But I didn't want just a plain glitter manicure. I mean, this is Let Them Have Polish. You guys are accustomed to quality and creativity! So I took some time to think.
Then I decided to do a glequin manicure. Glequins are glitter sequins; Sammy the Nailasaurus named them glequins, because who wants to say Glitter Sequins all the time?
ANYWAY, this is my glequin manicure!

I started with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme, my go to black. One coat people! Then I placed the glequins on the nail, one by one. My pinky was definitely my favorite but I am not a terribly patient person so there was no way that was going to happen on all of the nails! LOL

Well, I hope that you enjoyed my glequins and thank you Cris for letting me guest post! I can't wait to see what you've come up with when you get back! :-)

xoxo
Amanda
http://fashionfooting.blogspot.com
------

I LOVE GLEQUINSSS!!! And I love Amanda's use of Glequins here. I have a ton of glequins that I'm just dying to play with and seeing Amanda's post only intensifies that urge(lolol "urge" like glitter is some kind of drug.... bahahah.. wait...????... Is it?) I love how she did her ring finger mosaic style. So playful and awesome! Thank you so much for the sparkly nail art Amanda!!
