Cult Nails Casual Elegance & Nail Vinyls -Nail Art Look

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Thursday!

Today I want to share this look I did using shades from the Cult Nails Casual Elegance collection and Zig-Zag Nail Vinyls. Those of you who were lucky enough to score this trio on pre-sale will also be getting a sample of the nail vinyls I used to create this look. Funny enough, not long before I found out about this set shipping with Nail Vinyls samples, I had actually placed an order for some nail vinyls. I had never tried them and thought they were pretty neat.
For those who are not familiar with nail vinyls, they are pre cut "tape (vinyl)" strips in varying shapes and sizes used to create cool nail art effects. For my middle nail accent I used the regular sized chevron vinyls sample that came with my trio.

This look features Winter's Light(sparkling Purple), Casual Elegance(Lilac creme), Tempest(White creme), Nevermore(Black Creme) and Lethal(Metallic Silver). To create the middle nail accent I placed the chevron vinyls "back to back", instead of interlocked with each other, to create the diamond and zig-zag pattern. I "cleaned up" my seams using Inglot Pro Perfection glitter stripers in #52(Silver prism) and #95(Violet glitter). I finished my look off with a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

I kinda like how these turned out a bit Easter-y. Easter- Glam... let's make it a thing... Anyhow, I am loooving Nail Vinyls! I ordered one of the multi packs and I can't wait to use them in all kinds of different ways.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Ultimate Mermaid Nails with Inglot Spangles

(**Press Samples**)
Hello and happy Thursday!

Today I want to share some of my favorite nails I have ever done. I'm calling these my ultimate mermaid nails. Back when I first received my set of Inglot nail and body spangles, I just knew this look had to happen. I'd also done a "disco mermaid" version of these some months ago for LTHP's birthday. These though!! THESEEEEE!!!!
Ultimate Mermaid Nails photo DSCN6188_zps58c3c058.jpg
For these ultra mermaid nails I started with a base of Milani's Blue Zoom. Once my base color was top coated and dry I started to work on my spangle placements. I worked on one nail at a time. I used a slow drying top coat and set my spangles in an overlapping pattern. Once I was done placing the spangles on all my nails I did a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top top coat to seal my "scales".

I used Inglot Spangles in #23. These pretties have an amazing duochrome effect. They all shift from Sapphire Blue to Emerald Green and Copper at extreme angles. These were the perfect colors and shape for this look I had been dreaming of for months. These Inglot spangles are also very easy to work with :D.
Ultimate Mermaid Nails photo DSCN6171_zpscc6b0f73.jpg
I am so madly in love with how these turned out. They may have even come out better than I had envisioned. It is always such a great feeling to see a mani I had been wanting do come to life beautifully.

Thanks for stopping by!!! I must go back in the water before my tail dries out though ;).

Zoya Normani and Inglot Pro Perfection Glitter Stripes Nail Look

(**Press Samples**)
Good morning!!

Today I have a simple look featuring some Inglot Pro Perfection glitter striping polishes. Some time ago Inglot released an amazing range of striping glitter polishes and I was lucky enough to receive them for review. For this look I decided to revisit an old manicure of mine from 2011. I wanted to keep it simple because I love the classic beauty of Zoya's Normani. The glittery stripes were the perfect touch to spice up my Greige base.
Zoya Normani Look photo DSCN3781_zps979880e2.jpg
This simple look started with a base of Zoya Normani. Once my base was dry I  did my glitter stripes. I used Inglot Pro Perfection glitter stripers in #66 which is the Gold- Holographic glitter, and #92 which is a Black and Silver glitter. On my Pinky and Ring nail I did full stripes, and on my Index and Middle I did falling stripes. I finished my look off by top coating my nails with a generous layer of Seche Vite.
The Inglot Pro Perfection stripers come in a beautiful range of glitter mixes and retail for $10.00. I kind of wish they had also released some of them as regular glitter polishes. They are densely packed with sparkles and are just amazing. The only issue I have is that the brush is not very fine or easy to control (for me at least). That is the only downside I could think of with these babies. Nothing using my own stripe brush cannot fix.

Even tough this is a simple look I really love it because I can still enjoy the beauty of Normani without being too distracted by the nail art.

Thanks for coming by!

New Releases from Inglot- New Freedom System Gloss Palette and Eyebrow Shaping Pencils

(**press samples**)
I promise, last post for the day :D.

First things, first; You guys ROCK! Thank you so much for all your heartwarming and encouraging comments on my previous post. I am so happy that you guys are as excited as I am. I am really, REALLY looking forward to all the awesome interactions the new additions to LTHP will bring. I also want to thank all of you for understanding why I need to do this as person, as well as a blogger. So, I can't say this enough; THANK YOU ALL for sticking by me during my adventures in beautyland!

I figured, what better way to usher in a new era of awesomesauce; than by introducing you to some new goodies from Inglot! Back in August Inglot did a small release of several new products, and I was lucky to receive a few of them for review. Inglot is a cosmetic brand I've long been wanting to try. While I have had nothing but amazing experiences with all of their lacquers, I had not had a chance to play with their makeup. So, I was ridiculously excited to have a chance to try, not only their new Freedom System Gloss palette, but their new Eyebrow shaping pencil/crayons as well.
 photo Inglotfreedomsystemgloss_zps537a48ba.jpg
The new Freedom System Gloss palette is made up of Five BEAUTIFUL, lightly shimmering, shades ranging from soft Nude, to chic Lilac. The texture of these glosses is just amazingly smooth and moisturizing. The pigmentation of the Two shades I've had a chance to actually wear was just stunning. These are opaque enough to tint the lips perfectly, but they play off of your natural lip color. Essentially these will work on any skin tone. They will look different on every person, but just as beautiful. I really thin, they've done a wonderful job with the colors they chose to release. My favorite part of these is that they do not feel sticky at all, they are just perfectly pigmented and smooth.
Even though they are a gloss, they actually wear very decently and last a long time. I applied mine with a brush. Application was an absolute dream on the Two I've tried, one of which I forgot to photograph ;-\. But, don't worry... I have a feeling this palette will be getting a lot of use. I am also certain these shades look amazing when mixed together.
#201: A soft shimmering coral-toned nude shimmer. I've worn this one, one my lips it turned into a healthy Golden glow. It was beautiful.
#202: An Orange-toned shimmering Coral. I've not had a chance to wear this one, but on the arm swatch it was fairly pigmented and slightly metallic.
#203: A berry toned Red shimmer. Another shade I am just dying to wear. On my arm swatch it brought out some slight Orange undertones with a slight Golden shimmer.
#204: A pink-toned mauve shimmer. On my arm it was a bit darker than it is on the pan. This one will get a lot of love I am sure as it has just enough Pink in it.
#205: An amazing shade of light shimmering Lilac with Pink undertones. I have a lip swatch of this beauty below. As you can see on me it is a Lilac-leaning pink, and that shimmer really brings this, doll-like, color to life. I got many compliments on this shade. I wore it for several hours and it was very comfortable, and I needed no touch ups.
The glosses are available now. You can head to this post for full availability details on all the products in featured in this post.

Another of Inglot's new Releases I got a chance to try out is their new Eyebrow shaping pencils. These come in Three shades and have a stiff, waxy consistency. They are easy to work with and make shaping and setting my brows so quickly.
These pencils are the kind that twist up, hooray for no wasted product by having to sharpen! These also have really nice tight caps, they click with a vengeance and sometimes even give me a hard time opening, so no worries about your product drying up there ;).
#63: is a light Ash Brown. #62 is a deep Espresso brown. This one is pretty much my go- to eyebrow pencil at the moment. #61 is a Black pencil. I used this one for a bold brow and it was pretty badass ;D.

I am SO happy to have finally had a chance to try some Inglot cosmetics. They are really amazing quality, and I really like the concept of the Freedom System palettes. They have so many different options! I love when companies give the option to customize your kit and Inglot is king when it comes to that. Needless to say that I am madly in love with the new Freedom System gloss palette. The colors are just beautiful and effortless. I definitely recommend the glosses if you are into just the right amount of color and having a nice range of customizable shades. I am also very pleased with the eyebrow pencils, though I am still mastering them.

Have you had a chance to try Inglot products? If so, which are your faves?

Purging the Squares- Meaningful Post Time

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Humpday!

This is a little bit of a sappy post for me. I know it might seem weird to just about everyone reading this.. But I really feel that this post is the "end of an era"; the era of the square nails. I've been blogging since August of 2010, and for the majority of my time blogging my nails were a very square shape. I loved my square shorties and really took pride in keeping my nubs neat and clean.
But now it's time for a change. You may have noticed that my nails now have a more rounded shape to them, and I am even letting them get a bit longer than I used to. For me, the process of blogging is about seeing the growth an evolution of my craft. I am constantly striving to do better than I did yesterday. I don't compete with fellow bloggers, I compete with myself. Can I be a better blogger today than I was yesterday? That is the challenge I present myself every day.
In presenting these little changes, and expanding my content on this blog, I have really found a sense of purpose and have really found what I want to do in  life. I enjoy talking about nails. I LOVE experimenting with makeup. And I LIVE for dressing up and having fun with my wardrobe. I so love every aspect of being a girl and being able to share that with my readers.
There is so much more to me than just nails. I really do believe that being polished extends from head to toe. While this blog is rooted in nail art and all things nails, I really do feel like I can share all my girly passions with you guys. Along with the new nail shape, I plan on including more makeup looks and even some fashion posts. I'm really looking forward to growing this blog more and more with time. Blogging is something I enjoy and am passionate about. This has gone past a hobby for me. This is my passion, my blood, sweat and tears.
In struggling with my health at one point I felt less than human.... Through this blog and interacting with you all I have started to feel like a person again and it brings me such joy to share my passions with some of the most amazing people I have ever encountered. So with that in mind, we say goodbye to the square nails and usher in a new era of all things girly and beautiful!

To see close up swatchies of these polishes just continue reading ♥.

Golden Frames with Inglot and Zoya

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Friday!

I'm kicking this weekend off in a neutral, but eye- catching look. True story: I HATE Brown nail polish. I don't know why, because they generally look so freaking good on my nails... But I just don't like Brown... I find it boring.... So, needless to say I was not suuuper excited to try Louise from the Zoya Cashmere Fall Collection. But, I was HELL BENT on making myself enjoy this color, because in "normal land" this is a really pretty color... It's just in "Cris Land" that beautiful browns like these don't fly hahaha. So, I went for some glittery frames using one of my new Inglot Striping nail art polishes. I went with #66 Golden holographic glitter stripper to compliment my neutral, Chocolaty brown base.
Neutral Frame photo DSCN9456_zps015ed070.jpg
I will be reviewing Louise later on, along with the rest of the Cashmere's. The formula was amazing though. For this post I want to focus a bit more on the glitter striping polish from Inglot. Inglot released an AWESOME rage of striping polishes, which are packed with sparkly goodness and a fine striping brush. I wish the brush on the Inglot strippers was a bit thinner and longer, but it works well if you move patiently. The frames were really easy to do! I had never tried this look before, I was surprised at how quickly and easy they were to do. I finished this look off with two coats of KBShimmer Clearly on top, top coat.

So, can I honestly say I like this mani? No, I LOVE it! Who knew little Golden frames on a Chocolaty base could be so chic and pretty? I was so surprised at how much I enjoyed this look and happy to have found a way to enjoy a Brown nail polish.

What is a color polish you just CANNOT get into? Have you found ways to rock it?

LTHP Turns THREE in Inglot Goodies!!

(**Press Samples**)
Hello my painted beauties!

Time really does fly when you are having fun! Today is LTHP's THIRD BIRTHDAY!!!! I cannot believe Three years have gone by so quickly. I also can't believe how much has happened in those Three years. I've met so many amazing people through this blog. I've had some amazing experiences, and so not so amazing ones too. I've learned SO MUCH about this industry that I love.
Through the years this blog has grown to be so much more to me than just a blog. I have a real passion for this industry and I see this blog as a stepping stone to greater things (not that blogging itself is not great:). I have so many goals I know I will achieve some day. Of course, I want to thank all of you who stop by every day and keep me inspired. I really see you guys as my friends and your feedback always means so much to me. You guys really do make this fun and worth it!
For this Blogaversary I wanted to do something REALLY bling-y and special. The second I received Inglot's new nail art and body spangles I just KNEW a scale-y, blingy look was in order. And what better occasion to do such a look than on the birthday of mah blog-baby!
Inglot Nail Art Spangles photo DSCN8591_zps58adf983.jpg
For this "disco-mermaid" look I started with bases of Inglot O2M polishes. Once my base colors were dry I started placing my circle spangles over a light coat of a slow drying clear coat. I placed the circle spangles one by one on my nails, patiently, with a toothpick. I intentionally overlapped them a bit to create a scale-y look. I finished my nails off with a good coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.
I could not stop staring at my nails once I was done. I've never done such a blingy look. I also had a blast working with these Inglot glequins.

Oh... and I rounded my nails.... Yup... I did...

Inglot O2M #684 and #687
Inglot O2M Bday Look photo DSCN8567_zps59b8d4b5.jpg
I ADORE these Two shades together. #684 is a beautiful shade of Hot Coral creme with a slight Golden micro shimmer that barely translates to the nail. However, it does aid in the application of the color. #687 is a FANTASTIC shade of Minty Blue creme with that same micro shimmer quality that #684 has, but it does show a bit more when the color is on the nail. These shades have really opaque formulas, they can be a bit streaky if you don't use a light hand. I used Two coats of each shade for full opacity. The O2M polishes are water and oxygen permeable.

I'm off to celebrate my bloggy b-day by unpacking some goodies that came in the mail today! I can't wait to see what year number Four will bring... More makeup, more nails, more cats and maybe even some fashion. LTHP is my baby, my creative expression and I am so happy to share it with all of you! Thank you to all of the readers and companies for your continued support of my painted ventures!!

Pink-ish Wednesday! Ombre Fun with Inglot Colour Play Nail Polishes

(**Inglot Press Samples**)
Happy Humpday!!

It's only been about an Eon since I've done a Pink Wednesday... So, here is a Pink Wednesday post ♥. A few weeks back I received the Inglot  Colour Play pastel range. These babies are perfect for ombre manis, they really take the guess work out of picking your shades. For this look, I also went back to my roots by doing some stamping. I used my Pueen Love Elements nail stamping plate set.
Inglot Ombre Stamped with Pueen photo DSCN5568_zps002535d4.jpg
This look features Inglot Shades, from Thumb to Pinkie: 388, 387, 386, 385 and 384. For the stamping I used Konad Black Special polish and Pueen stamping plates Pueen 32 on my Middle and Ring finger and Thumb. For my Pinkie and Index nails I used Pueen 28. To finish my nails off I did a coat of Seche Vite followed by a light coat of IN Northern Lights.

Here are my base colors before stamping and top coating. 388 is a clean, light Lilac purple creme. 387 is an aweome Blue toned bubblegum Pink creme. 386 is a muted Violet- Mauve creme. 385 is a light Pink- toned Mauve creme. 384 is a beautiful muted Coral creme. All of these polishes have a slight flash of smooth complimenting shimmer. You can see the Golden shimmer in the bottle photo above. That said, the shimmer does not really translate to the nails, but it does aid in appication. All of these were really easy to apply and all did well in Three, thin and easy coats.
Inglot Ombre photo DSCN5542_zps316d620a.jpg
I miss stamping so much. But at the same time, I'm pretty excited because I have all of these awesome Pueen plates that I have not really gotten to play with yet. So I have those to look forward to :D. I have been terrible about keeping up with plates honestly, if you guys know of any sets I may have missed out on, or new brands, share them in the comments!!

So, I am LOOOVING these Inglot Colour Play range. I love them so much, they have even earned a spot on my wall racks. These are great for nail art of all kinds and I just love the formulas and beautiful shades.

Thanks for stopping by darlings!

Inglot Spring Pastels 2013- Watermarble Nail Art

(**Press Sample**)
Happy Humpday!!

I am at such a loss of words today :-S. So much has happened over the last few days that I don't even know where to start. There has been some utter, horrid nonsense going on; Muffin's been sick, I've been sick, husband got laid off.. It was hectic for a few weeks, but hings are settling down now.
Among all the madness some really awesome things happened too. If you pick you the latest issue of Nail It! magazine, you will see a picture of a manicure by yours truly featured in the Snapshots section. It is SO cool to see my nails and name on an actual magazine! That had been one of my goals for some time now.
Anywho, these are my very first Inglot polishes, and I can honestly say I am a fan. They released a range of 10 pastel shades for Spring 2013 Ranging from Yellow-toned Peach, to Aqua Blue; these colors were begging to be played with. I immediately knew I wanted to do a marble-skittle of sorts with these. These Inglot polishes have a great formula for watermarbles, great pigmentation a really good spread in the water.
 photo DSCN5480_zpsabb72828.jpg
For this look I started with a White base done with Cult Nails Tempest. For the Pinkie and Index marbles I used Inglot 381(Orange toned peach), 390(Vivid Mint Pastel) and 383(Orange toned Coral). For my Ring and Middle nail I used 382(Yellow toned Peach), 387(Soft Lavender-Pink) and 389(Aqua Blue). All of these Inglot polishes have a creamy formula. I'm not sure if it was just me, but I was detecting the slightest hint of shimmer, so barely there it is not really worth mentioning. I think it definitely aids in the application.
To finish off my look I top coated my Pinkie an Index nails in my signature sparkling INM Northern Lights, followed by a coat of Cult Nails Wax That, wax finish top coat. To cover some bubbles I got on my Middle and Ring finger I did a light coat of Lynnderella Connect the Dots, followed by Cult Nails Wicked Fast to give the glitter a high shine.

I am loving the contrast of  colors in these marbles, and I really love the completed look. I am also loving what CtD did for my bubbly nails. Overall, I am so happy with how this turned out. I don't marble enough for how much I love the look of the technique. And you know what they say, practice makes perfect. I feel my confidence in my marbling grow with each marble mani I do. They are becoming more fun now that I am getting a good grasp. I think I finally feel comfortable about filming a tutorial about the way I marble.

How do you feel about watermarbled nails? Also, would you guys be interested in a tutorial? Let me know in the comments ♥.
