O.P.I Pink of Hearts 2014 Duo

(**Press Samples**)
In the midst of getting ready for work, I have also decided to get a quick post up for you guys :D. Todays quickie is all about O.P.I's Pink of Hearts release for their breast cancer awareness duo, 2014. Every year O.P.I comes up with beautiful Pink themed shades to support the breast cancer cause. This year was no exception with the introduction of a new crelly glitter shade and the revival of an old favorite.

O.P.I The Power of Pink- This adorable shade is a creme-jelly based polish. The base is a soft, milky shade of Pink. This beautiful squishy base is accented by matte white and fuchsia glitter. The glitter varies in sizes, there are chunky hexes and small hexes that create an almost floral look. I experienced absolutely NO problems when working with this color. The spread of glitter is great and the base is perfectly smooth and buttery. I used Three thin coats.

O.P.I Mod About You- Long time O.P.I fans will recognize this name. Mod About You is an O.P.I classic. This shade of soft, white- based Pink has been a favorite of mine for years. The formula is fantastic and does great in Two coats. I did notice that the new version is a slightly different shade than the original shade. I'm not sure if or when O.P.I might have reformulated this color, but my older bottle is definitely a more White based Pink, where the new one is slightly warmer and more vibrant (my camera hates photographing pinks so it muted this one a bit).

Here is a quick comparison I did on Instagram of the old Mod About You and the new one.
Along with these two beautiful shades the duo also includes an adorable, small glittery nail file with a BCA ribbon charm. This duo is available now at professional salons including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, Ulta.com and Ulta as well as a lot of other retailers and online. Retails for $16.95.

What do you guys think of this years duo?

NCLA Sweet Revenge Collection Swatches

(**Press Samples**)
BLAAAAAAAARRRRGGGG!

It's Monday... Me no likey Mondays. I had a nice, mellow weekend, those are always nice. Today I wanted to share my very first NCLA polishes with you. NCLA is an indie brand based out of, you guessed it, LA! They have some ADORABLE polishes and amazing decals as well. Since swatches and looks started floating around the bloggersphere featuring this brand, I had been wantint to try them. So, when the lovely people at nailpolishcanada.com contacted me about featuring some of the new NCLA shades I jumped at the opportunity. These pretties are from NCLA's Sweet Revenge Collection.

NCLA Mostly Sunny with a Chance of Sprinkles
Mostly Sunny with a chance of Sprinkles photo DSCN7700_zpsd8b95532.jpg
ADORBZ!!!!!!!!! Mostly Sunny with a Chance of Sprinkles is a sweet, white based, baby Blue creme packed full of small Black hexagonal "sprinkles". I love the shade of Blue of the base, it's so clean and vivid. The formula on this color was a bit thick, and the glitter bits like to clump together. I found that keeping a light hand made the application much easier, and also achieved a more even spread of the sprinkles. I used Two light coats for my swatch. A top coat was a must to bring out shine and smooth out the surface. I absolutely ADORE this effect and kind of want to nom on my nails.

NCLA Sugar Fix
Sugar Fix photo DSCN7685_zps9dc67caf.jpg
NOM NOM NOM!!!!!! I will come straight out and say that this polish won me over on the basis of it being a Grey-jelly base alone! I. LOVE. GREY. JELLIES!!!!!! I love the mix of "cloudy and colorful" in this polish. The base is a chic shade of true Grey jelly, and the accents of Aqua and Fuchsia glitters are just perfect. The application of this color is effortless. I used Three thin coats to build up the jelly base to full opacity. This swatch is also shown with a top coat to bring out the shine.

I am so happy to have finally had a chance to try out this awesome brand. I love their packaging and their vibe. They are so trendy and "with it". NCLA is available via several e-tailers, mine were provided to me by the lovely people of nailpolishcanada.com, where they retail for $16.

Have you tried any NCLA polishes? I feel like I need to pick up a few more. Which have been you faves?

Muffin Mon... Er... Tuesday? O.P.I Euro-Marble

Hello lovely people!!

So... I'm late with this post :(. Yesterday was not a good day for me. I woke up pretty sick and whatnot so... Needless to say the polishing was not happening. Today I woke up feeling better, but still quite out of it. I'm sorry this post is so late and short. I've really been struggling with my health and energy lately. I would love some consistency right now :-s.
This look started with a clean White creme base. I did a Blue themed watermarble with some of the new O.P.I Euro-Centrale shades. I used You're such a Budapest, I saw...U saw.. We saw... Warsaw and Can't find my Czechbook. I always foget how much of a pain it it to clean up Blue polish after marbles. Well, for me at least. Once I was done with the cleanup, I was not entirely happy with my marble. So I topped it with my secret weapon, INM Northern Lights. When that didn't save it with for me I did a Konad stamp from plate M63 in Konad Black special polish. I then went back and topped the whole thing off with O.P.I Don't touch my Tutu to give it an "underwater" look. I actually really adore the finished look. I'm glad I stamped and sammiched the whole look.

Muffin is being a princess lately.... And hey!! It's a Truffle photo-bomb!

Here is the marble before I stamped over it. IDK what it is but I was not really happy with it... :(
That is all for me today. I hope you guys like this mani. I'm so sorry I was late and short. As soon as I am feeling better I will be back up to full speed. In the mean time, if I disappear for a little bit, don't worry! It just means I need a little break and will be back shortly!

Spring Rolls Jelly Sammiches!

Hello my beauties and happy Friday!!

Today I have a quick post for you guys featuring some yummy glitter-jelly sammiches. While I was swatching my China Glaze Bitz 'n' Pieces Collection I figured it would be fun to see them sandwiched as well.
I won't be going into huge detail about each look since these are simple jelly sammiches. This is still one of my favorite methods to spice up a plain manicure. I will break down the polishes used from base color to top color to keep things easy haha!

China Glaze Tart-y for the Party, Bling it On- Sammiched with O.P.I Care to Danse?

China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around, Mosaic Madness- Sammiched with O.P.I Don't touch my Tutu

China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On, Graffiti Glitter- Sammiched with O.P.I Don't touch my Tutu

China Glaze Fade into Hue, Glitz 'n'n PIeces- Sammiched with O.P.I My Pointe Exactly
If you are a lover of the jelly sandwich look you will definitely love the Bitz 'n ' Pieces Collection by China Glaze! Also, I really want O.P.I (or anyone) to release more jellies a'la O.P.I NYC Ballet Collection. Those were, and still are, some of my favorite polishes ever.

For some strange reason I am SO very reado for the weekend to start!! Maybe I should rock a jelly sammich to get it started right!!

Indie Mania! KBShimmer Swatches

Monday Monday...

So when this indie brand contacted me I pretty much did a little dance, squeed and promptly replied with a big YES, I will feature you. The brand I am talking about is KBShimmer. Christy has been in the bath and beauty game for some time but just recently got into the polish- making game. KBShimmer nail polish first caught my eye when the brand was featured in this Beautylish article. I loved the uniqueness of her polishes, and the fact that they did not need undies (A base color).
There was no way I could narrow down which polishes to review so I asked Christy to send me some of her personal favorite polishes. I could not be more thrilled with the pretties if I had picked them myself. These are some of the most unique and beautiful polishes I've ever seen/ am happy to own!

Pink Wednesday!! O.P.I Pink of Hearts Set for 2012

Happy Humpday!!

Today I am finally showing you guys the adorable set that O.P.I released this month for Breast Cancer Awareness 2012, Pink of Hearts 2012. This BCA tag team includes a new glitter by O.P.I and an O.P.I classic that pair up perfectly to create one fierce Breast Cancer Awareness manicure. O.P.I has donated over 25,000 to the Susan G. Komen foundation in connection with the Pink of Hearts program.  It is always great to see a brand be connected with the issues, and do their part to help out.

O.P.I You Glitter Be Good to Me over O.P.I I Think in Pink
You Glitter be Good to Me is a brand new glitter by O.P.I created for this Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. I was not expecting to love it as much as I do. You Glitter be Good to Me is made up of small Piggy Pink glitters with Magenta hex glitter accents. I'm fairly sure that this glitterbomb could be worn alone but I love how it looks layered, as you can see the textures of the glitter better this way. YGBGTM is very easy to work with. I had no issues getting a nice spread of glitter and an even balance of hexes on the nail. Bottom line? I LOVE this combination. These Two polishes were made for each other!

O.P.I I Think in Pink
I Think in Pink is an O.P.I classic. This soft, squishy Pink is a dream come tru for me. I am a sucker for "Breast Cancer Pink". You guys know what I mean right? It is such a distinct shade of Pink. Anywho, this is a warm, light Bubblegum Pink "crelly" (as dubbed by Jen). The perfect middle ground between a creme and a jelly. The formula on this color does require a light hand to avoid streaks and bald patches. It is not a troublesome formula, not sticky, not thin, not thick, it actually flows nicely, just takes a patient hand. I used Three thin coats for the swatch you see above. This shade was also a big surprise and a hit for me because I am a sucker for anything slightly jelly and I have no other Pink like this one.

And because I have a problem... Every polish that is even remotely jelly-like in nature gets the sammich treatment from me.. So naturally, after I did my layering I just had to see if ITIP was "thin" enough to do a sammich with... Surprise! It is, maybe a little too dense for the technique but it still created such a cute effect! So this is a base of I think in Pink with a coat of You Glitter be Good to me followed by one more THIN coat of I think in Pink.
I am so glad to have these pretties as a part of my BCA arsenal, which grows every year. Let's save the TaTa's girls!! I will always be happy to see O.P.I, an the many other beauty brands that take part in BCA, do so every October. Cosmetics with a purpose are always welcome, and embraced, in the LTHP household!

What are your thoughts on this adorable set?

31 Day Challenge 2012! Day Two: Orange Nails

Happy Caturday!!

I'm keeping in really short and sweet cuz it's late Friday nite and I wanna go chill with the hubster lolol! The prompt for today is Orange Nails. I kept it simple by doing a "BWitches Brew" jelly sammich.
For this challenge look I started with a base of Zoya's Ziv(swatches soon). I followed my base with Three thin coats of Twee & Honey's Viscera(swatches soon). To create the sandwiched look I topped Viscera off with O.P.I Barre my Soul followed by O.P.I Ya'll Come Back Ya' Hear? The layering of different toned jellies gave the glitter and metallic base underneath a smoldering, yet murky look. Hence why I dubbed these my "Bitches Witches Brew" nails.

Thanks for stopping by! Sam, Rie and I will be back tomorrow with our next prompt, which is Yellow nails.  Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Orange looks for day Two!

Etsy Mania!! JENsations Swatches and Sammi

Happy Friday!!

Today I have some swatches of some super cute polishes from Etsy Shop JENsations. This shop is ran by a super sweet gal named, you guessed it, Jen. Her cute little star shaped bottles made her creations a stand-out for me. I love cute little touches like that.

Pink Wednesday! Cult Nails Untamed Nail Art and Swatch

Happy humpday!!!

Today I have a fun and simple mani done using another of Coco's Collection fierce colors. These shades are bringing out my inner tween and I am LOVING it. For this look I was only intending to swatch and stamp. To my,very happy, surprise Untamed has a perfect jelly consistency so that's when the manicure took a turn for the edgy.
I started with Two effortless and adorable coats of Cult Nails Untamed. The glitter used for the sammich is Sation's Video Game Vixen. Once my coat of glitter was pretty dry I did one more thin coat of Untamed over the glitter to create an awesome sprinkled look. For the stamping I used Bundle Monster plate BM321 and Konad Black special polish. For the accents on the big flowers I used Silver studs. I topped the whole thing off with some Seche Vite. I ended up loving this to bits!

Here is a picture of the sammich before I went ahead with the stamps. Doesn't this look yummy?

And here is a swatch of my base color, Cult Nails Untamed. This is an adorable shade of vivid Bubblegum Pink jelly packed full of Twinkling Violet sparkles. The sparkle is just barely there, very whimsical, dainty almost- I am a fan! This is just Two coats. I only did Two since I was planning on doing nail art. Had I been just wearing the color itself I'd say Three coats will be a much more opaque look. I do like that this polish has huge versatility due to the fact that it is an awesome jelly texture.
And there you have the Second in a Series of Five looks I will be doing featuring each of Coco's colors. I really love how this turned out. There is a little bit of a girly edge to this manicure. It seems these colors are having that effect on me :D! Happy Pink Wednesday!!

What do you guys think?

Zoya 2012 NYFW Gloss Collection Swatches and Sammies

Hello and good afternoon :D!

I hope you are all having a good day so far! So today I finally get to show you one of my most anticipated collections for the year. The Zoya NYFW Gloss collection. The Gloss Collection is made up of Three jelly texture polishes in deep jewel tones for Fall. While these have had a mixed reception from my fellow bloggers I absolutely LOVE them and I could not wait to have them in my hands (or on them for that matter).
Since jellies are not everyone's "thing" I decided to show swatches as well as some glitter sammiches to show them "in action". If you are not a fan of visible nail line these might not sing to you a whole lot but these are extremely versatile.
To see close-ups just continue reading ♥.

O.P.I Ya'll Come back Ya' Hear? Glitter- Jelly Sandwich

Good morning loves!!

Yesterday was my first day at work and it went great! I'm really excited about this job. It feels good to have a nice job with normal hours. The people I work with are all really nice as well. That always makes things a lot better :D. I'm super happy!

Today I have my first glitter-jelly sandwich. As a treat to my self for getting this new job I rewarded myself by getting an Orange jelly. What color more perfect than O.P.I's Ya'll Come Back Ya Hear? (which has an amazing formula). I am so IN LOVE with how this turned out. And I also cannot believe that it took me so long to try one of these. They look like some sort of candy or cracked glass marble... LOVE THIS!
I started with Two coats of Ya'll Come Back ya Hear? Then I applied one coat of $OPI Only Gold for Me. I decided that was not blingy or flashy enough so I switched to Milani's Gold FX which really gave me the fish- scale look I wanted. So I "applied" Two coats of Milani Gold FX. I finished off with one more coat of YCBYH? and topped the whole thing off with some Seche Vite for extra shine and to dry all those layers o.O
I'm not looking forward to removal.. But who cares when it looks this awesome! I feel like a fiery mermaid or something. I have soooo many ideas for more glitter-jelly sandwiches. These are a great and easy way to make your nails look fierce and like you put a ton of work into them... YAY!

Have you tried a glitter sammich? What is your favorite combo?
