Nicole by O.P.I Nude & Neon Stamped Gradient (+ Video Tutorial)
(**Press Samples**)
A while back Nicole by O.P.I shared this awesome gradient that went from nude to neon. This girl right here fell in love with the look pretty hard and decided I need to try the combination for myself :D. The contrasting geometric stamp was an impulse add. I had been wanting to play with this Red Angel plate. The design is really interesting and eye-catching. Tutorial after the jump ♥.

#FAILFriday- Sad Day for the O.P.I Summer 2014 Neons
(**Press Samples**)
Happy Friday!!!
Today I am sharing a manicure I had very high hopes for, and ended up as a FAIL haha. I have not done one of these FAIL posts since 2011 lolol... I had a good streak, right? It is not that I absolutely loathe this look, I don't. It's that I think I could have done a MUCH better job at it. I think my marbling skills are just hella rusty.
For this look I decided to play with the new O.P.I Neon shades. For this Summer season O.P.I released Six new neon shades along with a "special" white- creme base coat you layer them over to get the full neon effect. For reasons that seem to elude me now, it seemed like a good idea to marble with them. So I gave it a try...

Of course I started with the special base coat, which is really just a white creme. It is no secret if you want your neon shades to really pop, and apply smoothly, a white base makes all the difference. For the marble on my Pinkie and Index nails I used O.P.I Life Gave me Lemons, Hotter than you Pink and Juice Bar Hopping. For the marble on my Middle and Ring nails I used O.P.I Push and Pur-pul, You are so Outta Lime and Down to the Core-al.
I was a bit worried that they would not work at all for this technique because neons can sometimes spread funny in the water, or dry too fast. These Six pretties actually worked really well. I love how the colors kinda mixed with each other creating new colors in the swirls. Since I was not entirely pleased, and because it is me... I added a coat of O.P.I Desperately Seeking Sequins over my marble to hide/ distract from some of the imperfections.
The O.P.I neons should be becoming available at O.P.I retailers now. They are a recent release so they are probably still trickling into stores. I hope to do some more successful nail art looks with them in the future. The shades are really fun and have really nice formulas.
Will you guys be giving any of the new OPI Neons a try?

Fun with the Sugarpill Elektrocute Pigments and Cold Chemistry Palette
Good evening loves!!
Today I have a makeup post for you guys... Mainly because I have no nails ready to go just yet. I'm drowning in Fall nail polish collections and trying my hardest to get trough them as quickly as possible. So, this past weekend I got to attend The Makeup Show in Orlando, as many of you guys may already know, if you follow me on Instagam (@L_T_H_P). I always take these shows as an opportunity to really go kind of crazy(er) with my makeup, because no one judges you there, in fact it is embraced. I live in "small town Fl" and here ppl look at me as if I ate babies for breakfast because I am different....and awesome.. lol.
I was super excited to finally get a chance to play with my Sugarpill Elektrocutes neon, sparkly pigments. I also got a chance to play with my Cold Chemistry palette, which I got a few weeks back and just had not had a chance to play with it.
I also listened to you guys on my last #EOTD post and I am (with much trepidation) sharing full face pictures on this post as well. A lot of you beauties suggested that I show how the eye makeup worked with the whole face look so.. yeah :D.... Granted they are IG shots, but... baby steps :D.

Dollish Polish Halloween Frights Collection Swatches
(**Press Samples**)
Happy Humpday!!
I am a baby, a huge scaredy cat. I don't do horror movies. I don't do "horror theme park nights". I remember one year I tried going to Busch Gardens Howl-O- Scream, which is apparently tame... And I left in a panic attack. I remember a boyfriend took me to see "Silent Hill" when it came out in theaters, I didn't sleep for weeks. I. DON'T. DO. HORROR. I just can't. I have this scumbag brain, that can create all sorts of horrifying images all on its own, I don't need any help hahha....
That said.. I LOOOOOVE Halloween Nail Polishes.. Especially of they are by the amazing Dollish Polish! Last year Dolly blew us away with her This is Halloween Collection. Which, BTW will be making a short comeback this year for a limited time during the month of October. This year Dolly has created Eight new, horror- movie inspired polishes. Each individual polish is inspired by a cult classic horror movie and they are just spectacular!

I must confess I've not seen most of the movies that inspired these shades, for the reason mentioned above lol. I am a huge baby, like seriouly haha. And even these beauties will not make me want to watch them hahha. Well, Ok I have seen "The Shining" and "The Exorcist"... but I hated every second of it ahhah. To see closeup swatches of these Halloween Beauties just keep on reading.

KBShimmer Classics! Oh Splat! & Toucan Touch This
(**Press Samples**)
Happy Tuesday!
Today I have Two of the most amazing handmade nail polishes EVARR!! So, when KBShimmer first started getting into nail polish she did came out with a bang. It took me a while to get my hands on these... But these two pretties have been KBShimmer staples for a while and I am so happy to finally have them as part of my collection.

Both swatches are shown with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on top for smoothness and shine.
KBShimmer Toucan Touch This
Toucan Touch This is an incredibly unique, neon Lime Green based crelly glitter blend. Get all that? It's so complex but so much fun. The neon lime green base is like nothing else in my collection. There is a rainbow of hexes in varying sizes as well as micro bars suspended in this awesome base. I freaking love this color and I wore it for a good week and still did not want to take it off. The formula on this shade is AMAZING, I had no issues with glitter spread and it did great in Three thin coats.
Pardon the "lobster hands" I had to do some editing to get the color to look right in the pics. It's SOO bright! |
Oh Splat! is the bestest, White crelly based, rainbow hex glitter blend. If you are a fan of the "birthday batter", "poptart icing and/ or cupcake polish look... Then you need this pretty. This shade has the best formula and great spread of glitter. I used Three thin coats.
Raise your hand if you've had these for ever!! I really feel kind of shamed that it took me so long to get my hands of these. I really send a huge thanks out to Christy Rose for always being such a rockstar and so kind and generous to LTHP! I am always honored and stoked to rock her creations!
Thanks for stopping by loves!!

#31DC2013 Day 6: I Heart Purple!
(**China Glaze Press Sample**)

Today I am sharing my Violet look for day Six of the #31DC2013. I had a hard time deciding what shade of Purple to go with... But once I landed on That's Shore Bright from the China Glaze Sunsational Neons collection, I knew I wanted to do something as cute and playful as the base color. I heart Purple (badum tssss)! More after the jump!

#31DC2013 Day 2: Orange you a Sun of Peach!
(**China Glaze Press Sample**)
Happy Monday and happy Labor day to my US dolls!
Day Two of the #31DC2013 the prompt is Orange nails. I decided to make this mani a throwback to the 90's "pop art" look. When I was trying to pick what Orange shade to go with, China Glaze's Sun of a Peach jumped out at me with it's awesome punky vibe. Stamping always feels like "home" to me. So, I reached for some plates that screamed "90's Punk" to me and went to work :D. I must say, every time I catch a glimpse of these nails, they make me smile.

This look started with Three fairly easy coats of China Glaze's Sun of a Peach, of their Sunsational Neons collection. I will rant about how much I adore this shade soon. Lets talk about stamps now! The zig zag stamp came from Bundle Monster plate BM201. The checker stamp came from Cheeky plate CH3 and the smileys came from Bundle Monster plate BM304. For those of yo who might be curious, I did my thumb to match the Middle fingernail. I used Konad Black Special polish for all the stamps.
I top coated my stamps in Seche Vite since I know that TC doesn't smudge when I do stamped art. I followed my Seche with a light coat of INM Northern Lights to give the look a little bit of extra flare. To finish the whole thing off I decided I wanted to mattify the entire thing, so I did a coat of Cult Nails Wax That. I adore this finished look of the mixed patterns and cute smiley faces. How can one have bad day when your nails look like this? I mean, really ;-D.

I knew I loved this shade from the second I read the name, Sun of a Peach. C'mon!! If that didn't make you at least smile, you are a grumpus cat hahah. This shade is the most amazing shade of pastel neon Peach, leaning Orange. I know the words "pastel" and "neon" should not usually go together.... But that is the best way I can describe this fantastic shade of summery fun. I seriously love this color and if I was only going to pick up ONE shade of the Sunsational Neon collection, it would be this baby right here.
The formula on this shade is not the best thing ever, but it was not as horrid as I was expecting from reviews I had read. I found it to be quite nice, smooth and even for being a neon shade. There was some slight streaking, but if you keep a light hand it should not be a problem. I used Three easy coats for my base. Here it is shown with top coat, as it dries to a satin-matte finish.
So, Day Three calls for Yellow nails.. Ahh my old nemesis.. YELLOW!!! I am determined to make this year's Yellow mani a great one! Now, I am off to see what all the other awesome ladies have done for their Orange Day prompt!!
Thanks for stopping by loves!

Salon Perfect Neon Collision Swatches
(**Press Samples**)
Happy Thursday!!!
Ahhh remember the days of etsy-stalking the Nail-Venturous shop for Floam? I sure do... I remember getting "cart jacked" so many times. I remember throwing hissy fits. I remember the day I finally got Floam in my hands thanks to a wonderful reader. It was a most glorious day. I also remember wondering how long it would take mainstream polish companies to catch on and start releasing dupes of indies.. The answer to that.... about a year and a half...
Enter the Salon Perfect Neon Collision Collection, available at Wal Mart, right MEOW! If you were a fan of Floam and all the other "floamy" releases, you will love the Neon Collision glitters. These neon glitter polishes are incredibly bright, fun and reminiscent of Floam. They even released a dead on dupe for Floam, which I will be covering in a later post. Micro neon glitters densely packed in a clear base? I'll take it in every single color combo you can think of!!
Salon Perfect Zapped over LVX Mynt

Zapped is a bright, lime neon Green and Blue neon glitter blend suspended in a clear base. The blend is heavier on the Green that it is on the Blue so it creates a cool, speckled effect. The spread of glitter is good on these, just a bit thick, not problematic. I think they could be worn by themselves, but I decided to layer all my Neon Collision shades for my swatches. I used Two coats of Zapped over my base color.
Salon Perfect Bang over LVX Deco
Bang is an awesome blend of Neon Orange and Marigold glitter in a clear base. This one is the only one that has two different sizes of glitter as it has slightly larger Marigold hexes. I had a HARD time photographing this because it is SOOOOOO bright! I used Two coats of Bang over my base color.

Zapped is an even mix of neon Pink and Blue glitter suspended in a clear base. I'd say this is most like Pink Floam. This baby was one of my faves in the bunch. I used Two coats of Zapped over my base color.
These babies are top coat eaters!!! You can see that on my photo of Shocked(Pink one). I had top coated it and by the time I had my photo, the top coat had settled into the glitter. So a good top coat is a must to smooth out these pretties. That said, these are awesome, bright, neon and badass!! I can't wait to wear and comp the Floam dupe for you guys! The Floam dupe, btw, is called Kaboom and I will be sharing that one by itself soon. I don't have a fave, I adore all of these!! I was always a sucker for this "colored sand" looking polishes.
What are your thoughts on the Neon Collision glitters?

Etsy Mania! Aphrodite Lacquers Birthday Polishes Look
Good afternoon and happy Friday!!
Today I have a fun look featuring some Aphrodite Lacquer shades. These polishes are from the B-Day Collection. I really loved this small group of polishes. Right now there is only one of the shades available on the shop. I hope she will be restocking the B-Day polishes because they are SOOO cute and fun.
This look features It's my Party, which is a vivid Neon Pink shimmering creme-jelly. I LOVED this shade. It is SO vibrant, but squishy and shimmery. The shade of Pink is the perfect, neon Barbie Pink. Application was great on this shade. I used Three thin coats. The awesome Purple shade is Wrapping, Ribbons, Bows. This shade is a grape Purple jelly packed full of micro electric Purple glitter. The formula on this shade is a little sheer and need build up. It is also best to wait between coats. I used Three thin coats for my base. Both of these shades dry a bit dull and gritty so a good top coat is a must. I really loved wearing these shades. Isn't it funny how sometimes less really is more? And here is a swatch of the loveliness that is Make a Wish from the Aphrodite Lacquers B-day Collection. This shade is a lightly shimmering White crelly base packed full of Small Silver hexes. This shade is simply beautiful. The formula was a dream to work with and I only needed Three thin coats. Aphrodite Lacquers are seriously some of my all time favorite Handmade polishes. I love her signature "sammich in a bottle".
What do you think of these pretties? Aren't they fun? I can't wait to see new goodies from Aphrodite Lacquers. In this mad, polished world of ours there are a LOT of talented ladies making beautiful polishes. It is SO hard to narrow down my favorite indie polish makers. I can safely say that Aphrodite Lacquers are definitely at the top of that list.
Do you have an indie maker(s) that always blows you away? I have quite a few myself :D.

Today Sam, Rie and I will be taking on day 14 of the 31 day challenge. The prompt is Flowers. I really didn't know what direction to go with for this prompt so I went back to my stamping roots and did a simple and cute Cheeky-cure :D.
This look started with a base of Julie G nail color in Oh Em Gee!. This is a radioactive shade of neon Barbie Pink. I did the stamp with my Cheeky plates. Plate number CH16, using Konad Black special polish. I accented the stamp with dots in O.P.I My Boyfriend Scales Walls and China Glaze Sunkissed. I topped it all off with some INM Northern Lights and Seche Vite.
Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Flower looks for day Fourteen!

Nails by Cris! Featuring Jen's Jem-Picasso's!
Hi loves!!
So my friend Jen is now a total polish fiend thank to yours truly *curtsies* lol. Last time I did a massive purge Jen got most of the polishes and she and her awesome little girl have been having some fun with colors! I love creating polish fiends, and future ones too! So anyways, Jen came over some time last week and got a kick ass layered mani done by moi. There was SO much going on and yet it all worked perfectly! We though they were a littlle Jem and a little Picasso so Jen named her her Jem-Picassos :D!
She also wanted to rock some awesome rings for her photos so I went into my LTHP polish ring stash and she chose a ring I made out of China Glaze Luxe and Lush and Midtown Magic (oval) and a ring I made using several Bettina Disco Collection Colors (round). LOVE how the rings complete this look!
Ok, so we started with a base of Lime Crime in Milky Ways on all nails except the thumb and Ring Finger, which got a base of Sation Shock me Twice Pink. On the white nails we also did a thin layer of Julie G My Private Palace to give the nails some extra bling. On the Pink nails we did a topper of Lush Lacquer in Salt n Peppa. On the White nails we topped it off with Sparkles by Julie in Graffiti. Graffiti is an amazing blend of Black hexes and bars with shards in Blue, Red and Yellow. It is such a bold, fun and eye-catching polish. Surprisingly easy to work with. These looked SO freaking awesome!!! And I am so glad I have finally convinced Jen that nubs are better than acrylics any day!! Shorties all the way!!!
Here is a shot of all polishes used.
And here is a neato macro of Jen's and mine favorite nail :D!

LTHP's First Cling- Wrap Skittle Mani!
Good Afternoon loves!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and a good start to their week. I had an absolutely fab weekend. Saturday I got to go to a little photo shoot/ party for the new Cult Nails Deceptive Collection. Maria hosted a little get together for a few of us #FLbeautybloggers at the Cult Nails HQ and we had SO much fun playing with the new colors and posing for photos. I will have about this day post soon :D!
Today's post features my first try at the cling-wrap mani. I'm not sure who originated this technique, but it is SO easy and so much fun.
My base colors from thumb to pinkie were: China Glaze Orange you Hot, Sation Loudest Color, Kiss my A's, Let's make Lemonade and Shock me Twice Pink. This looks features mostly Sation colors. For the cling wrap accents from thumb to pinkie I used: Bettina Pink Bikini, China Glaze Ride the Waves, Sation Tardy Tart, Oh My Oceania and Miss Emo Shun All. To add some contrast I cling- wrapped with O.P.I My Boyfriend Scales Walls over all my nails and then topped it all off with some Finger Paints Twisted. These looked AMAZING in person but the flakes and brightness of the neons were pretty much impossible to capture in my photos. There are many different ways to use cling- wrap for nail art. Just do a Google search for "Cling Wrap Manicure Tutorial". It is crazy the many different looks you can achieve with cling-wrap and some polish. I basically sponged, but with cling wrap.
Everyone should try this technique! It's an easy way to get some really cool nails! I can't wait to try this again with as many different color combos as possible.
Have you tried this look yet? Thoughts?

N-n-n-n-n-Nick- Nick-Nick- Nickelodeon- Nails!
I'm a kid of the 90's....
**Quick Edit**: Holy smokes guys! This is my 800th post!! Let's celebrate with some SLIME!!!
And in the 90's Nickelodeon was KING! I miss 90's Nick SO much. Remember Doug, Clarissa Explains it All, Hey Arnold and Rocko's Modern Life!? Man.... Those were the days.... Thank goodness for Netflix and their thorough availability of so many of these shows! So back when Nick was King they were all about the Slime and their colors were always this radioactive, Snot Green and... Well... Radioactive, Cheetos Orange.
Since I was such a huge Nick fan-girl it only seemed fitting I pay tribute to one of my favorite childhood memories with some slime-y nails using two of China Glaze's Summer Neons for 2012.
These colors are PERFECT for a Nick inspired mani! I used Orange you Hot? and I'm with the Lifeguard. I did the bases in alternating colors and the drip in similar fashion. My drips are not the best but I think they work for the look I was going for. I had so much fun working on these and thinking back to the countless hours I spent wishing I was on Family Double Dare and Guts... I topped it all off with some INM Nortern Lights.I hope these bring back some fond and fun memories for some of you! My husband pretty much cracked up and busted out laughing when he saw these and immediately yelled out "N-n-n-n-nick" LOOOl!
Ahhh the memories.
I hope this mani does Nick proud lol!! Any 90's Nick fans in the house?

Nails Inc. Floral Street and Kings Cross Crackle
Good evening all!
I know crackle polishes just became a "thing" again just last year, but doesn't wearing a crackle feel old school now? Nail trends come and go crazy fast don't they? Nails Inc. recently sent me one of their new Special Effects Crackle polishes to try along with a lovely White creme so I paired them for an eye catching look.
Kings Cross is a vivid neon Orange crackle. The formula on this crackle is the best I've ever come across. It applies like a jelly and you can really have a play on crackle textures. Meaning, the formula on this allows for thinner or thicker application for thinner or thicker cracks. It is very easy to work with.As you can see Kings Cross breaks up great and smooth. I hate when crackles get "lumpy" and you end up needing 17 coats of top coat to smooth it out. Kings Cross gets an shiny squishy texture once top coated and it looks awesome. The only downside is that I don't know how many colors this crackle would look good over since it's slightly sheer.
Here is my base color Nails Inc Floral Street. The name threw me off lol :D.
This polish was such a pleasant surprise. The formula on this color is so smooth, even and perfectly pigmented. This is not a very bright White. This is a "soft" White. The formula is not a jelly creme but it applies like such. This you see here is just Two effortless coats of Floral Street. This might just be my new favorite White creme.
If you like shatters but have had issues with formulas I suggest checking these crackles by Nails Inc. Out. Nails Inc. polishes are available at Sephora.
Thoughts on neon shatter? I kinda love it.

Etsy Mania!! Rockstar Nails With Love
Happy Caturday!
Today I have a cute polish by indie brand: Rockstar Nails. Shop owner Erika contacted me some weeks ago about reviewing one of her petties. She chose to send With Love my way. I had been checking this polish out for some time so when she contacted me I jumped on it!
For this edgy look I started with Three coats of Sation Let's make Lemonade. I had every intention of just wearing my neon Yellow nails but when I saw the bottle of With Love it was begging to be paired with my bright neon base. With Love is a blend of Black Hexes, Red hearts and large White Hearts. This is not the easiest polish in the world to work with. For this I did apply it like one would normally apply any other polish and you can see I had some trouble with the pieces wanting to stay in place or get on the brush in the first place. The nice thing about this bottle is that it has a nice long brush and BIG neck opening that you can use to kind of "stir" the hearts around in the bottle. I think next time I play with this I will be picking out the bits with an orange stick and placing them. I was getting these little "ghost bits" of Black stuff(see ring finger), not sure what the deal is with those. They were coming from the clear base so I'm not sure if the Black hexes are shedding or something. Doing the "picking and placing" method with this polish would eliminate the Black bits which fixes that issue.
As much as it might sound like I dislike this, I actually really like it a lot. I'm not feeling those random Black bits that look like smudges but I love everything else about it. I seriously LOVE the huge White hearts. She also didn't skimp on the red hearts and Black hexes. Shaped glitters are just hard to get on the brush, period. I really can't wait to play with this some more. Heart glitters are just SO cute!
Thoughts?
