My Best Friend's Wedding Series: Part 6

Holy Jeebs!!

This wedding is approaching fast and hard! Believe it or not this Saturday my best friend in the entire world is getting married! I've been working on a series of manis inspired by her wedding colors and patterns. I am running so low on time to get all my ideas out there... I'm pretty much convinced that the "winning" design will be created on the spot for Lizy though... Here is what I came up with for this look.
This one I did with the bride in mind. My pearl application is not great but this would be soo much easier to do on an other person. Anywho as my base colors I have Zoya Christinna and NOPI Kim-plenty in Love. I stamped my ring finger with the cute polka dotted bow design from Konad plate M78. I topped the whole thing off with lots of SV to test the durability of the pearls.... They held up quite nicely.

I'm really bummed I may not get to show you guys all the things I wanted to do but I really just ran out of time... I will be throwing lots of Holiday swatches you way pretty soon though! This week is just a little crazy!! I'm leaving for P.R on Thursday and I am so not ready loool!!

What do you guys think?

Julep Maven Boho Glam October Box

Hi loves!

Quick second post for today! I found these swatches just hiding in my draft folder and they are no good to you guys in there so here we go!
Say hello to Gayle. This is a pretty Plummy creme. It has just a hint of dustiness to it. It is a very pretty color and great for Fall. Is it the most unique? No, but it is really pretty. Where this polish really shines (no pun intended) is in it's formula. It is such a smooth and pigmented formula. Two coater. These pics were taken with no top coat.

 Great Fall color!

And this is the soft Malin. Now this color doesn't really do much for my skin tone but it is a soft seashell Pink pearly shimmer. The formula on this is sheer and it needs Three coats for full coverage but it dries fairly fast. This applied very smoothly as well. It's a pretty color but not really my thing.

The October box also included the Glow On hand cream which is absolutely amazing. It's not greasy and it soaks up uber fast. I'm looking forward to the November box.

Thanks for stopping by (again lol)

ManGlaze Mayonnaise

Hi again loves!!

I decided to dedicate a post to this color because I had several pics of it and I had not work it since December of last year. This is One of my Two ManGlaze's and I freaking love it. This is one of the most unique polishes in my collection and let me show you why...
So in these pics I have it in its original Matte form. Mayonnaise is a clean White matte creme but it's not chalky because.. You see... The genius behind this polish threw some micro pearly shimmer in the formula (which doesn't really show in my pics) that is absolutely to die for in person. The formula on this color is super easy to work with and you can almost get away with just one coat. The wear on these is absolutely ridic! For the pics I have Two coats of Mayo.

And here we have it with a coat of Seche Vite on top. This is just amazing!!! I couldn't be happier to have this on my nails once again.
Thanks for stopping by (again? lol) .. I love you guys!!

31 Day Challenge! Day 6- Violet Nails

Happy Caturday!!

Today's nails were a REAL challenge.... For some reason the color Violet wasn't really speaking to me at all... I love Purple but I could not get into the color at all. So, what I ended up doing was pulling anything that had a Purple tint to it in my stash I closed my eyes and pulled out a color. It ended up being a stretch but I think the stamping really pulled it together and made it "Violet"... Right? ;-)
So for this look I started with There thin coats of Zoya's Marley. For the stamping I used Bundle Monster plate BM16. This was my first time doing a Two- toned stamp. I did half in China Glaze Urban Night and Evening Seduction. I then dotted the flowers with Zoya Dannii and added little Purple gems to snaz it up a bit. I ended up really liking the look even though it took me ages to settle on what exactly I wanted to do. In the end I was inspired by the softness of the base color itself.

Here is a swatch of Zoya's Marley. A very soft pearly Lavender creme. I absolutely love this color. This is Three thin coats of color.
I really love when I haven't worn a color in a long time and it's like having a brand new color all over again. Thus, is the case with Marley. I had not worn her since Spring and I am so glad my blind choice led to this color.

Now, don't forget to check out Sam and Rie's blogs to see their Violet nails!

Zoya Cristina Christinna

Boo on Zoya for over spelling such a simple and beautiful name looool...

Anyways, today I have my Zoya namesake. I actually happen to like it quite a lot even though the color is the complete opposite of who I am. I'm loud and obnoxious and weird and random and this color is delicate, soft and totally bridal.

The reason why I only have a swatch is because I had intended this on being the base for a bridal water marble for my besties series but I kinda failed miserably because Zoya's Raven was just not made for marbling :(. But moving on.... I will eventually achieve my bridal marble... For now please enjoy a swatch of this lovely color.
Christinna is a lovely pearly White with just a touch of Silvery Grey. This color has a slightly sheer formula but it applies easy and dries quick. I really love this because it is such a wearable white. Here I have Three coats and no top coat. Pardon the janky ring finger nail. I had to patch it up because of a low break that could suck majorly.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Pink Wednesday!! O.P.I Nice Stems Swatches

Happy Pink Wednesday!!

Today I have swatches of O.P.I's latest release, Nice Stems. Inspired by flowers these Four shades are the epitome of girly without being overly dainty. These colors are bold, vibrant and perfect for Summer. Time for some Pink fun!

Be a Dahlia Won't You? Is an amazing glassflecky berry toned Pink with slight Purple flashes throughout. This is absolutely stunning and the formula is perfection. It has full coverage at Three coats. It has an advantage to being slightly sheer in that the jelly base doesn't cover up that beautiful sparkle.
With I Lilly Love You.
This is Come to Poppy. This one is a really pretty Coraly- Pink shade with a pearly finish. Have you guys noticed this Pearl trend going around? I don't have a problem with it, I find it quite delicate. This color is the perfect combination of bold and girly. This was two effortless coats.

Here is the most sublte one of the group, Play the Peonies. This one is a very, very light cool toned Pink with a Pearly finish. This one is so delicate and girly and not me but I love it! It's very wearable and refreshing. This was Two easy coats.

I love this combo of I Lilly Love You over  Play the Peonies. The pink jelly base in ILLL gives the base such a pretty Orchid Pink tone and the subtle sparkle makes it even more awesome.

Here is Three coats of I Lilly Love You over naked nails. I actually kind of like the soft blush of color and how the irregular, flakie like sparkle looks like it's floating on my nails.
I really love this small group. The colors are girly but not boring. All Four colors have a great formula. There might be a dupe here but I'll have a comparison up later today. I really loved I Lilly Love You. As much as I love the colors on the nail by themselves, the second you add ILLL they become so much more special. If you love flashy Pinks you need these beauties in your collection STAT!

Which ones will you be picking up?

Zoya Touch Collection LE Swatches

Hello lovely people!

Today I have swatches of Zoya's new Touch Collection. This lovely Trio consists of full coverage Nudes with a "metallic kiss" as described by Zoya. These Three pretties were inspired by the custom colors created by Zoya for the Runways of New York Fashion Week. These are currently available for pre-order and will be shipping in June. These are limited edition polishes and I suggest jumping on these if you know whats what! lol. Also, I'm doing extra large pics for this one to show that finish in these beauties and because they fit in the blog lol! Sorry I have to show you these on my nubs but I could not wait to see them on the nail.

Minka. This Nude has strong Yellow undertones and a beautiful soft Silver shimmer that makes it more pearly than metallic in appearance. Maybe not the best color on my skin tone but someone with darker skin could really do this justice. The application of this color is dream like. Two coats, no top coat.

Pandora. This is my favorite out of the group because I believe she is my "match". Some may say it is too matchy-matchy with my skin tone but personally I LOVE it. This one is a more Rosey- Nude with some Mauve undertones and that same Pearly swirl throughout. This was Two easy coats. No top coat.

Shay. This one is a pretty nude with Peachy tones and that same lovely pearly finish. In Sunlight this one has Goldie- look to it. This one gave me a slight case of the lobster- hands but I can't help but enjoy it. This was two coats, no top coat.
Personally, I am all about these! Scrangie describes them as "foundation for your nails". I couldn't come up with a better way to describe them myself. Basically you get to find which shades are a "match" for your skin. This is where those neat little Zoya Spoons come in handy. The formula on all Three colors is slightly thick but very manageable. They really deliver on the promise of "full coverage nude. They dry quick and to a high shine but adding a top coat really brings out the Silvery shimmer that makes these so stunning. I love how subtle but unique they are. I can really appreciate a well done Nude and these are really pretty and they have a "match" for every skin tone.

Which one are you loving?

Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl

Hello lovelies,

Today I have a pretty white shade. This one came from my mama. It's really pretty and delicate and totally bridal looking. My bestie is getting married in November. I will be working on a series of manis inspired by her colors, patterns and such and hopefully I'll come up with the final designs for the brides and bridesmaids nails. This will be a lot of fun! This color has potential!

Tokyo Pearl is a pretty White base with a pearly shimmer. For this mani I layered one coat of Tokyo Pearl over Bettina's Marshmallow because I had a feeling the formula would be sheer and frosty on its own. Layered it is beautiful and delicate and looks like icing on a cake. It applies easy enough and since it was layered It really brought out the White tones in in more. I'm diggin' it

Here is a swatch of the creamy White goodness that is Marshmallow. I love this color so much! This is two coats.

I can't wait to start working on the manis for my Lizy's wedding. I am so happy for her and so excited to get to go to Puerto Rico for the first time in Six years and for a wonderful occasion. After working on my very first Bridal Post I realized this was a theme that really inspired me so I'm looking forward to that. I've been feeling down lately and I think this might just be the thing to perk me up again. Plus I'm super excited for her to see what I come up with!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Pink Wednesday!! Orly Elsbeth's Rose [FAIL]

Yes, a fail on a Pink Wed... How is that possible? Keep reading....

Some of you may remember me Tweeting this: "Ugh... Every time I look at my nails, I doubt I can eat the amount I want to vomit!!! I hate this mani"....Yeah... it was in regards to this monstrosity...

For today I have an old color of mine re-visited. I remember posting about this color waaay back when I first started blogging. The pictures were terrible, so was my application and the shape of my nails. Also, I was coming into my own writing style and still figuring out different polish finishes, descriptions etc.... Those were the days lol.
Well today I knew I wanted to wear Elsbeth's Rose again and I had a clear picture in my head of what I wanted to do with the color. The fates had something else in store for me.... A terrible FAIL of a Fauxnadicure.... That ruined my beautiful Pink base! Grrrr! Gird your loins...
Ugh.... And there you have it.... My idea was to create shadows of the flower with the layering of the stamps but something about it just did not translate at all. Instead it ended up looking sloppy and forced. I tried really hard to like it and I could not bring myself to do so lol.

Now, about the color itself. Elsbeth's Rose is a stunning soft Pink creme with slight Lavender undertones and a soft Silvery micro sparkle that gives the polish a pearly finish. There is a slight dustiness to this color. The formula on this is kinda thick and a bit gluggy. I had to be very careful with application and keep my hand as light as I could to avoid streaking and unevenness. If you can get over that fact the color is really beautiful and flattering on it's own and I so regret adding the stupid stamps!
It was overcast today :(

I actually was wearing the color by itself for a few hours because I wanted to go hang out with my momma so I just did the Pink base and ran out the door. The whole time I kept staring at my hands thinking "I don't know if I should stamp this..." Lesson learned....

Final Verdict? FAIL tab for sure!

Zoya Yvette

Mr. LTHP chooses:

And he chooses Zoya Yvette. I wanted her in my collection because she shares her name with my mom (well her middle name anyways :). The color itself isn't a color that actually makes me think of my mom. She's more of a Blue kind of girl, BUT Yvette is just a beautiful as my mom!
Icy Purple flashes.
Isn't she lovely? Only Zoya can make a pretty frosty polish. I love everything about this color. It's a lovely Magenta shimmer with a pretty light Purple pearly flash throughout. It's girly, it's flattering and perfect for summer. Yvette has a lovely formula that dries to a glassy finish and is perfectly opaque at Three coats. For this one I wanted a light airy swirl of holo sparkle so I used ChG Virtual Violet for the stamp. I could see Barbie wearing nails like these :)

What do you think of Mr. LTHP's choice?Only One more day to enter My Giveaway!

Zoya Marley

Here we go!

I'll be showing you Zoya's Intimate Collection these coming days. I got started with Marley because the softness of this color was really speaking to me. Without further delay here is the lovely Marley.
Marley is a soft Lilac creme with s subtle Silvery shimmer that gives the polish a stunning pearly appearance. The formula is superb, only Two coats were used on this manicure. This color is Spring perfection. Is it the most unique? No, but I am a HUGE sucker for these soft Lilacs and I really love the fact that it doesn't look Easter-y. I'm sooo excited to show you lovelies the rest of this collection. Every color is amazing and I desperately want my closet to match all these colors!

Come back tomorrow for a look at Jules!
