Pixi Fall 2012 Swatches

Happy Friday!!

Today I have a quick post to show you guys Three new(ish) polishes by Pixi. These three pretties were released for Fall/ Winter. I won't ramble much today and get straight to the polishes because I really want to get SO much stuff done today! I hate when it feels like there isn't enough time in the day to get done what I need done... Anywho.... POLISH!

Pixi Classy Cocoa
This is pretty much the most amazing, most awesome Brown polish I own right now. I.Don't.Like.Brown... That said.. Just look at this amazing color, how could I not like this?! The base is a light Chocolate Brown packed full of Coppery/ Golden shimmer. In some lights you can even see some slight Violet tones, they are very subtle though. This color is extremely flattering and has a great formula. I used Two coats for pictures.

Pixi Evening Emerald
The name on this one throws me off lol.. This is not a Green polish. Well, what is it then? It is a beautiful, Blackened Teal shimmer. I love the darkened edges on the nail with this polish. The shimmer is really pretty and reflects light beautifully. I used Two easy coats for my swatch.

Pixi Amazing Amethyst
Amazing Amethyst is not quite this Blue in person. It is however, a really vivid and pretty shade of shimmery Amethyst Purple. I've read on a lot of fellow blogger posts that this color doesn't feel very unique. I find it totally awesome. I was trying to find something similar in my stash but I came up empty, so in my stash this is actually a pretty unique shade. This color also has a great formula and does well in Two coats.

I really like this small Fall collection, especially Classy Cocoa. All Three colors have great formulas, which is always nice. I really like the Pixi brush quite a lot. I think it's because it has a longer wand that most polishes. In my book, longer wands make for easier application. Pixi polishes are available from Target and retail for $8.00.

Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by!

We Interrupt this Zoya Week to Bring You... #Kidrobot Misko Owl Inspired Nail Art

Whooo... That was a long title...

So, if you follow me on instagram you may have noticed my budding obsession with the Kidrobot Misko Owl series. [HERE] is a post that is very informative about what these cute little fellas are. Long story short, they are collctable "toys" design by artists that team up with Kidrobot to be relesead in series. They come in blind boxes so you don't know which owl you will get. Kidrobot has all kinds of crazy series and amazing artist collabs but this is the first time that I absolutely HAD TO HAVE every toy released in the series. The artist who designed these series is Nathan Jurevicius.
Needless to say I had to find a way to get these little guys on my nails somehow...
This was all done by free hand no tape involved, which is why my lines are not perfect. For the cute little eyes I used the ruffle mani technique but in a circular motion. This was really easy to do but a little time consuming as I had to wait before placing my next row of dots when working on the eyes.

The colors used were: Bettina Sunrise and Aqua, Rimmel Grey Matter, Milani White on the Spot and Black Swift, O.P.I Off with her Red!, PIXI Paradise Pink and China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic.

Here is a picture of the Four Misko Owls I have so far. Four more to go!
I hope you guys enjoyed this quickie look! I had so much fun working on these nails, mostly because I love the inspiration behind them so much. And to think, my first owl was a total impulse buy during a Books-a-Million checkout lol. Misko owls are just cute little collectibles. I have dubbed my little owls "The Guardians of The Polish Room" since that's where they hang out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Pixi Polishes!

Happy Friday darlings!!

Today I have swatches of a "new-to-me" brand. These are my first Pixi products and I am really happy with them. These Three pretty shades come from their new Summer line-up of uber bright Pinks, Corals and a stunning Blue.
Pixi Coral Cabana
I can't even express how much I love this without sounding like a rambling idiot.... This is an almost neon Cantaloupe Melon shade. This is pretty much my new favorite shade of Coral goodness... Hands down. No shimmer, just a simple creme, Coral Cabana seems like it would flatter just about anyone! The formula on this color is absolutely perfect, Two coats.

Pixi Paradise Pink
Paradise Pink is a very Blue toned Pepto Pink creme with a hint of neon pigmentation. For some time there I thought I was starting to get tired of Pink, but then colors like Paradise Pink come along and remind me that I don't love Pink.... I eat, drink, breathe and sleep Pink. This color has an outstanding formula and does great in Two coats.

Pixi Vivid Coral
And we come to the "problem child" of the bunch. The problem is not with the polish itself.... It was photographing this obnoxiously bright shade of Hot neon Coral/Pink. As you can see this color is also a true jelly finish so I did Three coats. The formula on this color is also great to work with. In person this looks juicy, like lipgloss for nails. Vivid Coral absolutely lives up to its name.
I am really crushing on Pixi's bottles and mainly their minty Green caps. Their caps are also ceramic lined which makes it really nice to get a grip on and NO FINGERPRINTS. The brush on these was really nice, nothing special but it does fan out nicely and it is easy to control. These Three shades all had some slight neon pigmentation so they dried to a slightly matte finish. This is nothing a good top coat can't fix.

Pixi polishes get a thumbs up from this gal!! Will you be checking Pixi out?
