Anime Grunge

(**Press Samples**)
Circle lenses make me feel like a cool anime babe and that is all there is to it. I love wearing them and I love, essentially, to create characters based solely on what my eyes look like on any given day. On this particular day I decided I wanted to rock these dramatic light blue lenses. I was not sure what to expect from this pair, as I usually tend to go for lenses that are more "natural" looking. Surprise, surprise... I LOVE these! What are these you ask? These are the Princess Pinky Eclipse Blue lenses, and they are available from Pinky Paradise. More after the jump.

Happy Sunday!!! I was just thinking, not long ago, that it had been a while since I last did a swatch spam post. Then, yesterday, as I was going through some drafts I found all of these. The timing was kind of perfect! More after the jump.

Glittering Stars and Stripes

(**Press Samples**)
Good evening loves!!

I hope you are all having a marvelous Friday! In this post I want to share some quick and fun patriotic glitter layerings that almost did not get posted haha.... That moment when you realize you drafted a post you meant to go up Two days ago.... Oy.....

The first pairing is all KBShimmer. The awesome starry blend is KBShimmer Red, White and Blue-tiful. Per KBShimmer Red, White and Blue-tiful features mini metallic stars in those classic colors. It features holo marine blue stars, added silver holo graphic stars, and finished with metallic red stars and a scattering of red holo stars.  Swimming among the stars are micro red, sliver and blue glitters and micro holographic glitters for a sparkly finish.  This limited edition polish will be available through the end of July.
I used the method shown in my chunky glitter application video. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease with which the stars came out and stayed on the nail. I also love that the stars are tiny and they lay flat on the nail. The added touch of small hexes gives this topper a really fun twist. I layered it over KBShimmer Lo and Be Bold. I topped these off in some KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The next starry topper is Salon Perfect's Star Spangled. This fun topper is a blend of larger satin-matte stars in Red, White and Blue and small holo silver glitter suspended in a clear base. Once again I used the same method of application. This topper also was fairly easy to work with. I did no fishing for the stars, they actually came out with ease. Shown over Cult Nails Nevermore.

The final topper is Salon Perfect's Grand Finale. This topper is a blend of holo silver bars, metallic blue bars and metallic red bars. Once again I was surprised at the ease of application of this polish, Another nice thing is that the bars actually stay flat on the nail. I used the same application method for this topper. Shown over Cult Nails Tempest.

Have a fantastic evening, happy Friday and thanks for coming by!

Happy Friday!!!

And to those of you celebrating today a very happy Independence Day. I hope everyone is having fun and being safe on this holiday! I want to do this quick post to share these cute patriotic nails with you guys. I did this look using all shades from Salon Perfect and some chevron Nail Vinyls. HOnest to goodness, patriotic nails are not really my style... But I ADORE THESE!!!

This look started with a base of Salon Perfect Sugar Cube. This shade is a standard white creme with a nice formula. Once my base was fully dry I placed one of the wider chevron Nail Vinyls in the center of my nail to create the color-blocked look. For the red portions I used Salon Perfect Paint the Town Red, which is a true red jelly-ish shade. For the blue portions I used Salon Perfect Wild Blue Yonder, which is a beautiful shade of creamy sky blue with a slight shimmer.
To clean up the "seams" of where the color meets the white I used some red and blue glitter striper polishes from Stripe Rite. The finishing touch was to add some more red, white and blue accents using Salon Perfect's Save me a Spot, which is a mix of R,W and B dots in a clear base. I just blobbed out some of the polish and picked out the dots individually to place on my nails. I finished it all off with a generous coat of Seche Vite.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all enjoy your holiday, and those of you with a long weekend, have fun!!!

Friday Swatch Spam

(**Press Samples**)
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!

Happy Friday! This is my first official blog post from my new home. I am so excited about our new place. Many of you have been asking about California. What happened? Did I ever make it? etc... Long story short; we made it to Cali and were there for about Three days. We had an emergency and had to head back to Sarasota, Florida (i.e "home").
Finally, back in January, my husband got an amazing job offer in Boca Raton, Florida so that is where we ended up. LTHP is now an East Coast Florida gal :D. I am VERY excited to sample the beaches in the area. Back in Sarasota, we were really close to Siesta Key. Which is amazing beyond words.. But I miss the Atlantic, being from Puerto Rico and all ;).
So, since I've yet to actually unpack and set up my polishing area... I've got some swatch spam for you today. My nails have been nekkid for about a week and a half now. Thankfully, there were no breaks during the move.

#NailArtFeb Californails Challenge Day 17: Studs

(**Press Sample**)
Happy Pink Humpday!

Today I am sharing my look for day 17 of the Californails "Totally Doable- I have a Life Challenge". The prompt for today was "Studs". I was really looking forward to this prompt. I love playing with studs, but I rarely get to do so. I'm a huge fan of studded nails. My nails are pretty short right now, which made this a little extra challenging. I wanted to do something a little more elaborate, but studs tend to be too big for my tiny nails. However, I really have been loving the chunkier stud/gem looks so I figured I'd give one a go anyways.

For my look I started with a base of Salon Perfect's In Love. I used three easy coats. This shade of Pink is just lovely, and playful. I used studs from a wheel I got from Born Pretty Store to create a girly look. I used petal shaped studs to create my metallic Daisies :D. I topped everything off with some Seche Vite to seal my studs and smooth the surface.

The next prompt is "Floral". I am both excited and nervous for this prompt. I really want to do some freehand floral nails. In all the time I've been blogging, I've never done a freehand floral. As you guys know I've really been trying to push myself when it comes to trying more freehand nail art.

Salon Perfect Neon Collision Swatches

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Thursday!!!

Ahhh remember the days of etsy-stalking the Nail-Venturous shop for Floam? I sure do... I remember getting "cart jacked" so many times. I remember throwing hissy fits. I remember the day I finally got Floam in my hands thanks to a wonderful reader. It was a most glorious day. I also remember wondering how long it would take mainstream polish companies to catch on and start releasing dupes of indies.. The answer to that.... about a year and a half...
Enter the Salon Perfect Neon Collision Collection, available at Wal Mart, right MEOW! If you were a fan of Floam and all the other "floamy" releases, you will love the Neon Collision glitters. These neon glitter polishes are incredibly bright, fun and reminiscent of Floam. They even released a dead on dupe for Floam, which I will be covering in a later post. Micro neon glitters densely packed in a clear base? I'll take it in every single color combo you can think of!!

Salon Perfect Zapped over LVX Mynt
neon collision photo DSCN5997_zpsb61ba55c.jpg
Zapped is a bright, lime neon Green and Blue neon glitter blend suspended in a clear base. The blend is heavier on the Green that it is on the Blue so it creates a cool, speckled effect. The spread of glitter is good on these, just a bit thick, not problematic. I think they could be worn by themselves, but I decided to layer all my Neon Collision shades for my swatches. I used Two coats of Zapped over my base color.

Salon Perfect Bang over LVX Deco
Neon collision photo DSCN5962_zps0ce08644.jpg
Bang is an awesome blend of Neon Orange and Marigold glitter in a clear base. This one is the only one that has two different sizes of glitter as it has slightly larger Marigold hexes. I had a HARD time photographing this because it is SOOOOOO bright! I used Two coats of Bang over my base color.

Salon Perfect Shocked over Sation Queenie in a Bottle
neon collision photo DSCN6040_zps70eacb7b.jpg
Zapped is an even mix of neon Pink and Blue glitter suspended in a clear base. I'd say this is most like Pink Floam. This baby was one of my faves in the bunch. I used Two coats of Zapped over my base color.

These babies are top coat eaters!!! You can see that on my photo of Shocked(Pink one). I had top coated it and by the time I had my photo, the top coat had settled into the glitter. So a good top coat is a must to smooth out these pretties. That said, these are awesome, bright, neon and badass!! I can't wait to wear and comp the Floam dupe for you guys! The Floam dupe, btw, is called Kaboom and I will be sharing that one by itself soon. I don't have a fave, I adore all of these!! I was always a sucker for this "colored sand" looking polishes.

What are your thoughts on the Neon Collision glitters?
