There is a birthday party on my nails and you are invited! KBShimmer is getting ready to celebrate Six years in the biz and they have given us a festive little nail color trio to party with! I'm sure the past Six years have been a whirlwind for Christy Rose, the brains behind this amazing brand. I want to take a second to congratulate Christy on this milestone, and wish her many more to come. Between KBShimmer's yummy bath and body products, and all the amazing polishes they continue to put out season after season I know they will have many more years to come. To celebrate KBShimmer's Sixth b-day Christy created a new trio of polishes. Two cremes and a new textured shade make up this party of Three. A bit more of awesome news... KBShimmer now also carries an awesome range of nail vinyls!
The amazing sparkler I am holding, and wearing on my pinkie and index nail, is KBShimmer Hexy Bikini. This textured glitterbomb is packed with prismatic silver glitter and accented by a rainbow of prismatic hexes that perfectly jump off the textured silver base. The formula, while dense, is very easy to work with. I used two easy coats on my textured nails.
On my ring and middle nail I used a base of KBShimmer Shore Thing. This shade is an awesome minty/ aqua/ teal. It is one of those shape shifter shades that will look a bit different from person to person, and great on everyone. This shade has a nice creamy formula that does great in Two coats. I topped my ring nails off with KBShimmer Scribble Me This, from the later Summer 2014 collection. I love the festive mix of glitters and shapes.
The final touch was adding a "scalloped" nail using some nail vinyls and KBShimmer Beach Please. This shade is a perfect vivid magenta creme. This shade has such an amazing formula! It goes un very smooth and builds up to opacity easily.
I finished off all my nails (except the textured ones) with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top. This celebration trio will be available from KBShimmer on August 1st!! And now... I am off to find some CAKE... all this talk of birthdays and partying have me wanting cake!
Today I want to share a look with some AMAZING shades from the KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 collection. For this look I decided to pair one of the extreme new holos with one of the beautiful textures Christy released. I never cease to be amazed by beautiful Silver holographic polishes. Part of me always thinks they will all look the same, but they never do. Basically, a Silver holo is like Black eye liner, or Red lipstick... You cannot have too many, and no two are ever the same.
I was also very pleasantly surprised with the texture I chose to wear for this mani. The look of it is super unique and complex. I was so happy to see that the KBShimmer textures are unlike any texture out there.
The outstanding silver holo is the, cleverly named, PT Young Thing. As the name suggests it is an intense platinum (silver) toned linear holo. When I say intense, I mean INTENSE. You can see rainbows on your nails even when it is not in direct sunlight. The formula on this color is fantastic and does well in Two easy coats. A perk to this holo is that the addition of a top coat does not mess with the intensity of the holographic effect.
The accent shade is one of the new textures. This pretty is She Twerks Out (lololololol). This pretty is a perfect teal jelly base saturated with matte and sparkling glitter. I love the how the blend of green, lilac and aqua glitters give this color its texture as well as a beautifully complex, layered, look. This color dried to a satin- matte finish and gets the texture from all the glitter packed in the base. The formula was suuuper easy to work with. I only needed Two coats for full opacity. Even though the surface was fairly smooth and the textured nails were not snagging, I chose to top coat them with a coat of Cult Nails Wax That... top coat. I didn't want to alter the matte finish, but I did want to ensure a quick dry time and extended wear.
Seriously though, how amazing is that holo... Even in artificial light you can still see intense rainbows!
KBShimmer rocks my socks off and that is all there is to it ♥.
This Friday some of the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida are linking up with some Purple themed posts. We decided on Purple for the month of May for Lupus Awareness. For my look I decided to got with some elegant v-gap moons in some of my favorite A England shades.
I started with a base of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple. This glitter is a sheer purple jelly base packed with tiny shifting glitters. The shift is mainly from purple, to pink to copper.I only did this to give some interest to the nakey part of the nails. The Keancolor glitter is mainly meant to be layered, but it still looked really pretty peeking under my holographic beauties. Then I added a coat of INM Northern Lights to aid in the dry time of the Keancolor glitter.
I used single chevron nail vinyls to create my v-gap look. On my Pinkie and Index nail I used A England Fonteyn. This is a marvelous shade of intense silver holographic. For my Purple shade I used A England Lady of the Lake, which is a beautiful, regal, shade of Purple with a subtle holographic effect. I accented my Ring nail with tiny light purple gemstones and sealed it all off with some Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat.
Did I mention I was on a serious textured kick lately? I mean, seriously... I just cannot stop reaching for textures every time I go to do any mani I intend on wearing for more than a few hours. I am a BIG fan of the ease of texture polishes. Meaning you just need a base coat, one or two coats of a texture and you're done. They dry really quickly and, to me, always look AMAZING.
This past weekends mani was all about the beautiful Zoya Magical Pixies for Spring 2014. This Trio is made up of Three gorgeous sparkling textures. They all feature a strong holographic twinkle, and lots of chunky glitter.
On my thumb and index nails I wore Zoya Lux.Lux is a soft, rose quartz micro sparkle texture base accented by prismatic rose hexes ranging from small to CHUNKY :D. Even though this color is soft and feminine it packs a huge sassy punch thanks to the super sparkly finish.
On my middle nail I wore Zoya Cosmo. Cosmo is the bright Silver sister of Lux. She is basically the same concept, but in an insanely beautiful Diamond- Silver color. Last, but not least, is Zoya Vega which is the Sky Blue version of Lux and Cosmo.
These three beauties have a very dense formula. They are very, VERY packed with sparkles. They really do resemble crushed precious stones. I used Two coats of each color. A light hand is best to ensure an even spread of the glitter all over the nail.
Removal of these can, and probably will be a pain. For that reason I wore the OPI peel off base coat underneath. I am glad to say that these pretties wore like IRON for SEVEN days, and I was still able to peel them off when I was ready for a change.
These are the sparkliest of all the PixiDusts that have been released, and some of my favorites. I love how chunky they are and how much they sparkle. I also loved the dense formula because I could definitely get away with one coat in days where I might be rushing.
These retail for $10.00/ color. Did you pick any of these up? What are your thoughts on these sparklies?
Today's mid week treat brought to you by; MOAR Cult Nails :D. This sexy Foursome is the Passionate Dreams collection. These pretties were released around Valentines Day, back in February. For this release Maria did a Silver foil, Two sparkling pretties and a new Red wax finish. I am SOOO stoked on that Red wax, BTW.
All shades but Kiss are shown with a top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.
Cult Nails Ignite- This beauty is an amazing Black creme-jelly base packed full of micro Gold and Silver glitter. I am in love with this shade and the way the glitter peeks through perfectly through the opaque Black base. The formula is amazing on Ignite. I only needed Two coats for full opacity.
Cult Nails Angel Whispers- This shade is a dreamy, soft and ultra-shimmery Pink. This shade is extremely beautiful and feminine. I really love the shimmery finish. This pretty is not without its issues though. The formula on mine was insanely thick. I had to add a few drops of nail polish thinner to be able to work with it. Once I added the thinner I was able to apply thin enough coats to build it up evenly. I used Three coats for my swatch.
Cult Nails Lethal- This shade is just amazing. Lethal is a super dense Silver foil. In person, it is practically a chrome finish. The formula on this shade is absolutely perfect. I used Two coats for my swatch, though I could have done with One. This shade dries a bit matte and looks great either way. Lethal also makes a great polish for stamped nail art.
Cult Nails Kiss- This is the newest wax finish. It is Red, it is sexy as hell and it is waxy. Kiss is a perfect shade of rich candy apple Red. The formula on this shade is fantastic. I love it for days when I am in a rush because I can usually just do one coat, and it dries quickly. Basically for instant fab, just add a coat of Kiss. Shown are two easy coats of Kiss.
All of these shades are still available for purchase from Cult Nails as well as the Beautylish Boutiques. Each shade retails for $12.00. I absolutely adore these. Even though I ran into that formula issue with Angel Whispers, I still adore that shade. My absolute faves here are definitely Ignite and Kiss.
It's a Friday quickie! Today I have a sweet and simple sparkly look using Two of the shades from O.P.I's Gwen Stefani Collection. When I first laid eyes upon In True Stefani Fashion I just knew it would make beautiful glitter gradients.
The base Pink color is O.P.I Hey Baby. I used a bit of cosmetic sponge to apply O.P.I In True Stefani Fashion to the tips of my nails. I finished my nails of with some Seche Vite to smooth out the sponging and bring out the sparkle. I so adore glittery gradients. They are a very easy way to spice up any mani.
Two words: Crinkled Chromes... What? I can't recall a collection causing so much conflict within me since.. ever. When I first read about these a few months back, I was slightly confused. I could not wrap my brain around the concept of a textured chrome. How would they go about this? It looked awfully weird in my head. This meant that I just HAAAAAD to see them in person and try them for myself. I didn't care that hating them was a possibility because the concept was so new and weird, I needed to see in action on my nails.
To see closeup swatches and find out more about the China Glaze Crinkled Chromes collection just keep on reading.
My goodness!! It is already December 23rd!! I don't know about you guys, but this year has been a crazy whirlwind for me. It really feels like the Earth is spinning faster or something. I simply cannot believe that Christmas is right around the corner and the year is almost over.
So, as a blogger, I don't really get to actually enjoy most of the polish that comes my way. Meaning, I don't get to actually wear many of the polishes you see on this blog. More often than not, most of my polishes get swatched and stashed away for later wear or nail art use. That said, there are special colors here and there that I just KNOW I have to wear and enjoy. Enter the A England Ballerina Collection. If there is One thing that this brand has mastered is the ability to capture my heart by creating beautiful colors with even more beautiful inspirations behind them.
The Ballerina Collection features Four fantastic Holographic shades. They each have a very delicate feel with an intense linear holographic finish, and in some cases even a slight duochromatic look to them. For this manicure I chose to wear Dancing with Nureyev and Encore Margot.
In the photo above I am holding Encore Margot. This beauty is an outstanding shade of Silvery Ice Blue linear holographic. The formula was absolutely amazing, it could have practically been one coat but I used Two. I am always so amazed by A England polishes, but their holos take the cake. They are always buttery smooth and self leveling. The other amazing thing about these holographic polishes is that they wear like iron.
In the photo above I am holding Dancing with Nureyev. This beauty is a light Sapphire Blue linear holo with a slight Violet duochrome. This beauty is so wintery and really just astonishing. This shade could have also easily been one coat, but I used Two. Another great thing about these two holo-pretties is that they look holographic in just about every kind of light. It is like they are made of nothing but micro holo particles. Many holos can be a let down if they are not in Sunlight, not these little gems.
All pictures were taken before applying a top coat. As you can see they are very shiny, even and smooth. Hooray for holos with great formulas!! One more great thing about these... Adding a top coat will not alter the holoness of them. The effect remains just as strong, even with top coat. That is always a worry for me when wearing holographic shades as top coats tend to mute the effect.
I wore these for about Five days. In the end they started chipping because I was naughty and started picking at them. I'm sure if I had left them alone, they could have gone even longer. I spent most of the time moving my hands about to make little rainbows come out on my nails. Sometimes I forget how much I love a good holo, and A England delivered just that with this collection. If you are a fan of holographic shades you will fall in love with these pretties.
Today's mission is to get some rushed holiday nails put together hahaha. I seriously slacked this Holiday season. I'm not really happy about that, but I think I needed the break. I shall come back refreshed and full of new ideas. I have many goals for LTHP this coming year, such excite!!
Now drool at the beauty that are Dancing with Nureyev and Encore Margot! ^.^ ♥.
It is a dark, Grey and gloomy day here in (what is supposed to be) Sunny Florida. I don't know about you guys, but bad weather makes me a sad panda. I get so lazy, slow and just plain out of it. I know I can't be the only one lol. Anywho, if you follow me on Instagram (@L_T_H_P), you know of my obsession with all things Black Milk Clothing. I am simply addicted to the shiny nylon goodness. Everything they make is so unique, fun and colorful.
I own about Seven pieces from Black Milk Clothing. Two of my favorites are my mermaid legs. I own them in Purple and Silver holo. I seriously want everything in this fabric, in all colors. I am so obsessed with anything mermaids. The "scales" are craaazy holographic. It was very hard to capture in my photos. Every time I wear my Black Milk pieces I always get so many compliments. I just adore their clothing to pieces.
So I really wanted to match my nails to my Silver mermaid legs, because you know, that is entirely a thing.
I had to take this pic in weird lighting to get the holo to come out, the Sun was long gone at this pont. SO, for my mermaid nails I started with a base of China Glaze's Cosmic Dust from the Hologram collection. This is a lovely shade of light Gunmetal grey holographic awesomeness. For my mermaid scales stamp I used Red Angel stamping plate RA-111 and Konad Black special polish. I topped off my nails with some Seche Vite and called it a day. They were a perfect match to my fierce leggings.
Here is a shot of my base color Cosmic Dust. This holo has a nice-ish formula. As it applies it looks a bit frosty and streaky, but as it dries the streaks and frost disappear and turn into holographic awesomeness. I used Three thin coats to achieve evenness and full opacity. In the photo below I had not top coated my nails yet. When added a top coat, it did mute the holo finish just a bit. Sorry about my weird-looking skin here, I had a hard time capturing the holo effect properly.
Do any of you guys own any Black Milk clothing pieces? They are seriously amazing. Oh and for shiggles, here is a pic my husband took of me last time I wore my Silver mermaid legs. I had the huge honor and fangirl moment of having Black Milk share this photo on their Facebook fanpage. That same day they had also shared one of my photos on their Instagram as well. It was so surreal having my favorite clothing line share my photos with their fans!
Oh and for the record, there was no photoshopping done to this photo. This photo is a cellphone pic. I am naturally slim and will not make any apologies for it. People called me anorexic, a bad role model because I'm "too thin" blah blah blah.. WHATEVER. Us girls can't win.. We're too thin, we're too fat.. What is right then? Me, I'm happy with myself, I am happy with my body and I will flaunt it while I have it. My tattoo was done by tattoo artist Robbie Ludders of Sarasota, Florida.
Thank you so much for stopping by today my loves!! I'm off to see about doing an Independence Day mani. What is everyone wearing for the holiday?
Today I have swatches of some beautiful polishes by indie brand Sindie Pop! When Jessica contacted me about reviewing some of her babies I jumped at the chance. I had been seeing so many of her creations and lusting after them pretty hard. There is something very playful and fun about Sindie Pop lacquers, and I just love them!

A total quick, random note: I've decided to take a hint from miss Sarah of Chalkboard Nails and created a dedictaed page for Press Releases and general beauty news. You can visit by clicking [HERE]. I have also created a tab at the top of this blog: "Press Releases" clicking on this tab will re-direct you to the press release page :D. This way those of you interested in what is coming out don't miss out on the news. And those of you who are not don't have to worry about news cluttering up the pretty nail colors and art ♥. LTHP Press Releases is set up as a "blog" so you can subscribe as you would this one if you are interested in press releases and general beauty industry news.
SOO!!! Today I am sharing my swatches of the Second half of the Objet d'Art Collection by Cirque. You can see swatches of the first half of the collection [HERE]. I am so in love with every single polish in this portion I am sharing today. There is something about Cirque nail polishes that is just so classy, yet different and just plain beautiful.

So I saw this meme a few days ago.. The quote was something along the lines of "January is like the Monday of the Year". I totally feel like that right now lol! There is SO much I want to do and I keep forgetting that I have a whole year ahead of me to do it lol!!
Today I have a bunch of awesome Twee & Honey polishes to show you. I've had these swatches stashed away for a while. I figured since I am doing a bit of "Winter Cleaning" of my folders that I might as well post these sooner, rather than later. Miss Cleo sent me A LOT of her babies so you will be seeing some more Twees in the near future as well.
Today I have some new releases by the uber cute, Vegan- friendly brand- Chick Nail Polish. I've been a fan of this brand from the very first time I saw their adorable Chicky logo. Last year All A Twitter was one of my top polishes for the year. I've never been let down with Chick NP's formula either! I think these would make such cute gifts.
On a side note: Julie also released an amazing cuticle oil this past Fall. It is a Tangerine- Ginter scented cuticle oil and it has an amazing texture. I LOVE how it smells. Sometimes I want to wear it as perfume.
To see close up swatches of these Four shades just continue reading♥.
Today I have swatches of Nicole by O.P.I latest CVS Exclusives release. This group is made up of Seven shades. There are Three cremes, a shimmer and Three frosts. These were released during winter, but the colors feel very Spring-y to me. The cremes are amazing!

So today is day 11 of the 31 Day Challenge. The task today is polka dotted nails. I'm super tired today. My new meds are doing a number on me in terms of energy... As in, I don't have any, EVER. I get tired really fast over nothing. Me no likey!
For my polka dot nails I started with a base of Chick Nail polish in Biker Chick. The dots were done using Cult Nails Nevermore, Pomegranate Lacquers in Blue Screen of Death and Julie G Oh Em Gee!. I initially didn't have a plan for my "dot placement" so most of my nails ended up with different patterns. These are cute, but they were cuter in my head lolol!!
Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Polka Dot looks for day Eleven!
My slacker bum finally sat down to do today's challenge prompt about Two hours ago. Sammy and Rie posted earlier today. I believe Miss Rie had quite a fun night and was also runnin late today lol! My excuse? I got caught up with a hair color project over the weekend (still not finished), and had no time to do my challenge nails.
Also, a bit of news... I had a doc appointment earlier today and finally got an answer as to what has been making me ill, turned out to be Crohn's Disease. At this point I am just glad to have an answer and can finally get on an official treatment plan. So there's that...
I had a hard time coming up with a look for today's look. I couldn't decide what kind of metallic I wanted to go with... Glassfleck metallic? Shimmer? Glitter? Chrome-y? And then, there it was, like a shining beacon... My O.P.I Goldeneye from the new Skyfall Collection! It was a done deal...
Yeah.. I'm rocking a shatter! The base color is Three coats of O.P.I Goldeneye. Once my base was really dry I applied my Silver Shatter. The contrast of the Silver against the warm, Honey Gold is so much more awesome than I thought it would be. I topped it all off with some Seche Vite. The look was definitely metallic....
Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Metallic looks for day Eight!
Hi hello!! Today's post comes from one of the very first blogs I ever started following. This looks is by the lovely Stephanie of Imperfectly Painted. --- Hey everyone. This is Steph from Imperfectly Painted. Thank you to Cristina for letting me guest post on her blog!
A question I used to ask myself when I got into nail polish was “Is there ever such thing as too much bling”? If you had asked me this a few years ago I may of shied away from overly blingy manicures. Now, who cares! The blingier the better as far as I’m concerned. There are times I don’t want to go full out glitterbomb on my nails, but would like that added touch of sparkle. This is why I love the accent nail. You can have that added pop without going all out. This has been one of my favorite manicures I’ve done lately using Zoya Trixie and Color Club Orna-minted.
As you can see Zoya Trixie is pretty blingy on its own. It’s a great foil-metallic silver. The addition of Color Club Orna-minted on the accent nail just makes it a party on the nails. Orna-minted is a great dense mixture of large, medium, and small silver glitters in a clear base. It’s also scented. It smells like peppermint. So, I guess it’s a minty party on your nails! What I also like about this look is that it goes with anything since silver is a neutral. I sometimes like to try to have my manicures at least compliment the colors of my outfit, and with this you don’t have to worry about that! Shimmery, glittery, minty, and matches with anything is a win-win for sure.
Happy Polishing! --- EPIC!!!! I love a good blingy mani! This has holidays written all over it! Thank you Steph for the awesome BLING-tastic post!
Today I have the nails I wore to this work party I had on Saturday.... Sadly these didn't even make it to the party. They were ruined by the time I had to get dressed. What can I say? I totally brain- farted and forgot that I had to rock some *couchspanxcough*. Let me tell you... These and said garments do not mesh well....
The employees had to dress in White and Navy and such so I kept the theme down to my nails. I wore the cutest white BCBG dress and I totally forgot to take pics of he full outfit.. My shoes were too adorable for words. Maybe I'll have to find a reason to get all dressed up again and take some pics for you guys! On my nails I was rocking Two coats of Barielle in Berry Blue with some Fish Egg accents in Silver and Light Blue beads. I was so bummed that these didn't last. They really looked so cool!
I'm kinda liking this new trend of the Index and Middle finger accent nails. While a the party I managed to break one of my already short nails, my middle nail on my picture hand to be precise, so I am back to some SUPER nubs... I know my nails are short, but now they are even shorter.
