LTHP's Crazy Birthday Nails! Turning 27 in Rad Nails

(**Press Samples**)
Hi everyone and happy Thursday!

Today is my birthday! I will be keeping my intro short and sweet today. I'm allowed to slack a little on my special day, right ;)? Anywho, I wanted to do something kind of crazy and all over the place on my nails... So that is exactly what I did haha.
 photo DSCN4864_zps2611b312.jpg
I think it is easier if I break this look down by nail since there is so much going on. There was really no rhyme or reason behind any of this manicure. I just kind of winged it and ended up with this crazy look that somehow seems to work.
- Index and Ring nails: Gradient with Milani Cupid's Touch and Aqua Brisk. The glitter over Aqua Brisk is China Glaze's Your Present Required. My Ring fingernail is the same thing, just inverted. I REEEEEALLY love how these gittering gradient nails turned out.
- Middle nail: For the base I used Cult Nails Tempest. For the splatter part I used Bettina Pink Bikini, Hopeful and Cult Nails Nevermore
- Tumb and Pinkie nails: For the base I used China Glaze Put a Bow on It. I then did a dotted gradient using China Glaze Mingle with Kringle, Cult Nails Tempest and Nevermore

I topped all of my nails off with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on top. On my Index, Middle and Ring nails I also did a coat of INM Northern Lights for some extra sparkle. I kind of like the "multiple personality" thing this look has going on, very me haha.

I'm off to celebrate turning 27 with my crazy nails!! Thanks for stopping by today!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Fragmented Alice Collection- Nail Art Look

Hello and happy Monday everyone!!

Today I have a quick nail art post to share with you lovelies!! I hope everyone celebrating had a beautiful Christmas!! I don't know about you beauties, but this gal is sooo ready for 2014 to get here. 2013 was a weird year for me, extremely weird now that I think about it. I'm definitely ready to kick 2014's bum though.
Today's look features the Two nail polish shades that Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics released for their Fragmented Alice collection. This particular collection was inspired by the work of artist Gail Potocki.
occ gryphon and severed photo DSCN4065_zpsfb5ec270.jpg
The two shades featured are Gryphon; a muted Putty- Grey creme, and Severed a saturated and hot Coral creme shade. Both of these shades have absolute perfect formulations. I was incredibly impressed by the application of both colors. Both of these shades, Gryphon and Severed, are true one coat polishes. I could not believe how pigmented, yet smooth and self-leveling these two shades were.
For my nail art I went with a mixed look, these are AMAZING for nail art. I did some dotting, some splattering and some tape striping. I really loved how these Two colors played off of each other. In case any of you are wondering, my Thumbnail matched the Ring nail (splatter). To finish off my whole look I did a generous coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top top coat.

The Fragmented Alice collection by OCC is still available online. The lacquers retail for $10.00. OCC brand can also be found in some Sephora stores as well as Sephora online.

Have you guys tried any OCC nail colors yet? If you have not, I highly recommend this brand (I am also a huge fan of their lip tars). I've yet to encounter a single shade with a bad formulation. Not to forget that their color range is amazing! They are all quite magical really. I fell in love with OCC lacquers during their Moderncraft fall release. I think this is a crush that will last a long time! Now... Grey and Coral forevaaaah!!!! I never knew this color combination could look so chic!

Thanks for stopping by loves!

Celebrating International Nail Art Day #INAD in Essie's Naughty Nauticals

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Caturday!!!

Today is the first ever International Nail Art Day (#INAD). I remember seeing a post about this on the NAILgasm Documentary Facebook page a few weeks ago, and I thought it was an awesome thing. Of course I have to participate. Although LTHP features a lot of swatches and beauty posts, this bloggity-blog actually has its roots in nail art. I started this blog as a way to share my adventures in nail art and it eventually evolved into something much bigger.
To this day though, one of my favorite things to do is to sit down with a ton of color and just have some fun with my nails. For this special day I went with a look that features the shades in Essie's Naughty Nauticals collection. These shades were perfect for the "theme" I had in mind. Yes, there is a theme here haha. I wanted to do a colorful mish-mash of some of my favorite nail art techniques and this is what I came up with. Ten nails, ten different combinations= One awesome mani :D.
Essie Naughty Nauticals #INAD photo DSCN8060_zps9a559fdc.jpg
To make things easier I will break this look down by finger :D.
Thumb: starts with a base of Naughty Nautical and then splattered with The More the Merrier and Full Steam Ahead
Index: starts with a base of Rock the Boat then I did some saran-wrap marbling with The More the Merrier and Naughty Nautical.
Middle: starts with a base of The Girls are Out then was dotted with The More the Merrier, Naughty Nautical and  Full Steam Ahead
Ring: starts with a base of The More the Merrier. Once it was fully dry I carefully placed my striping tape then went back over my nail with Naughty Nautical to create a neat striped look.
Pinkie: starts with a base of Full Steam Ahead then I did some saran wrap marbling with The Girls are Out and The More the Merrier
I finished off all of my nails with a coat of Seche Vite followed by a coat of INM Northern Lights for some added sparkly goodness.
Here is a shot of my Naughty Nautical skittle bases before I went to town on 'em :D.
Essie Naughty Nauticals #INAD photo DSCN7996_zps4452ef40.jpg
From Thumb to Pinkie: Naughty Nautical, Rock the Boat, The Girls are Out, The More the Merrier and Full Steam Ahead. All of these had fantastic formulas, I did Three thin coats of each. I really tried to get a good photo of my right hand, but I simply cannot pose with my right hand lolol. My  right hand truly is my Cinderella-hand.
 photo 20130802_160652_zpsef66cb5e.jpg
On my right hand I used the same techniques but switched the colors around as well as the pattern of the dots and tape. I had so much fun working with these colors. I didn't really set out with a plan. I just knew I wanted lots of color, I think I achieved my goal hee hee.
Here are my, rarely seen, thumbs :D. These colors are just too much fun. I love how there is a mix of vibrant and soft that comes together perfectly.

Happy first International Nail Art Day everyone!! I hope to see some awesome looks! Make sure to use the hashtag #INAD when sharing your looks on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter.. etc. I'm looking forward to seeing every one's looks!!

Happy Caturday and thanks for stopping by!

Pink Wednesday! Zoya Micky Splatter

(**Press Samples**)
Happy Pink Humpday!

I just watched Mean Girls for the 12,873th time yesterday. And it reminded it that I had not done a Pink Wednesday in some time. Not a whole lot of us still do Pink Wednesday, but I like keeping the tradition alive now and then ahaha.... So you better be wearing Pink, or you can't sit with me..
Zoya Micky Splatter photo DSCN7754_zps5af3d8c8.jpg
I went with a splattered look since I had not done one in a while. I started with a base of Zoya's Micky. I wanted to do a cute, edgy mix of colors so I did my splatters with Zoya Rocky and Josie. To really set off the splatter I added a bit of Black with Zoya Raven. I always forget how much fun splatters are. I topped off the entire look with a coat of Seche Vite.

Zoya Micky
Zoya Micky photo DSCN7714_zps0c9354f9.jpg
Micky comes from the Summer Stunning collection. This beauty is a gorgeous shade of vivid Coral-y Pink. It practically borders on neon and it has a lovely, subtle pearly shimmer. The formula on this shade is a dream, as most Zoyas are. I used Three thin coats for my base and ran into no issues with application.

Thanks for stopping by today darlings! Now, go put on some PINK!!!

31 Day Challenge 2012! Day 22: Inspired by a Song

Happy Caturday!

Today is day 22 of the 31 Day Challenge and Sam, Rie and I have to be inspired by a song. I had some serious mental block when trying to decide on a song... So I didn't :D! I started up my Pandora on my favorite station, Sleigh Bells, and decided that what ever song came on first would be the one I would use as my inspiration.
The song that came on was "Riot Rhythm" by Sleigh Bells. To this day I still have no idea what that song is about. So I watched the video, which made as much sense as the song lol... But it did have a lot of cool imagery...
Every nail is inspired by an aspect of the video. These nails make as much sense as the video does lolol. It's an awesome song though. I love Sleigh Bells!

I'm going to break this mani down by nail to make it easier.
-Pinky nail: base color; Cult Nails Enticing. Gradient done with China Glaze 2012 Neons in Splish Splash, Love's a Beach and Sunkissed. The stamp is from one of the Cheeky plate sets, CH02, and I used Konad Black Special Polish.

- Ring nail" Cult Nails Nevermore accented with opalescent rhinestones.

-Middle Nail: base color; Cult Nails Nevermore. Taped off accents in CG Def Defying, Bettina Premium Wash and Milani in Yellow Whiz and Rapid Cherry. Topped off with Seche Vite and INM Northern Lights.

-Index nail: base color: CG Tree Hugger and stamped with Cheeky plate CH03 in Konad Black. The splatter accents were done with Zoya in Robyn and Lara

Here is the video that inspired the nails!
Now don't forget to stop by my challenge partners Rie and Sam's to see their Song Inspired looks for day 22!

LTHP is Back! Daddy Kool Records #MunnyShow 2012 Inspired Nails!

Hi guys!

I am back! Yes!! I wanna thank all of the AMAZING bloggers that stepped in for me for the past Two weeks. You ladies blew my mind in several different directions, and I know my readers were in amazing company. I'm just in awe of the talent in this community. Also, on that note... While I was gone LTHP reached 5,000 followers!! WOW! I need to plan something special to celebrate this milestone!
Today's manicure are the nails that I wore to this years Munny Show at Daddy Kool Records in Downtown St. Pete, Florida (post about this later on today!). My nails were inspired by the sticker that the Record shop, along with many other shops on the DT strip were displaying on their windows to promote the local "art show".
For this fun look I started with a base of Zoya Purity. For the striped nails I used my striping tape from Born Pretty Store and Milani Black Swift. On my middle finger I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM19 and Zoya Robyn. The splatter finger was done with JulieG Oh Em Gee, Zoya Robyn and Milani Black Swift. On my thumbs I did a drip effect using Black Swift and Oh Em Gee.

Here is a crappy thumb shot... Still getting a hang of the drip technique. I topped off all my nails in some Seche Vite, followed by INM Northern Lights TC then followed by one last coat of Cult Nails Wicked fast.

Here is a shot of the poster that inspired the nails and the nails :D. I am actually so happy with how these turned out. Even at the point when I had all my nails coated in a clean white canvas I really didn't know what I was going to do with each nail and it all just came together out of the Blue. The color palette is just right on for awesome nail art!
I missed you guys so much!!! I had a nice little break, recovering nicely (still working on that). I feel better every day and I am SO happy to be back!!

I hope you guys enjoyed this nail art!!! Who knows... I may just be back later with a Muffin Monday but I will def have a post up soon about the show!

Zoya Week! Zoya Fall Splatter

Happy Friday!

Zoya week is almost over but I'm still going strong! For today's look I have this awesome splatter I did using colors from Zoya's Gloss and Designer Collections. I think this is one of my favorite splatters I have ever done. The effect is very different thanks to the amazing Frida. Could that polish be anymore amazing and versatile?!
For this look I started with a base of one coat of Zoya Purity. The splatters were done in a particular orders because I wanted to achieve a cool multi-dimensional look. The first color I splattered with was Zoya Evvie then I went back and splattered once again with some Purity. The next color I splattered with was Rekha followed by Carey then followed by Frida. I topped it all off with some Seche Vite. I love how Frida creates this cool stained glass effect.
I'm all about nails that remind me of modern art and these are right up my alley. It had been a while since I splattered and I had forgotten how cool this technique looks. For my splatters I used little coffee stirrer straws.

Are you guys ready for the weekend? I sure am!

China Glaze Summer Neons Splatered Skittles!

Good morning and happy humpday!

BEHOLD! Super nubs! :(:(

Today I have an awesome and very colorful mani I did using 10 of the new China Glaze Summer Neons for 2012. I will have swatches of this collection soon. I could not resist playing around with them first. This collection is full of win and I cannot wait to show you guys!
For this mani I started with a skittles base. I think it is easier to say which colors from the Summer Neons I didn't use. I skipped on using Pink Plumeria and Flirty Tankini. Used all of the other colors in the Summer Neons in one way or another. I skipped on the more muted shades because I wanted this to be super bright and just a little obnoxious..... Mission accomplished. I added some splatters of White and Black to give some contrast to the splatters. Needless to say I love this look and of course topped the whole thing off with INM Northern Lights.
I have to say.. I am beyond blown away by the formula on these neons. Seriously AMAZING! I cannot wait to show you guys swatches of these beautful Summer colors.

Thanks for stopping by!

Black & White Challenge! Day Three- Color on Black

That is all... I'm stoked on today's nails and I can barely form coherent thoughts because I love this so much. Today's task is a Black base with color on top and that is exactly what I did! I'm a little speechless about these...
For this epic look I started with Two easy coats of Bettina Onyx. Then.... Then I went to town splattering in Bettina colors. I used some of their amazing Disco Collection glassflecks and ended up with amazing results. For the splatter I used Boogie, Peace and Hot Pants. I cannot get this look out of my head because I had never seen a splatter create an effect such as this before. This was NOT fun to clean up because the super fine shimmer from the Disco Colors wanted to get everywhere. I don't even care though.. The clean-up was so worth it in the end!
Please tell me you love this as much as I do lool!!!

Now... Don't forget to stop by  Sam The Nailasaurus, Rie Nails and Noms, Esther at Fab Fingertips, Stephanie at Sincerely Stephanie and Emily from The Laquerologist to see what they have in store for us today!

Pink Wednesday!! Edgy Holographic Splatter

Hi hello and happy Pink Wednesday!

I have some wonderful news before we get started with my usual nonsense.... I have a JOB!! A nice office job in real estate at a really nice community. I am so excited about this opportunity and I can't wait to see where it takes me. I am also happy that I will be able to keep my nails looking pretty lol... I know that sounds uber shallow or maybe dumb.. But I am, after all, a nail polish blogger and my nails should be always looking nice right?

For today's post I wanted to play with some of my holographic beauties from Llarowe... I've done lots of creamy splatter manis but I had been wanting to do a holographic one because I though the effect of the sparkle would look so cool. I went for it and I am so happy with the awesome and flashy results!
This is a really simple look. I started with a base of Two coats of Glitter Gal's Frappe. For the splatter I used HITS Atena and Glitter Gal Lizard Belly. I love LOVE love how this looks. Because of the holographic sparkle it almost looks like a watercolor mani. Have you guys seen those yet? They are soo cool and I am dying to try one. I think I will soon. This is quite and edgy and fun look... Holo Splatter! A big win in my book!

What do you guys think?

Essence Planet Earth Splatter Mani

Hi hello and happy Caturday!!

Today I have a totally awesome splatter mani. I haven't really been shy about my love of Essence Color and Go polishes. I really wish that the ENTIRE Essence line was available in the states. They release some really incredible stuff in Europe... I own some of that awesomeness thanks to the lovely Deborah but I just cannot get enough of these little polishes.... So, it had been a while since I busted out my Color & Go's and I was really wanting to play with some of these because I just love these little suckers. I have a really cool mix of colors and I always want to mix them in really contrasting ways... As such :D!
So for this mani I started with alternating bases of Lime Up! and Underwater. Then I splattered with the alternating colors using a little coffee stirrer straw thingie. I love those because I can really aim at the nail and it makes it a little less messy and a lot faster for me. How cute is this combination?! It looks like pictures of Planet Earth from Space or something. I am just over the moon with this mani! To top it all off I added a coat of INM Northern Lights.
And there you have it! I love these polishes!! They are .99 cents and they are just AMAZING. They have outstanding formulas and great brushes. I love theseee!!! Go get some!! lool!!

Happy Caturday!!

Muffin Monday!! Bettina Candy Sherbert Splatter Awesomesauce!

Hi lovess and happy late Muffin Monday!!

Sorry I am running so late today. It's just been a hectic time around here and I've been trying to play catch up for sometime and I still manage to fall behind. But anywho.... Here I am with Muffins "pick". Today she was having "a day"...

Since she didn't "pick" one I went with the one that she knocked over which was the amazing Candy Sherbert.
For the splatter I used all Bettina colors as well. I used #190, Art Deco Yellow, Art Deco Aqua and Resort Flip Flops. I love the effect it created because I think it kind of looks like an oil painting.

Sherbert is a pretty candy toned Orange with a touch of Pink. I hate that my camera doesn't capture Oranges properly. This one is so juicy and creamy and just awesome.  This one is a Three coater because the formula is slightly jelly like which makes it look even juicier.

I am so happy for finally be wearing this color. It's so Summery and happy.

And Just a reminder of Bettina purchases!!! Lovelies wanting information of pricing, shipping and purchasing Bettina polishes please shoot an email to (Rosama Distributors-authorized distributors Bettina cosmetics)

Happy Muffin Monday!

Zoya Sookie and Purity Splatter Mani

Happy caturday loves!!!

Sorry for the late post today. I had an awful day yesterday and just did not have time to put something together for today. Earlier in the week I worked on another Bloody splatter mani.  I love splatter manis with lots of colors but these "bloody" ones are my favorites!! IDK why I know thats a bit.... morbid? But it just looks soo cool!
For this splatter I used a base of Zoya's Purity and did the splatter in Zoya Sookie. What better Red to use to do a bloody splatter mani in?! BTW, those of you watching True Blood... Are any of you wondering where this whole thing with Arlene's creepy baby is going?! lol

Happy Saturday!

Muffin Monday!! O.P.I DS Coronation and Zoya Raven Holo Splatter

Happy Muffin Monday!!!!

Today Muffin picked me one of my oldest O.P.I's. I was so excited when she picked me this because I had not worn this since like August of last year.

So this time around I decided to layer DS Coronation over Zoya's Raven to bring out the holo sparkle even more. I saw Jen the Polishaholic do a splatter mani using CND Effects over Black that looked amazing and I wanted to emulate the same feel of that mani by using this DS Coronation for the splatter. In person this is sooo freaking cool!
DS Coronation really comes to life when layered over other colors. It's a scattered Silvery holo and it's just beautiful. The formula on this is easy to work with and can be built up to opacity on its own. On my Ring finger I have Three coats of Coronation over Raven.
Kind of Blurred to show sparkle
This one shows the Subtle Holo.
And here is a swatch of Zoya's Raven. This baby is a pitch Black creme with the most subtle pearly shimmer. This pretty is opaque at Two coats and has a decent formula. It is slightly thick but not hard to work with. This also dries slightly dull so a top coat is a must. UH-mazing!
Happy Muffin Monday!!

Zoya Purity gets Splattered

Happy Caturday!

Today I have another splatter mani. I'm loving these. They are fun and easy to work on and the results are always great. Jen has got me hooked on the splatters! This one reminds me of one of my favorite things.. Jawbreakers!!
So in the pic above I am holding Malia which I used for the splatter. I also used Zoya's Robyn  and Dana.  I think my favorite finger is the middle one lool.

Here is a swatch of Purity. This is THE BEST White creme I have ever used. This one is a really nice, clean White. The formula is smooth, even and easy to manipulate. It only needed Two effortless coats to look like this. Here I have it with SV applied.
Hope you all are enjoying you weekend!

Muffin Monday!! Bettina Bonfire Splatter Mani

Happy Muffin Monday!!

Today Muffin is back with an unsual color choice. She normally seems to pic cooler tones and today she went for this awesome, bright Coral shade from Bettina. This is another one of my Miami Beauty Show finds.

This was so much fun to work on. I will have a tutorial linked at the bottom of the post. Also, I need your feedback peoples!! Do you guys like these x-tra large pictures or are they too much? Personally I like them but they might be too much for some people. Anyways I really need/appreaciate your feedback guys. Biiig pics: Yay or Nay?
So True Blood started yesterday and here is my splatter mani in honor of... a day late lol. Anywho as my base I used two coats of Bettina's Marshmallow and for the splatter I used Bonfire from their newest collection. I freaking love this color. As Red as it looks, it is actually a bright, rich Coral. For a tutorial on how to do the splatter visit Jen the Polishaholic

Happy Muffin Monday!
