#NailArtSociety Habit Denim Blues Kit

(**Press Sample**)
Happy Humpday!!!

Today's post features the Nail Art Society kit for April (I believe). This adorable set was all about the color DENIM haha. The featured brand is a new one to me, Habit. The blurb on the Habit site states: "Habit gives you the gorgeous nail color you crave AND strengthens your nails, all without the harmful chemicals found in other nail polish brands. Habit naturally strengthens nails with Myrrh extract. Myrrh reinforces nails to give them more flexibility without the brittleness you get from chemical nail hardeners. Myrrh is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Habit is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor, and is made without animal testing. Habit is packaged as sustainably as possible. We are the only nail polish brand made with a bamboo overcap. It adds to the beauty of our nail polish and means that we use less plastic. Habit is packaged in FSC Certified paperboard produced through sustainable forestry."

The Habit shade I got with my kit is the beautiful Belle Epoque. This is a creamy shade of clean Periwinkle Blue. The formula was absolute perfection. I was actually surprised at how opaque, but fluid this color was. I used Two easy coats to achieve a perfect, glassy smooth look.
This kit also comes with cute silver and gold water decals in cute zipper designs. Even though the packaging on the zippers calls them stickers, they are certainly NOT stickers, but water decals. I like that they are decals because with water decals you get a much cleaner, cooler effect that with stickers. I love how the zippers look so perfectly vibrant against the light blue base.
I finished off my look by accenting with some light yellow gems placed randomly on my nails. I sealed the whole look off with a generous coat of Seche Vite. I managed to wear this look for about Four days, when time came to remove, they were still holding strong and looked fairly flawless.

Have you guys heard/ tried Habit nail color? I really love the packaging!

Monday Mani Spam

(**Press Samples**)
Good evening my darlings!!

Today I have some random mani-spam for you guys. I also have a teeny bit of "news" today. If you follow LTHP on Facebook, you may have already seen this update, but I wanted to post it on the blog too.
Muffin's passing was a very hard, sad and almost traumatic experience for me, she was such a big part of our home, and this blog. I was heartbroken to have to bring "Muffin Mondays" to a close in such a sad manner. But that said, I knew that I had to keep the tradition of polish-picking kitties going on the blog. SO, starting tomorrow a new weekly feature will begin with Truffle picking up where Miss Muffin left off. Every week, on Tuesdays, Little Truffle will be picking me a polish to work with. Truffle Tuesdays are a-comin'! After all... my blog tag line does promise Nails, makeup and CATS!!!

Happy Mother's day with Essie Haute as Hello

Hello lovelies!!!!

Happy Mother's Day Sunday!! I've missed you all so much! I just got back from Ohio today and as soon as I unpacked and ate the First thing that came to mind was this cute little mani. This color was part of my swap with Carina.
Haute as Hello is an awesome Creamsicle Orange creme that borders on being neon. I'm so into Orange lately and this one is so... Yummy! Now, the formula was a slight pain in the behind because of that slight neon finish. It was bit streaky and draggy but for the most part it leveled out at Three patient coats. This was nothing Seche Vite could not handle ;). I really love the final look with the cute little flower stickers. It is not often I like using stickers but sometimes they just work. A very happy mother's day to all of the great Mommy's out there!!

I missed you guys soo much!!

Muffin Monday!! O.P.I Suzi & the Lifeguard

Happy Muffin Monday!

Today she picked me something awesome! I needed some Pink. This is Suzi and the Lifeguard from O.P.I's 2009 Spring Collection, which was a much better one compared to the hot mess that is the new Texas Collection (tune in tomorrow for the one and only color I purchased from it). Overall, I don't think Spring is O.P.I's strogsuit, with the exception of some Hong Kong Collection Colors.... Anywho, here is something pretty...
Unusually Girly, but I needed something to cheer me up from the depressing
weather.
So after a mega Sh*t-tastic weekend, weather- wise, I was glad to see that Muffin had picked me something light and pretty... I looooove Suzi and the Lifeguard, which my dad got me for Christmas. This is one of my favorite Pinks, ever. It is a lovely ballerina Pink with a soft pearly shimmer. It's not a silvery shimmer, it is a beautiful matching Pink shimmer so my nails had a glassy look to them, like Pink Pearls. Also I'm beyond happy with how this looks on my skin tone. I mean sometimes if I like a Pink enough I'll make it work, but this is really easy to wear. For my mani I used Three coats of SatL. It was opaque at Two coats but I felt I needed a thin Third coat, just to give it a little extra depth. For the decorations I used stickers and rhinestones from Born Pretty Store, which I will be reviewing soon.

Happy Muffin Monday!
